G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Are These The Most Reliable Top 10 Brands? This morning Yahoo posted the following story, "The 10 Most Reliable Car Brands, From A Car Dealer's View". The author goes on to talk about the various tag lines the brands have used and whether they actually lived up to the marketing hype of being the best. The author goes on to state that being an owner of a car dealership, auctioneer and co-owner of an auto auction for the last 16 years has given him the insight to state what he sees as the most reliable top 10 brands. The author then goes on to state that this is based on the last two and half years of looking at 700,000 auto trade-ins an the inspection process on the state of the auto at trade-in and tracking the sever mechanical issues of each brand. This individual also goes on to state the most studies are 90 days and this is then used to give early recommendations that are used for 3 to 5 years and yet never shows that some auto's become a Money Pit. There is plenty of additional information and I have to say it is a good read that deserves for anyone who likes more than surface information to take a look at. Make sure to follow the various links also to see some surprising and not surprising information that proves you can sell junk with the right marketing message. Top 10 Most Reliable Brands from Lowest to #1 10th place - Mercedes-Benz 9th place - Scion 8th place - Mitsubishi 7th place - Acura 6th place - Chevrolet 5th place - Infinite 4th place - Honda 3rd place - GMC 2nd place - Lexus 1st Place - Toyota So I invite you all to take a look at the details and think about what is your top 10 most Reliable Brands? Do you agree with this or not, Do you feel the methodology is valid or should there be something better to measure quality in a product? Sound Off!

G-Class Quality, Lettuce Count the Ways

This is what one would have expected from Kia 10 years ago. MB should be ashamed to have this out there and the Badge Snobs need to wake up to the junky quality of this ride. -

I like that idea of a mid size Escalade and small Escalade. The style would work for 3 models. -

I doubt it, with MPG being the issue it is, and the technology of Turbo, superchargers, and especially Hybrid power trains with amazing torque out of electric engines, I can see a HD having 400 to 450 HP and 600 lb-trq with an electric power train and generator.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Plans More V-Series Models
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Based on all your comments about what Cadillac should have, I have to disagree with you. At this point, Cadillac should focus on having the 4 door, 2 door, convertible regular and sport versions of their lines and keep the existing V series. Expand and have a full line of CUV's and SUV's in regular and sport plus Platinum editions. Then once the money spent and success of the product line is supporting Cadillac then build the super low volume V editions. -
Ask Me Anything: 2015 Volkswagen CC Sport 2.0T
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Applaud for the Minimalist dash as it is clean but have to ding them big time for a dated look from the 90's and that reflective aluminum on the dash. Does it glare on a sunny day in the windshield? This is a big pet peeve of mine where you end up seeing the dash reflect in the windshield as you drive and it ends up being a distracting experience. How is fit and finish?- 3 replies

Right on, Lincoln needs to dump the stupid German lettering system and go back to Heritage of their names.

A fully loaded Escalade ESV Platinum edition is an easy 100K. Yet they are worth every penny IMHO. Amazing rides and they last. One of the best Auto's GM makes.- 7 replies

Naw a smarter bet for Lincoln would be a VOLT like Power train that would rock the Germans World with V12 power equivalence.

What cha talking about Willis? You be not having a 2nd who wants the chair moved around just right for themselves. Trust me, a multi-directional moving chair is much needed as a standard item.

I wish GM would get faster at rolling out the VOLT powertrain in various formats of auto's. They should have it in a FWD and AWD CUV, Sedan (VOLT), compact (BOLT) and full size plus a truck.- 5 replies

G. David Felt replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
In trying to compare a Pure EV to a Petrol auto is this not an Apples to Oranges comparison? I know the ELR is a much closer fit since both ELR and i3 are electric motor driven but 2800 versus 4000 lbs. -
