February 2015: Mercedes-Benz USA
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2015 Sales Archive
Lets admit it, other than the C-Class, MB line up is dated and stale. Sales are tanking and MB is taking their own sweet time to replace these outdated, bland models. I am sure the crazy unions also have a hand in this slow slug change.- 7 replies

Agreed but at their glacial pace when will we see it is the biggest question followed by how fast! They are looking more and more like the GM of pre-Bankruptcy.

February 2015: General Motors Co.
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2015 Sales Archive
We are importing no oil now so why not enjoy our auto's and move over to even cheaper CNG. No reason to follow Europe with the stupid tax on engine size and a caste system that promises to keep people in a certain role of life. Yes Americans when feeling good will buy bigger stuff, but no problem we continue to grow and drive a solid portion of the worlds economy. -
What is amazing to me is that they claim a 50th straight month of sales growth but this is all on only the A3 and Q3. Everything else had major Double Digit sales loss. Take away their A3 / Q3 line and they are hurting. This product line needs some major refresh help.

Fairly solid with only a few negative sales lines for BMW and major ugliness for Mini. Mini S Cooper is what saved Mini's butt. More amazing is the growth of their sales on some very old dated product lines. WOW on the dated series 5, 6 & 7.

Solid but interesting to see them blame the fall on the west coast port strike. I say the sales people failed to sell what they had since they seem to have plenty of stock on hand.- 1 reply

9 negative growth segments versus 5 growth segments and only 3 that had double digit. I would not say this is a great report for MB but should be raising alarms over the very narrow sales segments.- 7 replies

I have to disagree with you. This will prove to be Porsche Boon Doggle and an executives failure costing someone their job. This is a big waste of resources for them but since they are flush with cash I guess they can afford to waste money.

VW News: Volkswagen Still Set On Loss-Leader Phaeton
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Found 40 Phaetons on sale on Autotrader this morning of which 38 were v8 and 2 were W12 for NA. One was at the dealership and one is a private sale. Both around the 100K mile range. Wonder how long that engine will last?- 43 replies

I have to honestly say this is the best I have seen from VW and for once a car I actually like in style on the outside and inside from them. I am even happy with the way they have done the big mouth bass front grill. Interior I hope makes it to production as I like what they have done. I will say the instrument cluster is a bit sparse but being digital, I hope I can customize it to my liking. I love these images of their Hybrid PowerTrain. Clearly taking a page from GM VOLT design with the battery in the middle.

I have to hand it to them, for once a body style I like and an interior that I would be happy with. Probably the best I have seen Infiniti put out ever.

Lovely, Really like the outside design style and the interior is great. They did an outstanding job on the inside even though it makes it individual seats and sections, I really like the layout and design for some reason.

Cadillac News: Cadillac CT6 Reveals Itself In New Commerical
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
GM has Beat MB to pretty much everything at one time or another. They squandered away the chance to go the distance but has since come back around to where if done right they can in the near future surpass MB I believe.- 164 replies
