  1. David, WELCOME my friend! So happy you will be getting a GM vehicle, they have excellent products. I would consider the Impala myself over the G6 with the 4 cylinder, having said that either is an excellent option and the 2.4L Ecotec would have plenty of pep. I own a 2001 Impala wife's current car and love its size and great smooth ride (almost to floaty). I don't know if you have consider a new 2006 Lucerne CX that hasn't been sold yet, you might be able to almost steal one of those, they are an excellent car as well. If I went G6 I would opt for the V6 model or the GT trim, personally. Then again I am not on that tight of a budget when getting a car. The Vibe is a good choice but with options can get VERY pricey, and yes the motor is Toyota and only 1.8L's. The HHR is a great vehicle with excellent under-pinnings but styling is love it or hate. A Torrent is an excellent choice too, as I am kicking around getting a new GXP Torrent in the summer/fall for the wife who wants an SUV and let my son have the Impala. Look for a 2006 that is new on the lot never sold you can really make out pretty good cause it is the 'old' model year and were into MARCH! Good luck shopping hope it was a help, do look a the Lucerne CX they are an excellent car with a great platform and the 3800 has a darn nice power-band. Then again I am biased I drive a 2005 Bonneville SLE with a 3800!
  2. I would love to see this thing. Maybe the DTS will live! My future Cadillac line-up... Dream List CAR'S BLS-Midsize Sedan FWD/AWD 25-35K BLS-Estate-Midsize Wagon FWD/AWD 25-25K CTS-Midsize Sports Sedan RWD/AWD 30-45K CTS-C-Midsize Sports Coupe RWD 35K-45K CTS-V-Midsize Sports Sedan RWD 50K DTS-Fullsize Traditional Sedan FWD 40-60K **like Deville** FLS-Fullsize RWD Ultra Luxury Sedan V12 75K-90K XLR-Luxury Roadster RWD 75-80K XLR-V-Luxury Roadster RWD 95K SUV'S BRX-Smaller SUV FWD/AWD 30K-40K SRX-Midsize Performance SUV RWD/AWD 40K-55K Escalade,ESV,EXT-Fullsize Luxury SUV RWD/AWD 55K-75K What we will prolly get... CAR'S CTS CTS-V DTS FLS SUV's Escalade,ESV,EXT SRX? BRX? I think keeping a traditional FWD Cadillac (DTS) and sharing the cost of developement with Lucerne would be wise I would love a new FWD platform, maybe losely Lambada based? And you could export it as other makes... Or send it over to Japan and China from the Detriot-Hamtrack plant.
  3. I think we might see a Chevy Silverado SS.
  4. Looks great man! Nice job catching them, where was this? I think they look like a wonderful CUV!
  5. I couldn't be happier now that I have seen the new Malibu to take over as sales leader, the Impala will be great on RWD! Give me an Impala SS in White with beige interior and chrome wheels, and a BIG A$$ V8!
  6. Finally a re-vamp I hope the fix the crony certain consoule. (SP)
  7. Who cares I am excited! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaho!
  8. GM will have the 5/100 on it! That is good news backing up your products!
  9. Really Northie that is good news. Do you folks know how many gears are in the automatic tranny?
  10. I wouldn't mind one. All it needs is a 2.4L Ecotec!
  11. I am happy GM is using global resources so long as the car is made in NA I don't really care. When will we get to see the concept or showcar verison of this?
  12. Seriously I don't know the Aveo and Aura Greenline are a start I guess.
  13. I agree about being richer, but I still don' dislike the color. I just can't wait till its stateside.
  14. Yeah I was feeling the same thing, man. I was impressed with my work although it didn't take much.
  15. I found this photo on Holden's site and did some chopping, removing logos and adding Pontiac logo's on the wheels and also got rid of the SS-V spoiler and created a small 'fin' spoiler. Tell me what you think of these, and please feel free to save them! Make sure you tell me what you think of them, this is very close to the production verison and I am loving the color! ENJOY!
  16. Excellent read, I can't wait for the G8! By the way I love that color.
  17. I agree with the two posts above. Is it 4 or 6 speed automatic anyone know?
  18. But when shopping for a car on a budget price plays a bigger role than you think and the Aura is very competive to the new Camry in all aspects. So I don't know maybe people figure if I drive hard the mpg won't be great anyways so it won't really matter.
  19. Yup I know what you meant.
  20. I understand but it there are serious about moving RWD cars they might need more than that plant. Seriously I still find charm in American cars made in America. I udnerstand your point the plant in Oshawa would handle the demand fine for the projections.
  21. I would watch out for these guys, if anyone was to top Toyota it will be this smaller Korean giant. I wouldn't write it off either the Azera proved how good they could build a Buick, and they did a better job than Toyota and at a better price point than both the Avalon and Lucerne. The fuel economy blows tho, no I don't like near as much as the organically styled Lucerne but it was an excellent atempt! Seriously GM needs to watch out and price the G8 right! I don't think Hyundai is ready for this yet, having said that if they put in around 30-33K they might sell. Then again they might not be ready to move that FAR up market. The Azera might have been a push. Once they get bigger it would be an even safer bet and better idea. Guess who is biting at Toyota's heals? Hyundai not Honda.
  22. The tree huggers will be happy! Good job guys, those numbers might be with the new EPA rating right? Is it a 4 or 6 speed automatic?
  23. The man above nailed I am sure it was the same display used at the 07 Chicago Autoshow and it was WAY overdone.
  24. Excellent read I really enjoyed it. The good days GM once had I think might be starting to come again, the Camaro, Enclave and new CTS prove it! I never knew that much about Bill Mitchell, he really did have a soft spot. I wish I could have watched those show-cars drive through suburban Detriot.
  25. Ahh good so Toyota isn't perfect! GO
