  1. 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale- 120,xxx....it still runs and drives...but needs a ground up resto, New York winters for 27 years have put a major hurting on it. 1995 Buick Riviera- 69,970....I bought it 2 months ago with 64,924 on it....so 5K in 2 months
  2. not that I know of, but if there is one for a Gen I 3800 SC, please let me know
  3. Thanks 76....now that you mention it, that does seem like the most likely case here...I noticed the car sqeaks now when I go over a bump....it sounds like the left front strut tower....You know I'm so used to the easy to reach basic layout of my 79 Delta....now I'm beginning to remember why I always bought old cars before
  4. The dealer I bought it from had it inspected....and the car showed no signs of problems when I test drove it and bought it....if it did, I owuld have either had them fixed before buying the car or not have bought the car at all
  5. yeah I was thinking ball joint or something...I may bring it to Mavis as I know someone there.... thanks for the idea, anyone else have any suggestions?
  6. Ok fellas, here's the deal. Some of you may know I recently bought a 1995 Riviera and in the 2 months I've had it, I've had to replace my boost solenoid, my radiator, and my ABS control modulator went (which I am not replacing) and now this....when the car is parked, and running...whether on level ground or a grade, and the wheels are pointed straight ahead...there is play in the steering wheel and a "tud" can be heard and felt in the floorboard. also when making a right hand turn at higher speeds you can hear this "pop" or "tud" as you are coming out of the turn and straightening out again....Anbody know what this could be? Also I've notcied that if you sit with the car running for a while and then put it in gear and start moving, you can hear a "moan" but it sounds like its coming from a wheel and not the tranny, but I can't narrow down where this is coming from either. Please any and all input is appreciated
  7. is your 3800 Supercharged? if so it may be your boost solenoid, I just had to change mine in Riviera as the car felt like it had no power and the service engine soon light came on... But I believe there is something else wrong with my car now, as it still accelerates like $h!
  8. Just got Firefox.....nice browser....fast loads...I like it, and I'm on wireless with a low signal
  9. Curry Chevrolet here in Westchester New York, has had the same c6 Vette's sitting out front for months.....they have about 3 or 4 of them....and no one has bought them
  10. 1978 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight and 1985 Chrysler Fifth Ave
  11. Sounds like a solid lineup....although I'm more in favor of traditional Olds names.... I would have Aurora 88 would be LSS Cutlass/ 4-4-2 Alero SUV...Bravada?
  12. Also new quad headlights...I believe a revised grille and some other cosmetic work
  13. glad your mom walked away and wasn't seriously hurt.....good luck with a replacement
  14. It looks better in black and white...those tail lights are ugly
  15. I am a die hard Olds man....but I just bought a Buick Riviera and my one big reason for doing so was because it is the closet thing to an Olds IMO and there were no good deals on Olds around here when I needed to find another car quick....and to be honest I'd rather have another Oldsmobile now....damn you GM
  16. Damn Fly, sorry to see this...glad you're ok, but I hate to see any Olds smashed up.....good luck with the repairs
  17. Yes while the grille's have a similar oval shape....that is about the only similarity between them....and maybe a little of the coke bottle sides....but thats about it...IMO....I need to see a rear shot of the Jag and maybe a straight on profile view to see any other similarities or lack thereof
  18. As an owner of that body style Riviera....I am flattered that you would think Jag drew inspiration from my car...but dude......seriously you must be joking right?
  19. Hey Sixty...I would prefer Park Ave Ventiports vs. the new style....I've seen Riv's with Park Ave ones before and it looks nice
  20. been thinking of putting them on my Riviera.....don't kill me can someone maybe try to chop them onto a Riviera like mine so I can get an idea....I've seen Rivs with them before...but can't find them anywhere now
  21. That is just a disgrace
  22. Well I have a supercharged series I 3.8 with 68K on it, and while it does have some balls to it, the midrange is very sluggish even with the supercharger....that could have something to do with the tranny, but other than a somewhat boring mid-range, I'm quite impressed with the power of the 3.8, and this is coming from a guy who only drove Oldsmobiles with Rockets in them. the 3.8 in my Riviera could stand to use a little more mid-range torque and possibly the m90 supercharger vs. the m65 I believe that is in there.
  23. c'mon guys, anybody know if this swap will work? or even a Northstar V8?
  24. guys I just have a quick question, will an Aurora V8 fit in a 1995 Riviera? and if so........ :AH-HA_wink:
  25. Although we have never engaged in a conversation in any one particular thread, I do enjoy reading your posts and wish you the best....long live AH-HA!
