  1. Don't forget prior to B-P-GMC there was Old-Cadillac. GM's biggest problem is not that they have too many brands, it is they have too many dealers with a mix of brands and too much over lap. B-P-GMC should go a long way to help GM because it will reduce the badge engineered over lap.
  2. They do it to a degree in Europe for the US brands. In the US, maybe 20 years from now. But that is the direction they are taking. B-P-GMC is a start. But because of state laws, unless GM wanted to throw billions at the dealers to consolodate and go away it will not happen fast. I know I have said this before, one of the few reasons Saturn continues to get investment is because they have all stand alone dealers. Either way - that appears the direction they are going - long term.
  3. Building on what you just said: Don't get rid of the brands, give every dealer the franchise rights to sell all of GM brands in the same General Motors showroom. I know I know I over simplified it, but that is the direction they should take. A General Motors mega dealer network.
  4. NO... you cannot receive GMS and 0%... Thanks that is what I thought. No wonder the BM is flying off the handle again. This promotion again is not drumming up any new business for him. Add to that no GM Card redemption credits. Everything makes sense.
  5. Do you know if they are offering the 0 for 72 with GMS?
  6. He's slicker than KY Jelly. He spews more crap than a new born baby. His ego is the size of Uranus. Who is this board troll? He's BM. Any by the way I did create that photo. I just did a yahoo image search for BM.
  7. He could be working Dort Hwy in his spare time. I hear there is plenty of cash to be made there. Flint does not have much but it does have the underground economy.
  8. I should have warned you not to be dissappointed. Carfax is only OK for verifing milage, and knowing of any reported crashes. And I believe they decode the VIN for a lot of factory info. OK I just reran the report and they do decode the VIN. That is it. For the most part they just compile public "state" information as well as anyone who will sell info. Looks like Onstar sells activation info.
  9. yes - email me the vin
  10. LOL - I want Red Ink Rick fired - Yeaaaaaaaaa
  11. Ha ha - Some people have a negative reaction to a full moon. Mine is a recurrent case of BM.
  12. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ IMO I do not think KK ever expect GM to head south in value and touch the teens. I believe KK thought he bought the company cheap in the low 30/share and that he expected the company to head back to the mid to high 40/share in the next 12 months. Katrina, DPH and a whole scale restructuring of the company were not on his schedule. 5 year http://quotes.nasdaq.com/quote.dll?page=ch...=GM&selected=GM 10 Year http://quotes.nasdaq.com/quote.dll?page=ch...=GM&selected=GM
  13. I have no idea what this will lead to. I was speculating humoursly with someone earlier today that in the end, GM and R-N will end of setting up a 50-50 joint Powertrain Joint Venture and call it done. I just have trouble believing Wagoner and his management will take this without a fight.
  14. I am going strictly from memory of the events leading up to and just after the DCX venture. There was a good book written about the Chrysler-MB merger written in 2000. I am not double checking my dates. “now i'm thinking that history repeats itself... now... when Kirk was dealing with Chrysler... he did what...” KK bought about 10-15% of Chrysler Corp in the early 1990s. At the time Chrysler was trading at about $7 a share. Chrysler Corp around 1993 just after Eaton was full CEO and Chairman was sitting on 10 billion in cash. KK wanted that money. After the KK/Iaccoca coupe attempt and York placed on the BOD, Chrysler increased their stock dividend to appease KK. “he tried to purchase the company outright... or did he?” IIRC KK and Iaccoca wanted to structure the takeover where they used Chrysler 10 billion cash hoard as payment for the company. The takeover failed. “and somehow it ended up merging with dymler-benz... now did he benifit from that merger?” Just after the merger DCX was trading at over 100 a share. KK sold a big portion of his stake at that time. When MB bought out Chrysler, MB paid a premium for the share. I believe C was trading at 28 a share and MB bought them out at a 20% premium. So I think the sale price was in the low 30s. KKs position doubled in value right after the merger. "does kirk own any portion of Nissan or Renault?" Not that I am aware of. “and what roll did Lutz play in the transaction before?” Lutz was quiet during the whole thing from what was reported. If what I read was true, he named the company DaimlerChrysler. “because the Merger with Chrysler led Lutz into a 10 million dollar lump sum if i remember correctly...” Eaton I think walked away with 30 million or there abouts. All the execs did. There were all sorts of caveats though. But remember, Chrysler at the time had a relatively strong stock price and a lot of the execs at the time were sitting on 7 dollar stock.
  15. I agree 100%. The internet is a big place and there is a lot to find out there without ever having to talk to a supplier or OEM. But be mindfull, that there are still a few of us around here that can easily verify what is BS and what is not if reported here or else where. As for program info that I share - well, if I do share, well you better believe that I am very certain it is accurate. If it was not I would not share it. Personally it is more fun to debunk the myths that are spread around as facts. Some of it is so absurd.
  16. LOL - I have noticed that correlation also.
  17. I fixed the Jerry Flint link: More to think about. http://www.autoextremist.com/page2.shtml#Rant by Peter M. DeLorenzo Kerkorian + York + Ghosn = Disaster for General Motors.

  20. http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A...302/1148/AUTO01 Wednesday, July 05, 2006 Daniel Howes We want to know, Kerkorian, what's your vision for GM?
  21. Please educate me. Particularly where I talk in absolute. So what is it Shantanu, you finished your first year of University and think you are a big boy now? The one absolute I do have is, BM's Plan will not and can not do as it suggest.
  22. You found that funny also. I was on the floor with that one also. But when I step back and think: No education. No experience. No credibility. In the end it really is just sad.
  23. No I feel bad for people that lack education. That is the real travesity of our society.
  24. You have said many things before that have not come true. That you can take to the bank. But, be careful what you wish for. No matter how this turns out there may not be a happy ending.
