Mercedes-Benz is not just a luxury car maker, they gave up that title when they created their cheaper lines to compete against Chevy and started to sell vans and other work and commercial related autos on the same lot as their lofty S Series as well as the rest. You cannot just be a luxury maker when you have the Sprinter vans sitting only feet away.

Interesting observation on the tires: BMW i3 - 19 x 5 155/70 all season low resistance tires. MB B Class EV - 17 x 7.5 225/45R17 All season Extended Mobility tires. Chevy Bolt - It appears based on looking at pictures that the size is very much like MB. Chevy and MB seem to have gone with a realistic tire in comparison to BMW.

SMK you are totally out of touch with the world. FWD/RWD no body cares for the bulk of the world. If they can afford a car they are either a badge snob or just look for an appliance they like to get from point A to B and back. If they love out door activities, then AWD or 4x4 depending on how they grew up. In the next 10 years as most baby boomers die off, you will have a new group of folks and their penchant for old ways of driving will be very different. If this auto is built of high quality and hits the right feel and comfort inside, they will steal sales from everyone including your German brands.

Yes your talking about the B-Class Electric Drive. 177HP 251lbs of torque. 0-60 in 7.9 secs. 132 kW electric motor. 87 miles range at 50F degrees. Get a Jet chip, They work well on all grades of gas even when the chip is tuned for performance. Been very impressed with the Jet chips. You are the only person I've seen back the jet chip. Everyone says they're total bunk, and that's what I'd assume reading their ridiculous ads. Regardless, an actual tune made by a human is vastly superior to a one-size-fits-all chip. Trifecta offers a tune at any level of power you want, including low octane safe. Having built many V8s myself, I usually supply all the engine specs and they then plug it into their computer and write a chip. Once I get it it has always been amazing how well the engines run with the Jet Chips. So my experiance is with custom chips that have worked very well, I can only assume if the engineers are doing their job at fine tuning the engine you should be able to get a chip that does improve the over all performance of the engine with a slight bump in HP and Torque.

Diesel in Trucks for hauling or full size SUVs have a place in America, but with Hybrids and electric, Diesel days in auto's are limited. This guy needs to focus on where the public is looking now and move forward, they lost their diesel bet on lying to the public and that will be hard to overcome.

No. They were not well over 400HP. And the 4.3L was not based off the LT1. The 4.3L V-6 came out in 1985. The same year as the L98 There was no LT1 in 1985 to base the 4.3L Vortec off of. The Syclone was rated at 280HP 350 pounds of torque. The Typhoon was 280hp 360 pounds of torque. Yet with aftermarket parts they could go over 800hp.

-1, I totally disagree with you. This is priced at the sweet spot and beats Tesla model 3 vaporwear. It is superior in every way over the BMW i3. This will force all the others to lower their prices even. The car is what most people want, Good for you, everyone around you and the planet.

For instance, the best selling car in the world......Focus. And may the fleas of a thousand Greek goats infest your jockey shorts. The key word here is world not US market. The real challenge here is that this car has to sell in the US market a market not really big on Hatchbacks. In todays market most people if given a choice of a car like this or say an Encore of Trax optioned similar at the same price the American will take the CUV. The CUV rules in this market as the higher roofs and higher sitting vehicle appeal to people here. If they can't have it bigger they want it taller. The Focus sales are global and that is why it does well. Opel also does well with the hatch but it is in Europe. That is why I think a OPC based Buick would be a better move here than a 4 door hatch Chevy. The lower volume can be leveraged over several markets. Just look at the price of the top performance Ford Hatch and the volume of the performance version here. The numbers are low enough that with out the help of global sales they may not have had a business case for it. The Buick Opel would enjoy the similar volumes global. The new Civic will also enjoy the same volumes as it is also global. But here in the states they will be not a car you will see daily. Then factor in the Camaro and Mustang. The cheaper cars with smaller engines are good buys and as fast as the V8 cars of just a couple years ago. Makes even a hatch SS or even the Focus a hard choice when you can get the power in RWD and a sporty coupe. You don't even have to remove the interior to make it faster. This is why GMC needs to squeeze the Twin Turbo into the Terrain and have a New Typhoon AWD!

Love my Trailblazer SS AWD with 400 ponies. It moves and is lovely to drive.

So Chevy has updated their BOLT web site and it now seems that in average temp climates we should expect well over 200 MPC or Mile Per Charge. With a 9hr charge time to full battery and the stated 25 miles per hr charged, that equals 225 miles on a battery pack. 80% charged if you use a rapid DC Fast charger in less than an hr. Be interesting to see what the EPA ends up rating this at.

It's still a prestigious thing to hold the fastest production top speed mark. Can other auto makers do it? Yup. Can they so it with the class the Veryon has? Doubtful. I mean the next closest cars are all race cars with everything stripped from them. That is what really impresses me. Is that they kept a full interior with all leather and aluminum not rock hard carbon buckets, a tach, and a momo steering wheel. I agree that most are chasing a magical lap time, as if anybody can match that who buys most of the cars anyway, but the best at that are also stripped out street cars that sacrifice interiors for lap times. No other car close to this performance level can touch this interior. Yes there is the P1, 918, and LaFerrari but those are brand new and north of $1,000,000 as well and if you look at pics of those 3 none of them look like they can hold a candle to the Veyron's interior as well. Getting a 4600lb car to 260mph is "excellence in engineering" at its finest. Personal opinion is it is still ugly from any angle to me. So I would save the money and buy something I find much better looking even if it has less performance. See, I can understand that. Looks are one thing but to say it is irrelevant with that the car has brought to the car-game just doesn't seem accurate to me. Yes, the comment was directed towards top speed but what brings a vehicle top speed has a lot to do with load bearing materials, flexing, and aero study out the ass. All stuff that goes into other track cars. The aero work that goes into a car attempting 290 mph will have more an effect on our daily drivers(in the long run) than a chassis that's so rigid that you can pull 1.5g sustained from the factory and tires that are designed to last less than 5000 miles. The Veyron is very much still relevant. That's why there have been companies who've targeted it. I 100% agree on the look of the car. They're "okay" at best to me. It's never been a huge looker in my books but the numbers surrounding this car are outstanding and still haven't been touched by other OEMs 11 years later!! I agree 100%, the engineering is very much relevant, even though 99.99999% of the people can never drive their auto or even this one at 290mph.

Stopped and got the oil changed at my Cadillac dealership today. An old guy traded in one of his auto's for a new ride. 1989 Pontiac Firebird Indy 500 official pace car with only 13,914 miles. 2.8L MFI V6. So would you buy it? What are your thoughts?

Yes GMC use their Turbo V6 in both the Syclone and the Typhone. Syclone was the awd pickup truck and Typhone was the compact awd SUV.

I know Xmas Trees are grown for the specific market, but I wish all would move to artificial trees with the pine cent heater so you use a little oil and enjoy it then store it for next year. Amazing how many trees are at the curb already. Sad all the green house gas those trees store when alive.
