  1. VW, Expect losses and some dealers to have to close down. Your arrogance of America is amazing. More will shun your products no matter how good they are just to avoid a deceitful, deceptive, condescending arrogant company like you.
  2. I hear what you are saying and would agree with most of it. I believe there is a proper place for the Denali package as is today as most people just want a top of the line auto with trimmings. Then I believe there should be a Denali Syclone and Denali Typhoon packages. These would have everything plus the performance parts. Denali Syclone would be on all trucks. Denali Typhoon would be on all SUV/CUVs. New Package would be: Denali Hurricane package This would be the hardened capabilities of the Hummer on any Truck or SUV/CUV. This would allow GMC to have the H4 to compete with the wrangler but also GMC would then have a Raptor competitor.
  3. "Full time 4WD, also called permanent 4WD, (not to be confused with:part time 4WD ) is a system that powers all four wheels at all times and it can be used full time on all surfaces including pavement. The additional feature of a differential incorporated into the transfer case makes it possible to use 4WD all the time. 2WD is not available (only part time 4WD offers that option)" http://www.rubicon-trail.com/4WD101/difference_4WD_awd.html The system the "auto" system that Chevy does, my Avalanche had it, leaves the front wheels on partially. In Auto, I could drive it normally. In 4Hi, the front wheels would bind up if I tried to take too tight of a turn. It was more of a "locked front end" when in 4Hi. Ya Rock! That was a great link to explain the differences. Cadillac really needs to clarify the Full Time 4WD. AWD with a 4LO option is what it really is and that is great.
  4. The Canyon is not AWD, it is 2WD or 4WD like most trucks. There is no difference in the Denali. The Denali trucks and full-size SUVs, and Escalade used to come with active full-time AWD, but they are now 2wd/4wd. So the Escalade and Denali full-size SUVs are not AWD anymore! FAILURE!!! Sorry call me a snob, call me what you will but AWD is what is expected on Luxury SUV's and not a 4WD system with a Low Range. I now have to go test drive the new Escalade as I love my 2006 Escalade ESV Platinum and I love the new body and was excited to finally upgrade as I did not like the 3rd generation Escalade at all. But Cadillac does not indicate if it is an all the time 4WD system so in essence like AWD or if you only drive in 2WD till you are on rain or snow or off road. So does anyone know if the 4WD mode is like AWD 4HI working all the time or is this a RWD Bias that you have to put into 4WD? AWD is what set Cadillac apart from Chevy and most GMC except the Denali. AWD is and should be standard on the Cadillac Escalade. This makes me think some old Fart from the old days is screwing up Cadillac again or did the new Cadillac leader screw this up? If the new SRX has AWD, why not Escalade?
  5. So you are thinking this could be a district manager trying to make himself look good for promotion or just to keep his job.
  6. Yet this is only 4x4, not AWD like the Skyhawk. So that is one difference or am I missing something else that is a major difference? Are you having a stroke? Sniffing too much CNG? LOL this is the second funny typo you've made. Skyhawk is a Buick. Trailhawk is a Jeep. The Trailhawk is a 4x4 system is the same as the Limited's and Overland's with Active-Drive II, it just has a locking rear differential. Jeep outlines the differences of all of their 4x4 systems on a single page. Thanks drew for the info, I should have looked at the Jeep page, glad to see all the differences, but wow, the variety can confuse people. For some reason I thought the Trailhawk was an AWD system compared to the lower models having a more traditional 4x4 system. Love to learn even when I confuse my models. CNG Rocking on!

  8. I will say it looks tons better than a Prius, but not as nice as the Volt. I can see this as a winner for them. Be interesting to hear the rest of the details. Especially the EV model and how it will stack up to the Bolt.
  9. This was a person that either could not afford it or was never going to buy the old Acadia anyway. No matter if it stayed the same size or shrunk. Plenty of people wanted the Acadia but never really bought it and when it came time they went with the compact version in this case a Traverse LT. Big difference in price between the Traverse and an Acadia. Time will tell if GM messed up, but my gut tells me no. The people crying over this are the same type of people crying about the lack of 2 door coupes and convertibles in the cheap entry level market but would really never buy them anyway. There is no difference in size between a Traverse and Acadia they are identical.... I think you mean Terrain? The Enclave and Traverse are getting the long wheelbase version of this. Thanks for catching my error, yes, I was thinking Terrain.

  11. I see the point you are making, did not realize that the black plastic molding was only available in black. So this does make it look nice in being color matched. Though I will say that I am impressed with the Skyhawk with the black molding and black hood patch. It looks good otherwise you are right would need to be black. Reminds me of the Honda Element and how long they sold it with black molded sections only before they finally listened to customers and started to offer it all in single monochromatic color. Kinda makes one think they went cheap on the initial release of color. It is really that much of a cost to have all monochromatic?
  12. Sergio isn't going anywhere til retirement. What I really wanna kno is what exactly were FCA's numbers then. That 7% Increase might not be exactly what we heard it was at end of the year 2015 It would be interesting to see the real numbers if the books were cooked. I know jeep sales are doing well but what numbers did they falsify? Sergio had better hope that their books are fully in order. You know the family will let him hang in the wind on this no matter what if it proves to be true. Gut tells me they fried Fiat Numbers, Chrysler / Dodge numbers. I truly believe Jeep and Ram are just fine. Look at your local FIAT dealers and tell me how they are selling as many as they are when you see not just 30-50 autos on the lot but hundreds of them. The FIAT dealers in the greater Puget Sound area all have around 200-300 fiats in stock. You cannot tell me they are moving that many each month when I hardly see them on the roads. They are one of the most terribly made products right with Mini. There are way too many FIATS that are under 10K miles 2 years old or under 5K 1 year old for sale plus hundreds of new ones. The product should die and go away. Chrysler / Dodge can do a better subcompact / compact than Fiat.
  13. Will be watching this closely. If it gets ugly, I bet we see some changes at the executive level all the way back to Italy.
  14. Very true, if the modules can withstand the extreme heat / torture of the engine, then the tun-ability would allow amazing things to happen.
  15. That is very cool, but I wonder what the life would be on these electronic valves? Could you go hundreds of thousands of miles like you can on a traditional chain driven pushrod engine?
  16. I wonder if it was installed from the inside, pull the head liners out and the trim around the back dash. Would be cool to really know if you go from outside or inside. Suck if you have to peel that top. Also as Drew pointed out, side defrosters, very cool but suck if oneof the lines broke.
  17. Electric defrost on the sides too! Love the cyclop lights that are just at the base of this cool window. I always loved the 4 eye brake light look.
  18. Great write up, I too wonder about the 6 sp and why not an 8sp tranny.
  19. Totally agree with you, love my sons black Patriot Trail rated CUV, have come to hate the CVT Tranny. Worst part of the whole auto.
  20. The days of glass like this are over due to roll over and roof crushing test to pass. Over all love the auto, beautiful, I agree, wonder how they replace the glass when it needs to be done.
  21. Agree, the used VOLTs are AWESOME DEALS.
  22. It does have auto close. You don't need to slam the door, you just pull it into position and the car pulls the door in for you. Great, so more electronics to fail and jack up the price of repairs. Seems that auto's truly will become disposable consumption, drive 100K and recycle. These door handles will be a nightmare. Catch onto everything and break off causing more damage to the over all door is how I see it and I bet FORD makes a statement to NOT go through car washes as the door handles can get caught on the brushes and get damaged. Not a fan of the door handles. FAILURE in my opinion.
  23. Thanks Drew for the update, glad to hear your OK. Take a rest and recharge. Thank you for all you have done during the auto show. Take some well deserved RnR.
