  1. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Should Apple buy Tesla? I came across this story posted in LinkedIn "What if Elon Musk ran Apple?" and this got me to thinking about the pros and cons of if this happened what would Apple become and what would Tesla become? The story states Apple has $200 Billion in cash on hand and could easily pay the current $33 billion market price for Tesla. Story has a mistake as they talk about Tesla $20 billion on the books for the 400,000 Tesla 3 on pre order. This is actually only $13 Billion worth at the $35,000 stated price. Yet they do point out that Elon has built a couple electric auto's, new battery storage for the home, flew a space ship to the international space station and back and now can land it upright on a floating platform and he is now working on a hyperloop mass transit system for california. The story does state that Apple seems to have lost it's mojo for innovation and even with the current competent Business focused CEO, Apple is slipping off their peak of success. So SHOULD APPLE BUY TESLA? Would this be a better way for Apple to go with their own electric self driving auto than building from scratch? List out your Pro's and Con's for what you think?
  2. Honest question, why do they call this a shooting brake? Second, who the hell let Thor hit the car with a lite smack of his hammer as the auto looks squished?
  3. Lol. Show me an N/A GM V8 that makes 800hp with a tune and supporting bolt-ons. If this were a Cadillac with this engine, you and others would be creaming themselves. Nope, do not need to cream myself or be excited as I have never cared for Turbos, Supercharged yes but not turbo's. Oh wait, that is right GM already has a naturally aspirated V8 with a bolt on Supercharger and cooler that can easily be tuned to 800HP! -1 on your comment.
  4. Do you lift, dfelt???? Am I talking to a fellow gym rat and didn't know this whole time??? Need you both to kick my butt into the habit once I'm done all of this travel at the end of the month. I was taught to never ski while tired or you'll end up hurting yourself, and I imagine the same is true for lifting. I can't get over the exhaustion to go make myself more exhausted at the moment. LOL, Yes, I was 6 ft tall at age 12, totally a mess in coordination and my dad took me to the Washington state body building competition which is now the Washington State Natural Body building competition. Saw Arnold and fell in love with the sport. I did everything I could to build myself and eventually bought his Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding and never looked back. Highly Recommend this book: Even if you do not want to be a full blown body building but just to tone and shape up, this shows step by step the safest ways I know to lift free weights and build your body into a strong solid frame. At 48 years Old, I ski harder than most teens and 20's according to my son. Still hit the parks, jumps, etc. I truly believe being a Gym Rat is an important part of long life with little down time. Drew, best way to ease back into it when the Gym has not been a consistent part of your life is to have some dumb bells at home, not 20, 30 40 lbs, but simple 3,5 & 8 pound dumb bells, so you can do bicep curls and tricep presses while watching TV. Forearm curls to help strengthen and keep from having issues with your fingers and forearms for those of us at the computer all day. You can also then use these same dumb bells to do lungs while watching TV or a movie. Standing squats if you want to get a bit heavier dumbbells can be done also. This will get you into a routine and then you can slide back into the gym. So yes, a fellow Gym Rat and now hopefully people can understand why I find anything other than a full size SUV at 6'6" tall and 280 lbs to be a small comfy auto for me. Happy LIfting!
  5. Not all Start/Stop technologies are the same. GM's is just a down-tuned version of their old eAssist without the assist. Much smoother than the Benz version. That is good to know as after spending a week in Vegas and out on the strip at night, I am not impressed with the germans start/stop system that makes the auto sound cheap. Totally agree about watching yourself while pumping iron, you totally get buzzed to push and pump more. So addictive to the natural body adrenaline high.
  6. WOW, I am actually just amazed at how UNDERWHELMING these TTV8 engines are in HP and Torque. GM does this with natural V8's so what is so hard about others doing it also. You have the added weight of the turbo system, probably the stupid overhead cam crap and GM has forever been showing you can already do this with a proper Pushrod setup. FAILED! that is what this is. Bloated under performing V8 engine with excessive weight and complexity.
  7. Simple Choice, Corvette, The MB is not even in competition.
  8. WINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy so many reds to drink, so little time!
  9. ^ Radical Bad Ass Pissed Looking Ride!
  10. Doubt it was profitable or ever will be. They stole billions from the american name plates and 60 cares cannot turn a profit on the 4 billion they spent so far on the over rated garbage.
  11. ^^^ What you say is so true, why do I drive all full size SUV's? Because no cars are comfy for tall big guys like me and the include Cadillac CTS. Problem with CTS is that once I get it so I can drive the car comfy on a road trip or around town, no one can sit behind me. No room. So escalade wins out. Build true full size sedans and you can see the cars start selling but also fix the biggest problem with all size cars, interior back room especially when you have us 6'6" tall 280lb guys up front. I also believe all sales are down as Tesla 3 and BOLT are making people rethink the type of auto they have for driving and what they want for the future. Plus sales were so strong last year and no sustainable, so sales have to drop. This will affect especially MB and BMW where build everything at every level in every little nich is also not sustainable. Soon Cadillac will be better than MB or BMW when sales continue to drop off and they have to look at what models to kill off to stop the bleeding.
  12. At EMC World, so working tradeshow, very little time to post.
  13. I originally hated the Terrain but now I own one and come to love it. While I know it is the same thing as the Nox it just does not have that feminine look. Hey I don't highlight my hair and I still got a pair, what can I say? I have always preferred the GMC styling even if it was just the grills. It always appeared less cluttered and more refined. Though the new Chevy truck nose is damn good looking in mono chrome. LOL, I know you still have a Pair. But I have to disagree with you on the chevy truck, I still think the full size GMC is way better looking. I totally agree on the fem look of the Chevy CUV product line. Looks are subjective and you have yours and I have mine. My point is the GMC was a slam dunk before now I would at least have to think about it. Even my GMC buddies have said the same thing. Two of them have bought GMC full sized trucks in the last 2 years and both said they may have gone over to Chevy if they had this model out. As for the fem look 50% of buyers today are women so it makes sense. But with that said women like trucks too. That is why my wife wanted the Terrain. She grew up driving her dads truck often. I love it when she wants to opt for the largest wheel packages too as she said they look better. This takes the pressure off of me when I want that option. LOL! We got the 19" on the Terrain because that is what she wanted and and it is was I was going to push for if she had not wanted them. Powerful engines are also something we are both in agreement with. She has never turned down a V6 option or Supercharged option. If there was a V8 she would want it too. Now keep in mind she is not into cars like I am but we have the same wants when we buy. She also hates minivans and can shoot a gun with a high degree of accuracy. I was lucky to find her. That Rocks hyper I too have a wife like that so very lucky to have found her.
  14. I Dare Cadillac to finally deliver a V Series Escalade ESV!

  16. I like a truck look, but then I am Blah on the Chevy Version and love the GMC current look. Wonder if these engines will be part of the new GM Powertrain lineup?
  17. Jerk move or not, this will sell, but honestly does nothing for me. Plus Sergio is already raping FCA and overpaid to boot. So I hope this fails. The board needs to eject that man.
  18. ^^^ Yea, VW best auto's seem to be powered by a Corvette engine. Crazy how many people are bidding on a corvette powered 1971 bug.
  19. ^^^ ??? ^^^ ??? ^^^ ??? McFly, what are we missing in your comment, I do not get it?
