  1. I agree on your cars, but... you didn't read the article, did you?
  2. I think it's the simple beauty of it. Nothing overwrought...just a good looking car stripped of anything to detract from it. It's pretty...not a great car, but artfully done. You?
  3. I don't know what happened to it.... http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/2265
  4. Those of you who get all excited whenever someone talks bad about GM (especially when it's undeserved) should enjoy this. Another great commentary on Rush Limbaugh's uneducated automotive rants! http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/2260
  5. Of course, Chrysler can barely afford to stay in business...but how about the other companies? This one's nearly half a century old and I still like it more than 99% of the recent concept cars! What do you think?
  6. I don't have a problem with what anyone calls their personal car...nicknames are a personal thing. I have a problem calling anyone (or anything, for that matter) by a nickname aside from "Tom" for "Thomas", etc. I do, however, have a problem when writers (or...shudder....TV talking heads) use nicknames for vehicles. Like calling the President by his last name ("Obama" or "Bush" or "Clinton" instead of "President..."), it seems to be a little less respectful. I've lowered my snob-sensors to the point where I won't complain too loud, but "Mercedes" when referring to Mercedes-Benz (since Mercedes was a stand-alone brand prior to 1926) or "Rolls" instead of Rolls-Royce kinda bothers me. Like the Tom/Thomas example, even I'll use "Chevy" and "Olds" was the original name for the company that built Oldsmobiles. Am I getting a little picky when I don't like "Bug" or "Beetle" being used for the Volkswagen Type 1?
  7. Thanks! I've been contributing to the site for a while and the new virtual magazine is a nice new way to present the articles. Please, pass the link on to friends.
  8. I don't like Cadillac adding the Epsilon platform... (the Impala is still on the W-body platform and the LaCrosse is on the Epsilon platform....not related) ...just like I don't like Lincoln abandoning REAL luxury cars (the MKZ and MKS don't count as "real" luxury cars to me). I want to see Lincoln introduce a rear-wheel drive car just as I want the XTS to go away.
  9. Anyone else take a look at it? I'm asking if you like the writing...primarily mine.
  10. Thanks for reading...please pass on the link to friends!
  11. As fellow chatters on one of my favorite website (this one, if you didn't know), I wanted to give you guys a first glimpse of a revived online magazine: AutomotiveTraveler. Some of you have seen the individual articles, but please take a look at the first full publication in years. Make some comments...share with your friends if you like it...but just take a look. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it. http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/2124
  12. This auction of this car was Wednesday and it sold for £179,200 ($286,124 at today's exchange rate)! That's probably about US$100,000 more than I expected.
  13. The third SSR is up for sale. Check out this article on the vehicle! http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/2081
  14. Check out this article about the Vector W8 heading across the auction block later this month: www.automotivetraveler.com
  15. Compared to the other concept cars from Chrysler at that time, the Plainsman is not as memorable. I think the Falcon and the others are far more distinctive where as the Plainsman is more extreme in design, but much less attractive.
  16. The concept car known as the Plainsman hits the auction block next weekend, but here's the whole story behind the car at www.automotivetraveler.com What do you think?
  17. Boogie Boarding :: Nags Head, North Carolina "Going down da shore" is Philadelphia-ese for vacationing at the beach. It usually means heading to Cape May, Wildwood, Sea Isle City, or Avalon, New Jersey--great beaches all, with amusement parks and boardwalks and plenty of places for family entertainment. And many thousands of people do seek out these relaxation spots every weekend between Memorial Day and Labor Day. But if you're "going down da shore" early in the season, when ocean temperatures in New Jersey are typically in the 60s, you need to head to more southern locations. North Carolina's Outer Banks lures many of these early vacationers. Read more at: http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/1946 Part 1 is at: http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/1920
  18. Check out this article on vacationing in North Carolina. It's more about the road trip to go on vacation and incidentally about the trip to Nags Head. What do you think? http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/1920
  19. I've got another rare Italian for you. How about the Rayton Fissore Magnum which was sold in the US as the Laforza! Check out this: http://automotivetraveler.com/jump/1883
