Not complaining, that is why I still live here. -

This is our local ABC station. I am not so sure it is a huge issue around here actually. -
69 Mustang Fastback. I actually do own it now. It just needs a TON of work.

I like the idea of seeing the Coors brewery. I have seen the Anheuser-Busch plant in St. Louis and it was fun to see. I would love to see the Coors plant as well. Also, my cousin is working on getting Avalanche tickets as well, that would be a ton of fun.

This just isn't about me. Sure I could park it in my driveway instead of the Suburban and plug it in when I need to, but there are some people who have to park their car where they can't run an extention cord (i.e an apartment parking lot). If bringing this thing here really means a 5000 dollar premium on the car, even if it would get 45 miles to the gallon, it is going to take me years of driving that car to justify it. If it is worth it to pay the extra 5 grand just to use less fossil fuels, why not just buy a flex fuel vehicle, save the 5 grand, run E85, and use even less fossil fuel. It just isn't desirable in a car for me. You can feel however you want about the issue, and if it comes here and you want it then by god you should get it. This engine would make sense in small trucks and SUVs to me, where you could actually justify the extra cash for the added torque that would make for a much more capable vehicle.

Now that IE has tabbed browsing with IE7, I would say they are pretty equal when it comes to the basics. Someone who knows Firefox more in depth, could tell you some of the other things it has over IE.

I like the way firefox works, but it won't let me scroll with the touch pad on my laptop like it should, so I use it as a backup to IE7.

I have Motortrend. Even though they are biased every once in a while, there are still some interesting articles.

Happened in my dad's 04 Silverado before he got rid of it. Was very inaccurate for a couple of months, then fell off to zero. Instead of letting me buy one for him off of ebay, he decided to just drive with the Tach for a couple more months until he traded it off.

Also the big difference with diesel here in the US compaired to Europe is that in the US it is a commercial fuel. On average, the people who use diesel NEED to use it. Unless a farmer isn't going to plant his crop this year or decide to leave it in the field at the end of harvest, he is going to use diesel no matter what the price is. More personal vehicles using the fuel would definately change the market for it.

There was a stretch in February where it didn't get above zero for a couple of weeks except for a few days and was 20-40 below every morning. I don't drive my car every day so those January and February cold spells would definately be a problem. We have a Duramax on the farm that even has troubles unless it gets plugged in. Granted it is only short portion of the year, but it is enough for me to stay away from them, because to me they are not that desirable to begin with.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I am sure that we will be hitting up a few of them, and a drive through the mountains is definately in order. Living in the Red River Valley of the North with not even a small knoll (unless it is man-made of course) within miles of me, the mountains are definately a sight to see.

So, next week I am headed off to Denver for a few days. I'm leaving Tuesday night and am coming back on Sunday morning. A cousin of mine lives down there and since I have the week off from school, and don't have a ton of work to do on the farm, I thought I would take a few days and take a trip. I talked the girl I am kinda seeing into coming with me, and besides a trip down to Colorado Springs on Friday to visit a friend of our's, we have no idea what else we might be doing. So...any of you that have been to or live in the Denver area, what are some cool things to see while there? I'm driving down there in the Suburban, so it is going in for an oil change and a tire rotation before we hit the road. With driving around while down there and everything, it looks like it is going to be over 2000 miles of driving.

'Premier' look redefines Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealerships
scharmer05 replied to Flybrian's topic in General Motors
The PBG dealer here in town just opened about a year ago and looks great the way it is, I doubt to see them changing it up anytime soon. The one up in Grand Forks is a all in one GM superstore. They at one time carried everything but Saab, but lost the Hummer dealer after a short while. They just built that store a couple years ago, and since it has to encompass all GM brands I doubt to see them changing it up. Too bad, it looks nice. -
Besides the lack of 6 speed in the Silverado/Sierra I wouldn't want GM to do it any differently powertrain wise. The fact that they have 3/4 ton and 1 ton models available lets them have different trucks that cator to different buyers, rather than having to make a truck that has to cator to everyone at the same time, like Toyota has to. If I was towing around a 10000 lb trailer, I sure as hell wouldn't be buying a half ton, even if it is rated for it. I pulled a 30 foot camper trailer for a friend of mine last fall. Just for 10 miles or so, to park it in a shed, with my Suburban. No idea what the Suburban is rated for, but I believe the trailer was just over the 8000 mark, and holy $h! it damn near took the front wheels off the ground. My Suburban sometimes even has troubles pulling around our boat and snowmobile trailers, mainly on hills and in a headwind. They are probably both around 3500lbs all loaded up. Anything more than that and I would want something with a better suspention setup for towing, but I am not willing to give up the comfort that I have with my Suburban's softer suspention setup. I have read in a few other interviews that some reviewers thought the Toyota's suspention was a bit rough compaired to the 900's. I think GM got the combo right. They have the 5.3 with pretty damn good fuel economy for the truck buyer who doesn't NEED a truck that often but needs one often enough for them buy one. They have the 6.0 1/2 ton with a little more capability and power for those guys who like a little more power off the line or need it for towing and such, but don't quite need the capability (or loss in fuel economy) that a 3/4 ton brings. Then they have the 3/4 and 1 tons for the big boys who need such a truck with the duramax available for the guys that really need to tow something. When Toyota tops the capabilities of the Duramax 1 ton, I'll give them props.

I've driven 3-4 and have riden in the 1st.

so you can't get 17" aluminum wheels on a 2LT, anymore. That's sad if that is the case.

For the situation you're in, and they price you are getting, I'd say go for it. Its a good price for what your getting and the miles, and I'm over 100000 on my 3.4 and it still holds coolant with no problem, so no head gasket issues yet. The 3.4 isn't really that bad of an engine. It gets me from A to B and gets great gas mileage on the highway. (Not so great mpg it town, but that is more the way I drive than anything else.) If you were dealer shopping I would definately recommend a Carivan. My Mom has been driving vans for work since 97. She got a 97 Carivan that was definately the nicest minivan she has had to date. Very comfortable and nice to drive. It made it to 17xxxx with no major problems before they got her a 2000 Venture in 2001. She got it with 60000 or so and it made it to about 130000 (i think) before the head gasket went. It went another 40000 before they got her an astro in 2003. I think the only other problem it had was the power steering pump going out, but things like that are to be expected. It was a decent van that did whatever it was asked to.

Congrats, can't wait to see the car.
