  1. WOW, Heavy look of a Ford but with even weirder areas like the headlights. Seems to be a very weird truck. Nothing original, if you want this in a better trim go check out the fords.
  2. Awesome, very nice 2.0 version. Love the dash. Just wish they had pushed for a 100 mile range plus the generator so you could have a 500 mile car.
  3. Ineresting design, I like the openness of the interior with the sky roof. I wonder if it will be able to accept a DC Quick Charge so you can get 80% in 30 min or less?
  4. Came across this story about Ferrari beating Bugatti and it is very cool to watch. Interesting is that in the quarter mile you do see that the Ferrari is a couple car lengths ahead but as they hit the finish line and keep going the bugatti closes the gap. Makes one wonder who would really win in a mile long race. https://fr.news.yahoo.com/laferrari-demolishes-bugatti-veyron-drag-race-video-135004475.html
  5. Actually they do have Home versions. Even Nissan is now selling a home DC Quick Charger 480V, 44kW max for the Nissan Leaf, stating 80% charged in 30 min. Technical Spec 480V, 3 Phase 50/60Hz 44kW power output 1yr warranty. Most of the DC Quick Charger solutions can be installed at home, mostly I think it will be the price that keeps people from doing it. Nissan DC Quick Charge unit is $15,500. The DC Quick charge units as they move to 100kW capable will then start making it truly possible to take an EV on a road trip and cover 500-600 miles in a day.
  6. I honestly understand people who will look for the cheapest and most dependable or the message that it is the most dependable thing around but Honda just has ZERO appeal to me as an auto maker. Their auto's are boring, too small and just not comfortable. They have built what I always thought would happen. Over priced throw away auto's.
  7. In research I have been doing on EV auto's and Charging times, most people are only aware of the 110 or Type 1 charging (8-14hrs) and 220 or Type 2 charging (2-6hrs). The Future lies in the New DC Quick chargers for Electric Auto's. They can be used on current EV's where you get 80% of the battery pack recharged in 30 min. EATON DC Quick Chargers Technical Specifications Description Incoming voltage and connections - 208 Vac three-phase, three-wire (Line 1, Line 2, Line 3 and earth ground) Input amperage - 156A (any power configuration) Input frequency - 50/60 Hz Integral overcurrent and GFI protection - 200A with 300 mA earth leakage for 40–50 kW configurations or 100A with 500 mA earth leakage for 20–30 kW configurations Upstream protection - Per NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, Article 625.14 Output amperage - maximum continuous - Up to 125A DC Output voltage - Up to 400V DC Interlocked power output - Yes Ground fault - 13 mA (UL 2231-1 / UL 2231-2 personnel protection) De-energization on breakaway - Yes Surge withstand - Up to 6 kV at 3000A Conduit entry - Front, rear, side, bottom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KDgIKOE56o Blink Dual Quick DC Chargers are also starting to get installed around. Seems the next generation of EV's auto's will get the quick charging capability.
  8. Love the Clean look and easy to follow format. I think it delivers allot of info in a quick scan view and you know what you want to do fast. I think many if not all will love it.
  9. EXCITEMENT, This is what I have been thinking GM needs to do. Hopefully they will also move this over to a CUV style. The cars and hatchback will of course be popular but not everyone likes to give up their higher riding line of vision that you get from a CUV or SUV. Still either way you look at it, this is a step in the right direction.
  10. A metallic All Black Fully Loaded GMC Terrain with the Twin Turbo V6 could be a New Typhoon.
  11. Nahhhhhhh, I am sure some idiots of the 2.2 Fanboy club will never let it die till they die!
  12. Sweet Truck, but I for one do not like the classic black. Why not make it mettalic with some depth to the paint job like you could reach into it reaching for stars. I do love the monochromatic look. So much better than the over kill the trucks are now with Chrome. Better yet, if they want Chrome, then do black Chrome.
  13. As I posted about Electrical Conversion in the Alternative Fuels and Propulsion thread, I could see the Corvette go with a radical Performance Electrical engine and a small generator. AMR 250-90D Liquid cooled AC Motor. 560 lb/ft of torque and 420hp, weight 180lbs, 360 Volts, Max RPM 10,000, Regenerative motor. Why not drop weight and give Tesla a run for it's sports car money! After all they have the Volt technology and clearly they can build AC motors that can put out the performance. Check out the 1000 lb/ft of torque and 600+ HP electric motor at this thread.
  14. My favorite sports car, Probably the '57 Corvette. A cousin of mine owned one when I was growing up and looked after the thing like it was not just family, but human. His garage was environmentally controlled. Didn't take it out at all in winter and it couldn't be hotter than 80f in the summer. His wife made him sell it and to be honest he has never been the same since. Favorite Sedan? Probably the old Pontiac 6000, It was my first car and while it was old at the time I loved it. Sadly it didn't last very long as I was in an accident and the price to repair was more than the price to get a newer used car. Accident wasn't my fault, some idiot who was drunk plowed into my right side running a red light. I was okay apart from a few bruises but the car was totaled. The only truck I've ever driven was a Ford F150 from the early 00's. It was my uncles and he gave it to me for work. He had an old Chevy (don't know the model sorry) from the 60's that you could hear for over a mile away that he kept. My Aunt tried to make him get rid of it but all he did was move it to a friends house. Every day after we left the house the first thing we would do is drive over to the friends house where he would leave me the F150 and he hop into the 'Mule'. Very cool cars, awesome to hear about your start with them. Thank you!
  15. Pretty much is not all auto's that are in the same category as Subaru but now with AWD a competitor pretty much? Subaru built the AWD market but now everyone is jumping in.
  16. Is the current 3.6 part of GM's new ecoboost engine line or a carry over? I will admit that I find it very hard to tell the new engineered engines from the old due to them having the same displacement size.
