So is that dirt marks on those black rims or are they actually marked up already? The picture makes it look like someone hit a curb already. Great pictures of details, but surprised it is not polished more and super clean. I would expect a floor room auto to sparkle.

For an expensive auto, the air vents looks cheap plastic cheesy just like the ones in almost all ford products.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Faces A Conundrum With the Escalade
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Go ahead and drink your coolaid. While they might use their old dinosaur V12 engines a few more years even the germancar4um and other places are debating just how much longer the v12, v10 engines stick around. Many expect over the next 2-3 years these engines to be killed off in favor of TT V8 and some even think that you will see electric with small motor generator be the new top line performance and luxury motor. Oil prices might be heading lower in the short term with Iran coming on but things are going to change and with so much of Europe and now the US joining the climate change agenda, big fuel thirsty engines like this will have a short life. On the cadillac front I expect to see the Escalade get a TTV6 as a V Sport Model and if they can push it through the supercharged V8 as a pure V edition. Long range, you have electric motors that put out equal or more HP and Torque than those engines and I can see with a full SUV like the Escalade and 450A batteries having a pure electric Escalade AWD ESV Platinum with a 300-400 mile range since you have no exhaust. You can use both sides of the under carriage to have two massive light weight battery trays. -
That for sure is a Truck.

This will always be a leapfrog event. I am surprised they did not have the Challenger there also.

WOW, be interesting to see if he can keep claims to the Billions already set aside or if it ends up being much bigger.

I think this is great as GM is wanting to make sure the Diesel versions are perfect and no mistakes in them having to have a recall. I would rather wait an extra couple months and get a perfect auto than have to take it back after a week or so for some repairs.

Nissan offering fleet incentive of $8,000 on the purchase of Leafs.
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Nissan
Agreed, the BOLT will destroy and leaf the Datsun, 500 and all other EVs in the dust. -
The Phaeton was VW version of the Cadillac Catera. The car was too small for most Americans, no rear room and a funky weird layout of the dash. Only thing interesting was the engineering feet with the motor. Other wise this auto was a failure like the Catera.

Nissan offering fleet incentive of $8,000 on the purchase of Leafs.
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Nissan
Very true, but they are a cheap ride if you can get someone to buy it for you on a fleet purchase with said discounts. But is the $11K dollar price worth a car that goes about 60-65 miles per charge? Nisan Leaf range is 80 - 100 miles per charge. My partner could drive to and from work twice before needing a recharge. I could go four times and I have chargers in my work garage. For a daily commuter with a predictable route, the leaf would make a great second car. Yes Nissan says the battery depending on auto use, electronics, etc gets 80 to 100 miles. Sadly in farther north states, 60-65 miles seems to be the average being talked in northern states and Canada. So it really depends on where you are at I think on how many miles you actually get. Rather be conservative than to promise 80 and the car is dead at 69. -
#nailedit So is that not an Audi? Ford coping Audi?

Based on the Cameo, it looks like it lost plenty of desire to now be only an also ran. I hope I am wrong but my gut tells me that FORD screwed this one up. They should have kept to the concept more.

Surprised it took this long to kill off a money loosing, sad attempt at a luxury auto at VW. Wonder how much the unions had sway in regards to this. I think VW has plenty more auto's to kill off as it cleans house and moves to be a better run, more profitable company.

^ good point Drew is just what did the new auto replace and how much better was the new over the old. Yesterday my wife and I got onto the freeway behind an old 240Z and it stunk with the unburned exhaust. My wife was shocked it was still on the road polluting, but then I explained how it was an old carburated auto compared to modern day fuel injection.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Faces A Conundrum With the Escalade
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Except you are comparing APPLES to ORANGES. The GLS is NOT a Full Size Body on Frame. Lets keep this to the only Body on Frame SUV that MB makes and is junk. The G Wagon. Till they build a new one from the ground up to compete with the Escalade you are only dealing with Badge Snobs that are idiots in overpaying for a junk built SUV. -
I agree, there needs to be a person capable of driving the auto and taking it over in the early stages of R&D development. Otherwise, once the technology is built with redundant backups and proven safe, then no need to have a person in the auto. Taxis could become totally robotic and no human driver. That would be nice.

We'll this is an interesting comparison. I see what everyone is talking about. Either they have really hidden the body lines with the funky camo or they really screwed the pooch and have taken a cheap approach to what should have been a major reboot of Lincoln.
