  4. The rear is not even close - I am sure a couple CG photo choppers could do a way better job and be 99% accurate. :AH-HA_wink:
  5. No he just has a big mouth or fat fingers. "W" has more insight on the middle east then he has in automotive.

Nuff said: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...?showtopic=2260 Now that we have gone full circle!
  7. And don't forget that RW in his capacity as Chairman has to represent the other 90% of GM shareholders!
  8. It is Wagoner's job as Chairman of the BOD and CEO to represent the company.

Real world torque steer is not going to be eliminated especially once the weather gets sloppy. The power curve of the V6 and I was looking at the current 3.6 would also help with that. No the SS did worse in the IIHS offset test last I looked at the results. The added chunk of metal up front appears to add stiffness and reduce crush in the test. IIHS no longer publishes the crash data (I think) so I do not know much or where the dummy injury measurements differs.

The V8 will:1) Added weight over the front wheels. 2) Torque steer that really cannot be dialed out with wheel combinations. 3) Reduced crashworthiness. 4) Will deliver less real world fuel economy Note: I doubt you have driven either the 3.6 or a W with an 8 therefore I take your power & smooth, silky easy statement as an unverified opinion.

So GM can make it look like a proper Buick. http://news.u-car.com.tw/news-detail.asp?nid=4431 But to bad the Chinese got the proper Buick first. http://news.u-car.com.tw/news-detail.asp?nid=4075
  12. I am heading to bed. I got it and will reply. Revolutionary
  13. I float on everything other than the NT. It all depends on what I am thinking at the time I take the test. I LOVE personality tests. Recently I was in training and took a version of the Enneagram test. And I scored what I would think the equivalent of an NT. I did find a link on the net after I researched your post and plan to take it again. Oh mister Kiersey did not like my old web site.

    On the Blacktop

Thanks, Oldsmoboi. You save me the trouble of disputing some of the assertions in the BMs, article. In particular those relating to the product. I was going to use the examples you mentioned.

Now...well if I were a consultant to GM dealers I would be honest with them and tell them exactly what the situation is.

    On the Blacktop

I thought for the most part the article was accurate though coming from the perpective of a dealer. GM has too many dealers as a result GM dealers as individual entities must wake up because they need to consolodate just like the rest of automotivdom. Any dealer that does not see that will have to close up shop. In many ways that would be good for GM and the rest of the dealer body. Also the combined GMC-B-P dealer store is very good and ultimately will help the dealer. As the market swings back and forth in vehicle type prefences the dealer can capitalize on those swings. i.e. Fullsize car sales died because of suvs, hence it does not make sense to offer 4 Buick sedan brands. But if the dealer can pick up that volume in Envoys and Yukons it make the sales network stronger. This also allows GM to invest in the brands where the market is strong without forcing the dealer to sell badge engineered product because the dealer is screaming for product. We are in another market swing because of fuel cost. Holes can be plugged in the combined dealer by Pontiac and Buick offering smaller vehicles.
  17. Oh Croc - but I am I/E-NT-P/J I used to have a boot leg website where people could take the test for free. I collected lots of data on may people. Some interesting results.
  18. Are you refering to KK, kicking the bucket?
  19. I think that is the point of me posting the article, for people to read it. If you actually read it you might understand the situation just a little bit better.
  20. http://media.gm.com/servlet/GatewayServlet...=74&docid=27165 FOR RELEASE: 2006-07-07 GM To Proceed With Exploratory Discussions With Renault, Nissan North American turnaround strategy remains top priority DETROIT - The General Motors Board of Directors today endorsed a recommendation by the company's senior management that it engage in exploratory discussions with Renault and Nissan regarding GM's potential participation in an alliance among the three companies. "The GM Board of Directors authorized management to proceed with its plan to consider ideas the other two companies have and to weigh the potential benefits of such an alliance in order to assist the Board in its decision making," said GM Director George Fisher. "Management will keep the Board well informed and the directors, of course, will closely monitor the process to assure that its outcome serves the best interests of all GM shareholders. The Board continues to fully support the company's North American turnaround strategy, and we encourage management to also continue its efforts to conclude a satisfactory resolution of the issues associated with the Delphi bankruptcy and to complete the pending GMAC transaction." The Board action was taken in response to a request made by Tracinda Corporation, one of GM's larger shareholders, and to expressions of interest made public by the respective boards of Renault and Nissan. GM Chairman Rick Wagoner will lead the company's effort to conduct exploratory talks with the managements of Renault and Nissan. "General Motors has a lot of experience with different types of alliances, and some have provided significant benefits to GM's competitive position and financial strength," said Wagoner. "We will enter into discussions with the managements of Renault and Nissan with an open mind - eager to hear their ideas of how an alliance between our companies might work to our mutual benefit. Given the complexity of any potential relationship, it has to be carefully considered on its merits before coming to any conclusion. We are committed to an objective and thorough review of that potential." Wagoner noted that when the idea of joining an alliance with Renault and Nissan was first suggested to him, he promptly contacted Carlos Ghosn and the two leaders agreed to meet at a mutually convenient time to have an initial exploratory discussion. "We periodically receive interesting proposals and we owe it to the company and its shareholders to explore how they might work, and to objectively weigh the potential benefits and issues that each might present," Wagoner said. "That is exactly what we recommended to the GM Board in this specific case, and exactly what it has agreed we should do." In the meantime, both Wagoner and Fisher noted that it is crucial for General Motors to stay focused on implementing its North American turnaround strategy. "We announced this strategy about one year ago, and have made tremendous progress in implementing all the key initiatives," Wagoner said. "The positive results from these major actions are already evident. We have some major items that we are working on right now that are important to our continued progress, including the Delphi restructuring and the GMAC transaction. So there's plenty more work to do to return our North American operations to sustained profitability. We remain focused on achieving this as quickly as possible."
  21. But I think an Escalade built off lambda with a blown Northstar could do it. Even Rush Limbaugh might get UP for something like that.
  22. LOL - Sarcasm duly noted.
  23. LOL - And he is very good at what he does! He is full of $hit. I guess that is why he is called the BM. Either way good catch. You caught the BM in a blatant lie.
