  1. Interesting, wonder how much pressure will be on Lyft to have their drivers use GM auto's.
  2. Reminds me of the Infiniti crossovers with the slopped back and useless inside cargo room. Just like the SRX which also has pathetic interior cargo room. Those slanted glass might look cool to some but kill the interior room for cargo carrying capacity. Station wagons did fine on MPG let them have their box size so you can still carry actual stuff in them.
  3. weird, does not work for me either.
  4. Still butt ugly as a car and no passion. Nothing to get excited about. Over rated and under delivered.
  5. Very interesting, while I am excited and hope they bring back a few white fill autos like the following: Chevy Trailblazer and Trailblazer SS GMC Typhoon GMC Syclone - Yes it is a truck. Over all I also hope they put the VOLT powertrain into a CUV.
  6. Is there a better link? The link takes me to a generic gmnext.com web site.
  7. Alfa, an over rated product that should have been left in the history books rather than the raping of Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep money to try and resurrect the pathetic auto line.
  8. That is very cool and a smart cookie. He did it as his thesis project, WOW.
  9. Glad to hear he is ok and you guys just had to deal with the stress of the scary situation. Totally agree that they need to communicate this better to users on when to use specific features during specific times of year. Weird that GM, Ford and Chrysler have had regenerative brakes for years and never had to have them be turned off for the winter. Something just does not sound right to me about that.
  10. Coming from the computer Industry, being a well educated Engineer does not make the company infallible to piss poor management. Anyone remember Digital Computer Corporation? Engineered some of the best storage, computers and other technology that much of the industry has been based on especially the AMD CPU's with their memory management and superior throughput for that time. This was all done by people who had PHD in Engineering and thought if they built superior products they would last forever as a company. Bought by Compaq who was then bought by HP. Engineers alone do not make a great company. In the long run they will die without much needed assistance from sales, marketing, etc. This does not mean they cannnot hire and get the right people in place but even then one must never take their eye off the end prize. MB has done great but is not the best company out there, no one is and eventually they will drop the ball and fall from grace as you perceive as the best luxury auto maker. History has proven that over and over again.
  11. So then you would agree that the Buick Encore AWD was done right then. That should be a model for both sedans and CUVs for AWD.
  12. I agree with Drews post and figure the next 5 years will show what Johan has done with Cadillac and the success or failures that go with it. Going to be an interesting ride.
  13. Great write up, I am also interested in why they tranny would not go into 9th gear for the jeep. Would be good to find out what is up with that.
  14. Maybe I have slept through missing the bitching about executives being cribbed away. But Most people here do not care about that as much as the style of the auto's and naming convention. I would say I have seen minimal complaining about taking an executive away from another company and far more complaining about coping a style from others. Either way, If I was Johan, I would have gone with names for cadillac and use the alpha numeric for the global models if market research truly shows that is what Europe and Asia wants.
  15. I don't really think the cruze needs it but the impala and Malibu really would benefit from it. If the platforms are leveraged properly it should be easy as punch Also consider as you are striving for MPG what is more important to buyers AWD or MPG? When 2025 comes around what is more important AWD or MPG. If given a choice would more people pick AWD or 2 more MPG in a car that cost less? If you look at the volume of AWD models across all the MFG I think you will find your answer. Yet build an AWD with either the VOLT powertrain or pure EV with a 200-300 mile battery pack and you have a winner winner chicken dinner! The 450A Lithium Ion batteries are here and work, the auto companies who move forward faster will win the change over game.
  16. Nope the so called Hover Boards are made in China and not even a Hover board. They are a two wheel gyro balanced skateboard that is harder than it looks to ride and clearly burns to the ground even when in the packaging easily. Real Hover Board, then get this Made In America! http://www.examiner.com/article/arcaboard-hoverboard-a-real-deal-20k-device-runs-6-minutes-per-6-hour-charge or this company also is working on a hoverboard to be built and out in America in 2016. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/142464853/hendo-hoverboards-worlds-first-real-hoverboard http://hendohover.com/
  17. Tried multiple times, but just do not see what everyone thinks is so great about Breaking Bad. Boring show for me. I will take NCIS or Criminal Minds.
  18. Always got to be the Debbie Downer! Lets start off 2016 with the positive exciting attitude that new things will drive auto's that will excite us and in some ways this means electrification of the power train. Wishing you an awesome New Years Eve and New Year ocnblu!
  19. So for me, I would be happy with the following if I only could have 2 auto's. Road Trips and personal time driving, Escalade ESV Platinum V Edition Commuter Auto Chevy BOLT
  20. Welcome back Mule, In regards to the ELR, I think it depends on where you are in the country. Washington state with an abundance of Hydro power also is a extreme green state. Here you find plenty of plug in everything including the ELR all over the roads.
