  1. Do not take it out of context. Up till this test, Chrysler mini vans did great, but now you add an off set quarter crash and of course they all fail. Sorry I DO NOT give Toyota a Pass, it was just as bad as the rest. So now they all have to re-engineer to cover this new test. His mom is happy with her safe mini van plus I am sure she does not drive it like a Nascar is driven. Every auto that has had high ratings on crash test seem to fail when a new test is performed that was not part of the original test set. Keep it all in perspective.
  2. Interesting, I would say this is clearly a test mule. While it does look like a possible LaCrosse, clearly those are not the taillights, raised but not the finished ones. Either way, if a new update is to be in dealerships by the end of this year, then you should have two great options. Newest and if the wife loves it great, if not, you should be able to find a killer deal on left over 2015's then. Happy hunting.
  3. Brand new Ford Explorer State Trooper ride. Still had the temp license in the rear window.
  4. Cool thanks Drew, Glad I have Viper systems on all my auto's. You walk away and it shuts down. I thought it was that way with all Fob systems.
  5. Rhino Coated Mustang in Purple Rhino Coated Motorcycle I guess you can say it is far more resistant to door dings and rust but wow the added weight it must put on the whole auto and I would think wind resistance that would slow it down and reduce MPG.
  6. That would leave me with the Feeling that GM could be looking at the Hx Hummer Concept as a decent competitor for the GMC label while giving the equal part in the smaller Pickup family to Chevy.
  7. If it doesn't make any noise... lots of cars keep the electrical power or lights on after you shut the car off, so you might not realize it is still on if you are distracted after you park. Pardon my ignorance as I have only been in a VOLT once to discover for me as everyone who knows me am just way to tall to fit in the car. So does the VOLT not have a FOB that you have to have on you to be able to start the car? I would think once you left it would no longer be able to run once out of range. Seems to be a QA testing issue that was missed. I thought all auto's would not run once their fob was out of range. Interesting bug.
  8. Well to Quote: Posted Yesterday, 09:36 PM Yoda of Vintage cars Members 14,064 posts At least they didn't dip the bottom 8" of the vehicle in Plasti-Dip. I thought his bottom 8" of the vehicle in Plasti-Dip was an interesting comment. WOW was I surprised to see what all people have done with Line-X and Rhino coating. So Post what you have found people to be coating in either of these two products or other meterial. Line-X covered auto's I found. Line-X covered Dash
  9. Totally agree with this, Till Batteries get a much longer life, I think the VOLT Hybrid is the best solution out there for Auto's. Now to have the Generators run off CNG rather than Gas.
  10. WOW, Very cool that GM has done the right thing and is jumping on this. At least all it is, is a software update. How does a person get out of their auto and forget to turn it off?
  11. Yet if they believe in their product and build it at a high quality level, the warranty will cost them very little if anything to have that extra 40K miles. It is belief in yourself and the product you make that speaks volumes to customers.
  12. I agree, no Raptor is needed in the Full Size stable. I think they can do better with a ZR2 unit and add a Syclone to the GMC side.
  13. So Performance will rule for the new CR-Z. Interesting, I see this as a failure as people have clearly said MPG and green is more important. I would think they would want to push to have the CR-Z the ultimate commuter car with a Hybrid Powertrain that hits 100mpg.
  14. Interesting and sad. I always hoped GM would take the high road and like the Koreans lead with superior powertrain warranties in the US. This smells of the Bean counters taking back control again so as to increase the bonuses to the executives.
  15. Simple...people don't know how to drive, regardless of how many drive wheels their car has, so they pick what sounds the most controllable while texting. Ha. Or as in my family...the ones that prohibitively stay away from AWD or 4wd because it's not remotely necessary...even in PA or DE. Have fun I would agree with mostly flat land and just rolling hills AWD and 4WD is not really needed in the snow, but in washington with steep hills and mountains, AWD and 4WD keeps you away from all the morons in their German brand cars that have run flat tires and can go no where in snow and ice. Plus always safer going up the pass to ski.
  16. Man, been working from home this week and drove a whopping total of 2.3 miles for the week. Talk about suckola. I so need a road trip!
  17. Interesting auto, but I have to say it looks very dated and ultra conservative compared to what Subaru used to put out. If you are a suby fan people will buy it, but I think there are far better rides out there.
  18. This will be interesting. Wonder if they will have the cool Gullwing doors or will safety regs kill it. I suspect Tesla is having a hard time to have those doors meet crash testing / safety needs. I could see them going away to get the Electric CUV in production.
  19. GMC needs to build the Hx NOW as a special package for GMC. This would give the Wrangler a solid competition and many myself included would love it with the Baby 2.9L duramax diesel.
  20. Since you are willing to ignor the fair comparison of the cars listed under a 2.0L Turbo and quickly jump on the ATS 3.6 being weaker in Torque than the C400. I will follow your lead in saying you clearly are not able to learn new technology very fast as the CUE works fine once you learn it and I have had no problem with it. This in comparison to what I find to be pathetic systems in both BMW and MB with the stupid Dial, Mouse, Joystick what ever the Germans like to call it. That whole system is not user friendly to me in comparison to touching a screen. Yes CUE can be slow at times and it will either get better fast or GM will dump it as they incorporate the APPLE / Android interface systems. Since the stories go back for years especially in the initial days of when MB and BMW brought out their joysticky / dial / mouse control for the nav / HVAC system, many complained and still do today about not being user friendly. Interesting is the amount of people posting nothing but problems with Mercedes-Benze system. http://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w204/395784-media-interface-plus-installation-problems-so-far.html http://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w163/444740-problems-my-media-interface-plus.html http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w204-c-class/1645632-2012-c250-media-interface-problems.html http://www.slkworld.com/slk-r171-general-discussion/90513-media-interface-plus-pairing-problems.html PC Mag did a review of the MB latest non touch interface and stated that their system is a Step backwards in todays Touch World. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2472804,00.asp Auto Guide has this to say about the 2015 C-Class - some of the added functionality is a little confusing and the interface does take some getting used to...... http://www.autoguide.com/manufacturer/mercedes-benz/2015-mercedes-benz-c-class-review-4053.html CNET Review of the 2015 had this to say about the system - The Bad Connected infotainment features are crippled by an always-off Internet connection and the head-up display graphic is too large. http://www.cnet.com/products/2015-mercedes-benz-c-class/#! Edmunds had this to say about the 2015 infotainment system - Cons Cool but clumsy touchpad infotainment interface; pricier than most competitors http://www.edmunds.com/mercedes-benz/c-class/2015/review/ So while yes many news outlets from car mags, to PC mags to news stories all for the most part talk highly about the the MB C-Class car, one thing that does come up over and over again is about the Mercedes-Benz’ COMAND infotainment system. You read and you see references to the outdated Blackberry type system to when will they drop their current system and get with a nice clean touchpad interface like Apple. So while many do not like the CUE system as they say it is slow and clumsy, I say you need to learn it just as I know if I had to drive a BMW or MB auto with their system, I would have to learn it to make it work. Right now I bet most people would be happy to have all these systems dropped in favor of your choice of an Apple or Android interface for the Auto Infotainment system.
  21. Very cool stuff, so glad you found this. I know I am a minority with my love for Hummer.
