GM News: Rumorpile: GM Puts Next-Generation Pickups On Rush
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Their Marketing has helped them be the sales leader, but their technology and what they do inside the trucks is heavily dated. The worst plastic old look I have ever seen with so few real innovations.- 20 replies

GM News: Rumorpile: GM Puts Next-Generation Pickups On Rush
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Other news stories state the trucks and Yukon will get the 8sp first and then Cadillac will get it a few month behind them. It might have been automotive news that stated it or one of the other auto mags. That is what I read and how I interpret it.I would think they would move them all at the same time.- 20 replies

GM News: Rumorpile: GM Puts Next-Generation Pickups On Rush
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Very cool to hear they are speeding up the rollout. I am very excited to see the 8 spd go into the SUV's. Escalade is delayed by 3-6 months which makes me wonder if they will go with a 9spd transmission for the Escalade to differentiate them from the Yukon and Tahoe line.- 20 replies

Chevrolet News:Spying: Chevrolet Malibu Gets Some Drastic Changes
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
i certainly did not mean less trunk space. i guess meant that they need to extend and lengthen the green house, and reduce the length of the trunk deck. Disagree with you here, all auto's that have extended the stupid coupe look green house and reduced the deck lid also reduced access to get things into the trunk. You need a decent size deck so you can get stuff easily into the trunk. Coupes do not cut it. -

Not sure which I like more, I have to lean towards the VOLT as the Ampera just does not look good to me with that funky nose.

Buick News: Buick Envision Teased, Premieres In China Later This Year
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
I can see this coming to America, a butch upped wagon as a CUV with higher seating position. The interior is lovely and the exterior actually is very pleasing. I can see this in America on the roads here in AWD form. Interesting Engine Spec's Envision will be powered by a 2.0 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 260hp and 353nm or 260Lb-Ft or torque, sending power all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. -
Interesting but in looking through the MSN auto section, they had this video by Inside Cars where they show some cool things like Tesla battery swap process, but better yet, is that Consumer Reports who has been Anti-American on Auto's supposedly just gave Ram Trucks the coveted Recommended Buy over Ford or Toyota Trucks. They also Recommend Chevy Impala as the best buy in America. http://video.msn.com?vid=59096624-a012-4c38-3f3e-8fa37f94c12f&mkt=en-us&src=CPSmall:shareBar:permalink:search_usage&from=cp^en-us So what do you think?

The CTS-V is coming next year. Even the Germans release their Hi-Po versions a year or 2 after the pedestrian model comes out. Except the S63 AMG that came out the same model year as the S550, and the S600 and S65 were released 6 months later. On the S-class coupe the AMG versions available right away. BMW is a bit slower though. Plus lets get back to reality. S versions do not compete with ATS, CTS or SRX. In comparing the equal class cars, Cadillac is more than competitive and clearly has many positives that you ignore and then point to higher class cars.

Chevrolet News:Spying: Chevrolet Malibu Gets Some Drastic Changes
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
FAILURE!, Sorry to all those that love this whole coupe thing, but the loss of headroom, the squashed look of the rear. I do not care if Europe thinks it is great, these cars suck for big people and families. I do not see any positive gains on it even from an MPG standpoint. This screams to me of just following the lemming heard and will cause a hard small opening to the trunk. DESIGN FAILURE in My Book. -
You know, if GM would come out with one, say a stage 1 or something like that and it would not cause any problems with the warranty, that is something I would jump at if the price was right. I wouldn't want to take a chance on something aftermarket. I used to be like you only wanting to use GM products on my auto's but after trying Jet chips and a few others found that most are very solid and as such you can gain considerable HP / Torque along with MPG. Check these out for the Diesel Cruze. http://www.chipexpress.com/products/chevrolet/cruze/ http://www.chipmydiesel.com/products/diesel-chip-tuning/chevrolet/cruze-d/1722.html http://www.inmotionusa.com/website/domestic.html This company tunes the chip for you and sends it back to you, there is many good comments here on this forum. http://www.cruzetalk.com/forum/64-chevy-cruze-diesel-general-discussion/28057-chip-tune-diesel-cruze.html Their Video I like this one best. http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/fleece/chevy-cruze-diesel-tuner.htm Just some reading for you to consider.

Opel/Vauxhall News: Opel CEO Talks Up New EV
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Opel/Vauxhall
I actually wish they would take the Tesla style of 200 mile range and keep a generator so that you get a decent 400-600 mile range out of the auto or longer. That would really help move people away from traditional gas only powered auto's. I believe the VOLT powertrain would be best used in CUV/SUV applications.- 6 replies

You might have a problem getting it in the color and engine choice you want! -
Totally agree with SMK that VW could take over FCA and streamline it by eliminating duplication, but if the company thinks it can cut its way to prosperity, they are in for a rude surprise and major failure.
