  1. Totally Disagree with you, my Trailbazer SS handles better than many sports cars. LoL....maybe 50 year old sports cars on bias-ply tires... He is not totally incorrect. This was eight years ago: - Not a faint praise for a vehicle conceived in possibly the worst of GM's phase. I have had my 2008 AWD SS Trailblazer consistently in the 120-140 range and it was firm and planted and handled curvy roads. A new Mustang could not keep up with me on the North Cascade Highway, considered one of the 10 best drives in North America. The only cars to fly by me was a Corvette ZR1 and they were thumbs up on my driving and a Porsche GT3. If you have never driven a Trailblazer SS, you need to as it is an amazing ride for a SUV body on a Corvette Setup.
  2. Just got back from taking my parents to dinner. I am really impressed with how smooth handling and quiet the new CTS is over the 1st generation. The car is really surprising me and I believe Cadillac would benefit by having more road shows of letting people compare CTS to 5 series / e class and ATS to 3 series / c class. Cadillac really stomps on the Germans.
  3. Guess now that there is nothing really critical that clearly sets ATS and BMW 3 series apart they have to nit pick and the only thing they could find was back seat because all the 3 series lovers are now fat married and wish they had more room. Time to go to the CTS but then these folks probably cannot really afford a 5 series and they will still complain due to how much better the CTS is over the 5 series.
  4. Not sure I totally agree with you SMK as the ELR's are hard to keep in stock here at the dealerships. So I would have to say they are selling.
  5. Yes, I meant to say against the 5 series and E series but like everyone so many years of the CTS being against the 3 series and C series.
  6. G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Toyota i-ROAD EV So in looking around at what other EV auto's were being talked about, I found Toyota has a 3 wheel bike that is enclosed called the i-ROAD. Powered by two 2kW 2.7HP motors using lithium-ion battery pack good for a range of 26 miles of inner city driving. EV.COM states that according to Toyota, the 2016 world wide version will have a 31 mile range based on an average speed of 18mph. The following video shows the i-ROAD in use around Toyota City. What are your thoughts, does the i-ROAD have a chance of making it in a global market?
  7. So my Escalade rear tail gate would not open. Suspect the electronic switch failed. I wish they still had key access as I had to climb over to unload my stuff I had loaded into the Escalade yesterday when I got home. Took it in and they gave me a new 2014 CTS4 2.0T to drive. Initial reactions: Car is great in Touring mode, more responsive in Sport mode but also more noticeable turbo lag. Love the center stack with touch screen very intuitive and easy to use. Lower portion that opens and shows the hidden storage / charging bay was noisy. Surprised for a new auto with only 2500 miles on it. Rest of the leather, fit and finish was really nice. Enjoyed the Paddle shifters. Was fun to use. Dash is simply lovely. Cadillac really has stepped up their game and give a superior dash over BMW or MB. Looked in the trunk, nice and big. Opened up the small door to the battery and wondered how they get the battery in without taking out the full carpet. Charcoal metallic paint is very nice. Sky roof is awesome. Wish it had NAV, but at least I have XM. Touch screen is very responsive and over all I like the interface. Annoying is the lane departure warning and the rumble seat affect. Annoying is also the blind spot that constantly senses cars on the freeway and flashes. I see this as a major distraction that will cause more accidents than it will help prevent. Over all, I have to say the new CTS are very nice and superior in many ways over the BMW 3 series or MB C class.
  8. I have been noticing that the fords and Mazda's sure have dirty carbon exhuast pipes. I thought the idea behind EcoBoost was to have cleaner emissions and yet I noticed in walking from work to the bus stop that many Fords and a few Mazda's all have very dirty tail pipes.
  9. The whole CAFE thing is pathetic and yet as you point out, the 500 and Dart are not lowering low Mileage footprint fast enough so I think this could be the last Hurrah for a big strong V8.
  10. If that picture is the DC100 then I have to say I like that look. Strong Solid looking SUV Brick. Interesting to see what the new body style will be for the Defender.
  11. 1) America exists in and of itself...and we are self destructive, allowing false perceptions and antiquated beliefs lead us killing our entire industrial capacity if it meant saving a foreign one. 2) The Toyota Camry outsells all other cars in it's class by a margin of 3:1. Being #1 only means that there are more POSs Camrys on the road in my effin way Well Stated, Lovely, Truly Lovely! +100
  12. SWEET That is one AWESOME Car! Truly American and Truly probably one of the last Big V8 sedans we will see.
  13. For me, many know I am an SUV person, so the Platinum edition is my LTS or S class, 7 series, A8, etc of auto's. I still love my 2006 Escalade ESV Platinum and have come to really like the new 2015 models. I could see myself in a Purple ESV Platinum edition.
  14. I love the column mounted shifter but I could also enjoy the button or dial. I would HATE if they put in a floor shifter into the Escalade!
  15. Cool thanks for posting. Nice Truck. I think the GMC still looks better.
  16. Lewis black once said something to the effect that if politicians got any worse we would be voting for plants and rocks. Good to see that we are progressing nicely towards that goal. Meanwhile, let's hope he picks a Powerstroke as his next vehicle. Why, what is so wrong with a Cummins or DuraMax?
  17. Totally Disagree with you, my Trailbazer SS handles better than many sports cars.
  18. This is a hit for GM and will be part of a much bigger portfolio of family members. Just give it time and even the haters will love it.
  19. Very Cool and Lovely. Too bad you just did not upload to the web site as the pictures I cannot see from Flicker, so had to go out and see the news release to see the pictures. So the Platinum edition is a great bargain considering that they have not really changed the price for a normal Escalade or the ESV version since I bought my Platinum ESV in 2006. This is worth having!
