LA Auto Show: Cadillac ATS-V: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Love the Rear Spoiler, talk about some great down force at higher speeds. Over all very impressed with the auto. Just wish it would be big enough to fit Shrek comfortable enough for road trips. Still it should sell very well.- 46 replies

LA Auto Show: Mazda CX-3 Crossover: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Perfection to some I guess. Interior is Bland Boring and comes off as Cheap to me. The center stack looks like it is missing stuff. Exterior just does not work for me. Nice that they have a long hood deck but over all the product line all looks the same and just blends in with the auto industry trend of generic disposable appliances. I could not recommend Mazda to anyone. Bland, Boring un-inspiring! -
LA Auto Show: 2016 Ford Explorer: Comments

I like the interior much better than past models. Exterior is fine but blends in with every other CUV out there. Nice but does not stand apart from the pack.- 5 replies

What a waste of time and money to show off a car they sell in Europe but will not bring here. The journalist should boycott them.- 2 replies

Toyota News: Toyota's Fuel Cell Vehicle Has A Name and Price
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
Be interesting to see what happens in an accident with that 28,000 PSI Tank or that was the pressure they were using last time I read the details. I know they are now working on low pressure tanks that would be between 6000 and 10000 PSI, but it will be interesting. I find the Honda version funny as they state their auto will come with two 350 atmosphere tanks. Course guess that low number sounds better than 6000 PSI. -
So far based on info supplied I say Audi wins between these two systems. Interesting. I wish there was an update on GM and using the Google system.

Toyota News: Toyota's Fuel Cell Vehicle Has A Name and Price
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
WOW still ugly as the first day it was shown. Surprised they are selling these cars. Wonder just how much Toyota is going to loose on each auto in the attempt to capture markets. The interior is just as ugly and how unsafe can you get for a dash that makes you have to change focus from looking straight ahead to looking 45 degrees to your right. Poor interior design, I question the safety of this auto design. As they say Strange Time we Live In! -
And like most MB owners could not park worth a darn. How do people not pull into the parking spot, then straighten out for less door dings, easier backing out when leaving, etc. Just screams, look at my PHAT Ass and I think I am better than you. Ugly, Ugly Car.

Lincoln News: Lincoln MKC, MKZ Don The Black Label
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Lincoln
Not impressed, over priced ford auto's badged as Lincolns that will not justify the label or so called service. Yes I know some will take me to task saying they look nothing like the Fords, but you can clearly see that they are fords and even the interiors showed it. At the Seattle auto show I was shocked at how tight even the full size SUV was so not for big people.- 4 replies

LA Auto Show: Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
We'll Nice looking car but it reminds me of a Fish. Interior especially the center stack looks FAT, pathetic little screen on what I assume is the radio. Stupid Plastic circle vents showing the cheap side of Ford. Nice but I would not waste money on the car. Actually disappointed in FORD and how they continue to keep with a cheap looking dash.- 8 replies

Interesting, so the holy grail of Land Rover has the ability in the DNA but you are not granted permission to really go off road and use it. Kinda goes with how 99% of them never leave the assphalt so they never really can prove they can handle the off road. Guess they see value like GMC does in building products that can compete with a Rubicon Wrangler.

LA Auto Show: Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Interesting engine, Since the Pistons are not at a 90 to each other then this is not a V8 engine but a Flat 8 engine based on the info they supplied. Makes the engine sound very wide but low top. Any pictures of this new Flat 8 Engine? The pictures really do nothing for the auto, be cool to see real pictures of this car and especially the power train. Any idea of what the Transmission will be in this auto?- 8 replies

G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Zero Emission Auto's, are they truly Greener than Gas? Many people here know me as a CNG person. Some will say electric is greener than CNG and Gas. We know CNG is cleaner than GAS, but is pure electric truly greener than CNG or gas? I have talked about how much CO2 is produced during the battery building stage for these pure electric cars. I have also pointed out that in places where Coal is used for creating energy, electric is dirty compared to CNG or Gas. Yes living in the Pacific Northwest, Washington has an abundance of Hydro and wind power, so Electric cars are very green. Even in the south, Southwest where solar is a huge factor, electric is pretty green. Yet once you move to the Midwest and East-coast, Electric auto's become far dirtier than normal gas powered auto's and CNG or Hybrids like the Chevy VOLT are cleaner than electric auto's. Yes you have nuclear in select areas but even than you have the waste from these plants that cause issues. So then are Zero Emission Auto's truly the Green Dream for everyone? Lucky for me, the LA Times finally did a research piece on just this thing and after looking at the history or power use and places that electric cars have been used came to the same conclusion I did that depending on how the electricity is generated, electric auto's can be cleaner or dirtier than gas, cng or hybrid auto's. http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-1117-graff-electric-cars-policy-20141114-story.html 1) The story says by 2019 or half a decade, electric auto's will outsell the Toyota Camry. 2) The story says sales will only grow as long as the $7500 fed subsidy is in place for now. 3) Green all depends on where the electricity comes from. 4) EPA has doubled the fuel MPG by 2025. 5) EPA is developing a clean power plan for electricity production. 6) 100 years ago, electric auto's were the dominate product which was replaced by gas and now it coming full circle to be a dominate player. 7) This is a major push all due to Climate Change. Sound off, do you agree with what is stated here? Yes or No Where do you see electric auto's fitting in? Is there a valid reason to go CNG or Hybrid over electric? Is range anxiety a valid reason or just an excuse? What are your thoughts on a logical progression for the auto industry for powertrains?

It's not a Prius rebadge. It's a Corolla. Got it, I can see that now that I looked at the Toyota web site, but my initial response is they just rebadged a Prius. Both look like this, talk about bad badging. Body by Prius and Nose by Corolla. Prius 2015 Corolla -

Oh come on, they aren't that much different than the old style. The advantage that the promaster has it that the bumpers are very easy to replace though LOL, Just stating what the guy said to me. I thought it was interesting.

Cadillac Files Trademarks for CT2-CT8, XT2-XT8
G. David Felt replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
This scares me. I hope Johan is not going to make competitors for X1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and whatever SUV Norbert Reithofer dreams of while taking a dump. I can understand that a company would want to cover the whole range and I agree with you that I hope the incoming idiot does not just follow the German Lemmings off the cliff. That would be bad for Cadillac. -

Wonder how the Denali line up sells against the M or AMG series. Yes Denali is not performance but it is a special trim level, so I have to figure they sell more than those other two overblown trims.- 8 replies
