  1. When I got my impala it had some really noisy tires on it. They were uniroyals i believe, but anyway I put a set of bridgestones turanzas on and it cleared it right up. Nice choice of car by the way. Good luck.
  2. Just make sure you get on the plane that is taking off on the treadmill from hell.....then you don't have to worry about it. Yeah well anyway....I feel for you, I get air sick, car sick, and sea sick (if it's high waters)....I take non-drowsy dramamine for in the car and the boat and i'm going on a long flight i just take the regular dramamine so that I can sleep, because I have trouble falling asleep in anything that is moving. Mythbusters said that ginger works too.
  3. i was dead set on it flying....still kinda am....but after 6 pages....it seems that there are too many things that could change depending on the way you think about it.....so now im way too confused....i'm on both sides.....and i'm done

  6. Thats the best idea I have heard all day
  7. depends on if your talking about plane speed relative to the ground or plane speed relative to treadmill. I believe he was talking about plane speed relative to the ground. Example - Wheel speed 50mph, treadmill from hell 50mph, plane speed 0mph (relative to the ground)

  10. what he said
  11. Nick changed it halfway.....not sure everyone knows that.....the "treadmill from hell" is moving at the speed of the plain, not the speed of the wheels, so it completely changes the problem
  12. You can put aftermarket remote starters in manual vehicles, so I don't see why the factory ones wouldn't. If I were you though, I would skip the factory remote start option and go for an aftermarket one. The aftermarket ones work from a much farther distance (I have one in my suburban and it works from about 2 blocks away as long as there aren't a TON of obstructions) plus you can get one that is 2-way, that way your car doesn't even have to be in site for you to know that it has started, becuase the remote lets you know. They really work slick, plus you have the option of adding a security system to most of them, with it all working through one remote.
  13. ok well we have 2 seperate arguments here. If the wheels can't spin faster than the belt is turning, then no it can't go anywhere, but Nick changed it halfway and said that the belt is only going as fast as the plane and that the wheels could go faster. If that is the case, then the plane takes off, because the plane can move forward on the "treadmill from hell" (funny yellow dart) and take off, its just that the ground would be moving underneath it.
  14. yep, nowhere did Nick say that the plane couldn't move forward on the treadmill
  15. where the power comes from makes EVERY BIT of difference. If this were a car, then it would not be going anywhere, because the thrust is applied THROUGH the wheels. In a plane, that is not so. The thrust comes from the jet engines, which are COMPLETELY independant from the wheels.
  16. it does not matter what is happening to the wheels. This is not a car, there is VERY minimal forces being applied to the wheels (unless you applied the brakes). The thrust forward is from the jet engines. Nick said that he had worded it wrong as was pointed out earlier. He meant to say that the treadmill at the same speed (but in the opposite direction) as the plane as moving, so the speed of the wheel does not matter at all. If the plane is moving forward (relative to the ground) at 100mph, then the treadmill is moving in the rearward direction at 100mph, and the wheels are spinning at 200mph. If all these speeds increase, the plain would eventually take off.
  17. yep, the plane is still going forward its just that the ground is moving under it
  18. yes....the plane takes off, but the wheels are just spinning twice as fast
  19. i find that hard to believe
  20. I could see people buying them in the US, so bring em over. DCX actually owns a "golf cart" company that is based out of Fargo. They are called GEM cars. Most of you have maybe seen them. They are really cool. You can get them in gas or electric and in pretty much any configuration that you want, from 2 to 6 passenger and in a stripped down utility vehicle to a little car that is fully enclosed, is street legal, and has a lot of features a car has. Even when they cost darn near 10 grand, for what is basically a glorified golf cart, I see a lot of people who use them to go back and forth to work here in Fargo. They even get around pretty well in the winter. The city of Fargo is not congested whatsoever. It's only a town of about 120000 people and people still see a reason for them. Check out the website here

  22. I have some family members that live just across the border and we were up there for some holiday. This was about 4 years ago when exchange rate was about 1.60can to 1.00. My dad happened to be looking for a new work truck for the farm and the dealer was advertising that they would give you 1.70can to 1.00. We found out that sales like this were common up there because American business is a big deal in those small towns just across the border. We ended up buying a used 1995 silverado 2500 diesel. We just had them change out the gauges after we bought it. If I remember right, the way it worked with the taxes is that we got out of paying the Canadian taxes because the dealer delivered the vehicle to the border, but we still had to pay the state taxes when we registered it. Something like that.

    ....

with rising gas prices almost EVERYONE is concerned about mileage. If people want to go off roading they are going to go buy a truck that is suited for that. I have taken my Suburban off-road and it does just fine, never had a problem, and from what people have said the 900s have better clearance than the 800s so I don't see any problem with the ride hieght of this new truck. Hopfully it will be cracking the 20mpg highway mark. If it does get that good of gas mileage, people will be flocking over.
