  1. On sale in 2007 huh, that is not too far away.
  2. dive
  3. If this is a dry river bed, that would make the soil quite fertile.
  4. I never thought it was flared, it just looks odd.
  5. I would guess maybe the problem with the rear view camera on the pickups was finding a mounting point. On the SUVs and the Av. it is mounted above the license plate, which is on the hatch. On the trucks the license plate is down on the bumper, not in the tailgate, so there is nowhere to mount it up higher. I don't know how great it would have worked having it mounted that close to the ground.
  6. I didn't quite catch what you were trying ot say there. Are you saying that you don't think it would run correctly if the exhaust pipe were toned down a bit, or are you saying that emissions test may not be met if it is altered, becuase I don't have to worry about emmisions tests in ND.
  7. You were arguing the fact that there should be back-up cams on the pickups because they do more towing.
  8. The Ford does 18s, but also has smaller wheel options. Plus all this tine wheel combos do is make people go out and buy new, bigger wheels and tires for thier truck after they buy them, everyone around here does it. You hardly see an HD that has the stock wheels
  9. the only thing that would help you with was backing up a trailer, because once you had the trailer on and were backing up all you would be able to see was the trailer
  10. Yeah I know what you mean, it was a really cool option that never quite caught on. I have a relative that has a Yukon XL with it that he uses to pull a camper with. Without it he would not be able to sneak his camper in next to his garage. I drove it a couple times and it really is fun to play with. Its a wierd feeling when going around corners, but it is fun to watch people look at it kinda funny when you turn in front of them. Back to the pick-ups, nice to see that all the HDs are getting the 6 speed, very cool. Finally got the integrated trailer brake to match Ford, and quite the towing capability, 16700, with the fifth wheel, very nice. I hope the Duramax is still going to sell well with the added price hike along with the reduced emmisions. It really is a great powertrain combo along with the Allison.
  11. The more attractive one of the duo IMO. The front bumper looks so much better and flows with the rest of the vehicle. Plus, the toned down fender flares look much better with those tiny wheels. I didn't notice that HUGE awkward tale pipe on the Silverado as much. If I owned one of these I would cut that back a bit so it didn't look so wierd
  12. I can't beleive they didn't come up with some new, bigger wheel and tire packages for the new heaver duties, otherwise they look great. Still don't know what I think about the front bumper it really pops out at you, but at least it is metal i guess. EDIT: It looks as if they put the Duramax emblem up on the hood rather than the door like they did on the GMC...I don't know what to think about it, just pointing it out.
  13. My dad was born late in my Grandparents life, my grandma was 45 and my grandpa 50. My dad was the fourth born in is family with a brother that was 18 years older than him, and twin sisters that were 15 years older. My grandpa died of a heart attack when he was 58, making my dad almost 8 years old. My uncle took on the responsibility of raising my dad as my grandma was not much of a mother, she was loving but did not care what the heck my dad did, EVER. Heck she left him home alone for 2 weeks when he was 14 while she went down to Florida to visit one of my aunts, she knew what was going to happen but just didn't care. My uncle did the best to keep my dad on track and did a good job of it as my dad turned out very respectable, but they were still more like brothers than father/son, and I can see that type of relationship is my dad and Ir's relationship. He has been a great father to me, but he almost seems like more of a brother to me sometime. We talk like brothers and fight like brothers. When we piss the other off, we ignore each other for days even though we work with each other almost every day of the week. He has done a good job of raising me. He raised me to be a hard worker. It is not uncommon for me to work 80+ hours a week between school, working on the farm, and another part time job I have. I have no problem with it either, it's what I have always done, and it is what he expects of me. When I was younger he would always trust me to do whatever I wanted. He just expected me to be honest with him about what it is that I was doing, and if he found out otherwise, that is when he got mad. I guess he figured that he turned out fine without anyone telling him to be home by a certain time or that he couldn't do this or that, so he figured it would work fine to raise his kids that way too. It really did work out well if you ask me and it is how I plan on raisin' my kids. All in all, we really are 2 peas in a pod. Too much alike sometimes. I would say that he is pretty much my best friend.
  14. a thought that ran through my head as well
  15. The 04 is a GT1, with no options that I can see of, and I did sit in the back seat and it seemed to be somewhat comfy so it must have the revised cousion. Thanks for you thoughts guys and that is kind of what I have been thinking also.

    new car

Well my little sis is needing a new car. She is driving a 96 Bonneville now. She has basically run it into the ground, the odometer stopped a couple years ago but I'm sure it has passed the 200000 mile barrier by now. The dealer is not going to give us anything for it so we are just going to be keeping it around the farm for small parts runs and stuff like that. There is an 01 Silverado with about 150000 on it on the farm that my dad wouldn't mind getting rid of so we took that to one of the smaller local dealers to see what they would give us for trade. He told me about 6800 which isn't great IMO. We looked around a little more and my sis found a used 06 grand prix with about 25000 miles that she liked a lot so we asked the dealer how much he wanted to boot. He was asking 17000 for the car straight out and told us he would trade us for 6000. Great deal considering what we are getting on trade. I went back to the first dealer because they had an 04 Grand Prix come in that my sis liked quite a bit too, plus it's marroon just like she wanted and only has 18000 miles on it. The dealer told me 8800 to boot and I told him about the deal we could get on the 06. I left with him still wanting 8800. He called me back 30 minutes later and told me because of all the vehicles we had bought from him that he would sell us the 04 GP for 5000 to boot....seems like a steal to me. She likes them both. They are both base models so there is not much difference between the 2. The only thing extra is that the 06 has a leather wrapped stearing wheel with audio controls. So which one should i tell her to get, the 06 has more miles, but is 2 years newer (which may not matter because she might run this car til it dies). The 04 only has 18000 miles and is a grand less. Did much change from 04-06? Let me know what you think.
  17. Too bad about the young boy. I own guns and am a firm believer that people should own guns, but you also need to be safe about it. Keeping trigger locks on your guns with the ammo stored in a seperate locked place can go a long way in keeping kids safe. You can tell them all the times you want not to ever touch them, but it is something unknown to many children, so they are most likely still going to pick it up and play with it. Teaching gun safety in any house that has guns in it is the smart thing to do. My dad sat down with me when I was about 9 and taught me gun safety, as he did with all my sisters too.
  18. There are places in western north dakota where no one would even know or care if you are there....i have also run across many places like this in north central Minnesota.
  19. Both the sedan and coupe GTP G6 have the 6 speed now, and as far as the avenger goes, it looks like they just took a charger and made it uglier. There is no problem with family resemblence, but it should be well done. I think the front looks decent, but there is something wrong with the rear fender flares. They just look awkward.
  20. I am going to school to be a pharmacist and work in a pharmacy in my free time, and I would just like to let anyone reading this know that your pharmacist always has your best interests in mind. Whenever you are given a drug that you have not taken before, you are given information on what the side effects of the drug are, whether it is in the box, on the bottle, or on a piece of paper the pharmacist prints off for you. If you ever have any specific questions about the drug, don't be afriad to ask your pharmacist. He or she can answer all your questions, and it is never a good idea to go off any serious drug cold turkey. It is your choice of whether or not you are going to keep on taking a drug or not, but it is always a good idea to talk with your pharmacist about what kind of side affects you may encounter when going off of a drug. They can let you know if there is a better way of getting off of the drug. BV, I'm not giving you advice even though it sounds like it. You can do whatever your heart desires, but I just thought I'd through this out there for anyone to read.
  21. I agree about the mirrors. This is somewhat of a disappointment, but it beats the current vue, IMO. I will reserve final judgement for when I see some official pics.
