  1. I can see the day where cars are never sold again, you pay for the right to drive it and after so long, you can then drop to month by month or drive it into the dealer, they put the car into a special recycling slot and out the other end comes your new auto you just ordered. No wait, custom order, custom build auto's on demand. Reminds me of the scene in Minority Report.
  2. Audi of washington has a tone of lease specials on the whole product line, example is their AWD A6 on lease special of $519 per month for 36 months for 7500 miles a year. To me that is a crazy that you would spend that kind of money with so few miles allowed and be stuck with it for 3 years. I understand the leasing from a business standpoint and being able to drive new every 2-3 years. But I hate payments and would rather buy what I like and drive it way longer. Then again, I am the exception as I still drive my 1994 GMC SLE Suburban as well as all my other fine auto's I own.
  3. I have to say your post really got me to laughing as last night I was having dinner with some folks and both couples asked me for input on non-american awd auto's, I mentioned subaru and both wifes said they are not driving a Lesbo sedan. Talk about shocking. I asked them why and their reasoning just went south of the ignorance line. Amazing the stupidity of people. After all they both said all they see at work is their lesbian coworkers driving the subaru auto's and they do not want others to think they are lesbian. I told them they were being ignorant and childish about that assumption they have made. I also told them that I have been told the same thing kind as I have also heard that I should not drive it cause I am not asian. I agree, drive what you want and like, not what other narrow minded or closed minded individuals say.
  4. WOW, You really are a horse with blinders and no the S-Class has not been the leader for 40 years. You know this as way to many knowledgable people here have posted picture proof of how terrible the S-Class was even into the late 90's. The last 15-20 years yes they have led, but not 40!
  5. Interesting is the Autocar story that is saying VW is realigning their whole company to focus on alternative energy auto's and will allow them to focus on Hybrids and EVs having the most of any company by 2020. Autocar Story

  7. VW to show off 225 mile range EV auto at Paris Auto show, clearly EV's will be center stage and a serious focus for the show. Interesting is that VW is saying a 15 min charge time for their new EV. Based on their 800 volt charging system that is going into the Porsche Mission E. To quote: " Speaking to German newspaper WirtschaftWoche (Industry and Economy Week) recently, Volkswagen chairman Herbert Diess said the car would have the outside dimensions of the Golf but offer the interior space of the larger Passat. It will be the first car built on the company’s latest MEB chassis, specifically designed for all electric cars like the BUDD-e concept that appeared at the Consumer Electronics Show last January. Diess says it should be market ready in late 2018 or early 2019. " Full story here: VW electric story
  8. Lets take the prices CCAP has listed, Tesla 3 - $35,000 Battery Option - $8,500 AWD Option - $5,000 Premium Package $3,000 Air Suspension $2,500 Cold Weather Package $1,000 Total Tesla Price - $55,000 for an AWD Electric with 300 mile range and the rest of the goodies. It will sell if this is what they offer, but it will also be put up against the Bolt and VW 225 mile range EV they are showing at Paris auto show. Interesting is that VW is saying a 15 min charge time for their new EV. Based on their 800 volt charging system that is going into the Porsche Mission E. 9. I am glad you have not had any issues and are happy with the performance. As long as the performance meets your needs that is great and I say go for it. For me doing virtualization and graphic rendering in videos, AMD does not cut it and at this point Intel has really surpassed AMD. If your happy with it then as you say like Frogger pointed out, it might just be a good deal if you can truly upgrade and sell your used CPU for the prices stated. What some people think they can get on the used market and what really happens is two different things. You asked for input and a few of us feel Intel is worth the added money to invest in and move over too. Your choice, I wish you the best on what you decide.
  10. Start at the beginning of what you think is wrong as I see this all around me every day, homes that can barely pay their mortgage with high end luxury auto's going paycheck to paycheck. When all the lease auto's come back in the prices are depressed. Good deals for those of us willing to buy a lease return with full warranty. We have alrady seen the auto industry based on leases and big discounts hit record sales only to have it follow by a depressed market. This will repeat itself again and again.
  11. @Intrepidation How do you play it as I see it, but cannot play it to listen to it.
  12. Very cool, I used to enjoy building from scratch my own desktops and now later in life due to family, senior parents, etc. I review for the best workstation class unit around and max it out with memory, SSD boot drives that are mirrored for failover capability and a decent raid set for my data which really boils down to my controller card making mirror copies of the drives so I can always access my data fast.
  13. @smk4565 I am going to only state the obvious, Cadillac thought they could never be beat and coined the term standard of the world. The S-Class is Beatable, nothing is perfect and nothing stays the best for ever. It might not be Cadillac, but I can tell you that some car company someplace is going to come along and beat the snot out of your unbeatable S-Class and your gonna be left looking like this! So just be ready cause some day will come.
  14. Happy that GMC and Chevy are rolling out updates far more often and working to stay competitive, but the engine is just Meh to me. I still am not impressed with over reved V6 engines with little torque in comparison to HP. This is a failure that you have to pay more for the bigger engine that performs less than many Turbo 4 bangers or Electric motors.
  15. Cool that they have given it a competing TTV6 as they focus on Cadillac and others. Car is nice but clearly you can still see the Ford roots and that to me shows as a we could not think of anything original from our past to inspire us and so we copied the Jaguar look and tweaked it to try and give it a little distance from Ford. I hope folks like it but to me just Meh!
  16. @loki Please explain what we do not get, you asked for everyone's input, we gave you ours. How do we not get it? You have a product, that product does not work well on Linux, Windows, what ever you want to run on it and it causes more time spent troubleshooting than just working. How is going with a platform that just works with minimal driver issues / quality issues ends in us not getting it. Please enlighten us!
  17. People wanting to be in the jones jones race of upping their friends by one will lease to get into a higher level auto than to accept that they can only really afford X. This will cause a bigger increase in debt and in lower residuals plus a glut once these low miled used auto's hit the market. In 2-3 years I expect another auto correction of poor sales and a flood of auto's on the market.
  18. @ocnblu Maybe it is so those in the back can play pranks on those riding in the front.
  19. Seattle if you park without paying it is $89 dollar fine. Park without paying and leave it overnight, $259 fine and you have to call the PoPo to come unlock your ride. Seattle has decided everyone needs to ride mass transit or a bike and as such has reduced greatly the number of parking spots on the streets forcing people to use the expensive $45 a day parking lots or just not come into the city. Lucky for me, the company I work for pays for my monthly bus pass and I can get in and out on express buses to the north end. Minimizing my time in a idiot run city.
  20. Sadly the EV Fleet web site is sparse on additional info. I spent hours going over all their news releases and links to info to get what I posted here. Will once I get my honey do list done today come back and see if I can find more info. EV Fleet truck is not the best looking, but seems to hit a number of right numbers for use by many that really do not need a full size or HD truck.
  21. Cadillac needs ot force the dealers to update or close as I have yet to see any really nice dealers compared to the competition. I agree with you that the Buicks are so nice and quiet.
  22. Wonder if they will up the figures on the diesel as they fine tune the programing. A hybrid system aka using the Volt system in a truck would be cool also.
  23. The truck with the solar panels in the bed area was actually to show off that they had a solar option to enhance range. If you get the truck with a hauling box on back and add the solar panels on top you gain 40 miles more range depending on use case. At least the solar options could go to running heater or cooling of the cab without affecting the battery range.
  24. Have to say the more I have read on this the more I love this truck. The T-Rex can be ordered with a turbo diesel or petro, but why when you can get the 100kWh battery pack for up to 200+ mile range and outlets allowing you to connect and use tools of 10-30 amp capacity. I love the Crewcab truck. Bremach-T-Rex.pdf
