Ram News: 2013 Ram 3500 Now Tows Up To 30,000 Pounds
Delta Force79 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
The Ram 1500 is already racking up awards and praise, and the HD's are swinging for the fences and it would appear that Ram has basically just rammed ( pun intended) itself to best full size truck on the market. I wonder what the Silverado and Sierra have up their sleeves. -
That was true for a very long time, but the new MKZ looks nothing like a Fusion, so hopefully that's the first step in finally giving Lincoln it's own identity with each subsequent model they release. I find the new MKZ very distinctive and appealing from the A-pillar back. I think the front needs some work, but it overall its great design and hopefully a sign of good things to come.

I never would have thought a tractor honestly, the shift gate reminds me of old Ferrari's just from memory. I haven't actually looked it up to do a true comparison. Cool find though, interesting.

Dodge News: Rumorpile: Challenger To Stay On, Barrcuda To Take SRT
Delta Force79 replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
It worked for many years back in the day, and everyone was pretty much doing it. I see no reason for it to be any different today, the key is to offer unique styling and features for each model. Simple badge engineering may not work today, but giving the consumer variety that's actually worth a damn is always at the very least a sign that you mean business, that you want to give people a reason to look at your products. With the amount of good buzz going around Chrysler right now, now is the time to cash in. I personally love the Challenger as it is, and really see no need for a major stylistic change, except on the interior. The interior has always been the one setback with the current Challenger, they stayed so close to the concept on the exterior and totally cheapened out of the interior they don't even seem to belong together in the least. The current dashboard looks like it came out of an '80's econobox. If they design a dash more like what the original Challenger had, with their current crop of higher grade materials and fit and finish, the rest of the Challenger could remain basically unchanged IMO.- 21 replies

I think that Camino's choice is certainly a high contender for the number 1 spot, but going back a few years this represents a serious mistake and one that would pretty much ruin it's name. The sad thing is my grandfather bought one of these new in '96 and I inherited it after his death in 2002. It was well maintained and always dealer serviced and yet needed a new transmission at around 45K miles. Mind you, the transmission had begun to show signs of trouble some 10-15k miles before it finally was replaced. The 3rd gen Taurus truly was an ugly POS.

Good to know its not a Chrome issue then, as I've been having trouble using Twitter on Chrome and have had to go back to Firefox to view Twitter when I'm bored.

I've noticed in the last week or so that the side-bar on the main forums that contained the various sections for the garage and tid-bits is missing. I'm not sure if this is an issue that has sprung up due to an error in my browser ( Chrome) or a design change to the forum.

This is now my 11th year on C&G, its amazing how quick the time went by, and how many people have come and gone. As always Bobo, this year's installment of Cheers And Jeers is a fun year in review to read. I do miss the design competitions and chop threads, I know we still have some great artists here, I hope to see more activity in that area in 2013. I'd like to thank Olds and Mud for their continued efforts to keep C&G running and informative. It's great the see how far this site has come since the early days, in terms of being granted media access at the auto shows, being given cars to test from various manufacturers and so on. We may not be the largest automotive site, but C&G remains my favorite and the only one I visit daily for my automotive news. Here's to many more years

Thanks, I'm just hoping the Z-71 package is truly available on the RC models, I was only able to add it when choosing those particular wheels starting off with a base LT model. After seeing ocn's choice there is just something about the SB model that seems off to me, it seems a little too squished for my tastes, but it is a fantastic color which is why I choose it as and either / or for me with the black.

Just resave it as a different file type, like jpg.

I learned how to drive stick on a friend's 2002 Acura RSX Type-S, they should have called it an Integra IMO, but it was a fun quick little car. It was way too small for me and it was a pain to work the cluth cause of my bad knee and being cramped, but it was fairly easy to master.

Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: Is This The 2014 Corvette's Rear End?
Delta Force79 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
I think the Code 130 is a great looking car as is, I would take one in a heartbeat as long as I was comfortable driving it. I'm so used to full size cars I even felt cramped in a last gen Grand Prix rental a few years back. But getting back to the Code, I think it's a great relief to see a classic three box design on a car again in this age of "4 door coupes" and everything with sweeping rooflines ending nearly at the edge of the deck lid. -
GM News: General Motors To Differentiate Next-Gen SUVs
Delta Force79 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
I think this is exactly what we can expect with the upcoming SUV's. I was never a fan of the more car-like dash in the current trucks, it was way too bland. I'm hoping they don't go down the conservative route this time. -

Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: Is This The 2014 Corvette's Rear End?
Delta Force79 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
If you want a V6 buy a Camaro, Corvette should not have to downgrade itself to appeal to the masses. Just make a badass 'Vette that blows the doors off it's competition and call it a day. -
I'll take the white painted metal...

Infiniti News: Infiniti Changes Their Nomenclature To Q and QX
Delta Force79 replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
What a waste of time and money on marketing. The G sedan and coupes are already established with a fan base, why go through this new naming BS. If this is Nissan's way of trying to attract 007 by naming all their models with a Q prefix, I don't think it'll work. -
I began collecting Motor Trend in the early 90's along with all brochures from the NY auto shows every April, but by the time I moved out when I was 17, I left my collection behind at my father's old apartment. It has since all been thrown out without my knowledge at the time when my father bought a new house. Thats an impressive collection Camino, I'm especially interested in the older ones from the 70's and 80's. I wish there was an easy way to catalog all of them for easy viewing online somehow before you get rid of them. It's a shame to see them possibly go to waste after all these years in storage, but i can understand your reasoning.

Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra Live Reveal
Delta Force79 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
To say this new model has nothing in common with the outgoing model is ridiculous to put it mildly. My eyeballs work just fine, near perfect vision actually, and they are pretty damn similar. -
Or just call it what it is, an M6 sedan...

Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra Live Reveal
Delta Force79 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
In general a truck with new styling to reflect that it is a totally new truck vs a new truck that appears more to look like a refresh of the old one. With all the new features it deserved it's own look and not just a rehash of the old one. What if they had redone a totally new Impala and it just looked like the one we have had for years? Not a smart move. Only the 911 and Mini can get away with this kind of styling. ...and the Beetle. As I said earlier, these trucks are what the 07's should have been, I suspect alot of the general buying public will simply see these as mere refreshes, regardless of the changes to the dirty bits. These will be on the market now for at least another 7-8 years which will make the basic design around 14 years old at the very least before we can expect a significant change, -
