Ultimate Dream Garage: Special Edition er....Edition
G. David Felt replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
Limited Editions are the same as special editions. They are in limited numbers. Just cause American auto companies do not over use the Special name like the germans, does not mean these are special. All 6 of those are very special editions. -

Porsche News: Plans for 911 Hybrid Is Put On Hold
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Porsche
Totally makes sense to put this on hold. Finish the more advanced Mission E, use the ubber Wealthy .01% to pay for the R&D, then push out this into the rest of the company product portfolio. That is how you do it right! My gut also tells me this is Porsche responding to the potential only EV's by 2030. Might as well focus on using the ultra wealthy to pay for your research on flipping the whole product line to a new powertrain. -

Is the Apple Play and Google Play integration not supposed to fix this problem of sucky Nav's? Big problem that was created by the OEMs was they want to charge $500 for a Nav update. That DVD update is just so overpriced when you have your smartphone maps being updated all the time during the year. This has been my biggest complaint to GM about not using smart Nav's that update all the time over their satellite system. GM could have destroyed the competition by giving continuous updates to their auto nav systems over the OnStar network. They could have done this years before anyone thought of Google or Apple play. Yet that "We have to nickle and dime the consumer", is what has hurt more than helped them. @Drew Dowdell @William Maley Guys, can you expand on the Google / Apple Play system? Does it give you the smartphone maps on the built in car nav system? Or what is the details here? My mind is drawing a blank and I think this would be a great write up on the inner workings of this system.

What is so confusing? I was getting my normal service done and checking out the lot, a guy had just traded in his prancing pony for a CTS-V. Old guy came in with his old Alante and decided he wanted a new cadillac, he loved the bright blue metallic ATS Coupe they had. So traded in his old coupe for a new one. Funny thing is he only drives about 1-2 times a year. Crazy when you have that much extra money I guess, but fun non the less.

Italian HP traded in for American V power! Just traded in for a new ATS coupe, only 10,324 miles on the odometer.

Valid point well taken, cheaper Petro rather than diesel would do wonders. Also changing how they tax engine size would help too. Overall, I think they could come up with a much better tax solution than they currently have. But step in right direction would be to tax diesel higher and lower on petro. I understand your desire to move slowly as people choose to buy hybrids / ev's.

What is wrong with extreme and radical thinking? If it helps cool the planet and clean up the air, then why not change to a better way of transportation and help out the planet, help out those that have lung issues. Why not radically change to make things better? I was behind two semi's this morning and 4 school buses going off to pick up their kids. Amazing the amount of Diesel smell and pollution that was sent out when the light turned green. Why not remove this from the streets and have silent auto's that do not cause you to breath that toxic waste into your lungs? End result, is not all radical extreme thinking is bad, especially when it comes to the health of my fellow man and woman. Cleaner air for all.

Awesome job on the paint and the tie rods.

Whether you like it or not, fossil fuel auto's and trucks are coming to the end of their life. I covered the MB Semi's and that Japan has medium duty EV trucks. This is a perfect solution for city delivery, no noise, no pollution in the face of people walking the streets. It will not end immediately, but even if they stop building fossil fuel auto's and trucks in 2030. they will still have them on the road for a while. Yet the future is coming and change is going to happen.

Being so high up in VW, I doubt he was that ignorant about this. Everyone else seems to have known about it, how does one work in a company and not know some of the dirty laundry going on. He just did not have any evidence show up yet that proves he was also in the know.

Heritage? They gave up on that in the 90's. Hell any chance of even wanting to keep Chrysler alive went out the door with letting Fiat take over Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & RAM. Heck FCA - Fiat Chrsyler Automobile is really more of a FJA - Fiat Jeep Automobile. They should have just gone with IAA - Italian American Automobiles as the Corporate parent company name and then you can do what you want when you want with the name plates. I honestly think Fiat is doing to Chrysler what GM did to Pontiac. Starve it of any product and then just kill it off.

This new Manly Beetle is far better than the New Beetle. Yet with that said, while the wife loves the beetle, it would never get into our household due to it not being an american auto company and interior size. Does not fit my large frame. Plus I just love my raised sitting high SUV's Over all, a great road rally car I think with as others have said, plenty of fun personality to make it quirky fun!

CRS, June 13: Members of Congress are eligible for a pension at the age of 62 if they have completed at least five years of service. Members are eligible for a pension at age 50 if they have completed 20 years of service, or at any age after completing 25 years of service. The amount of the pension depends on years of service and the average of the highest three years of salary. By law, the starting amount of a Member’s retirement annuity may not exceed 80% of his or her final salary. That means that members of the House of Representatives — who are up for reelection every two years — would not be able to collect pensions of any amount if they only served one term. U.S. senators, on the other hand, serve six-year terms and would be able to collect pensions after one full term. Federal Employees' Retirement System Act of 1986 - This is the new pension fund that congress created for all federal workers including themselves. Rank-and-File Members: The current salary (2016) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year. Congress: Leadership Members' Salary (2016) Leaders of the House and Senate are paid a higher salary than rank-and-file members. Senate Leadership Majority Party Leader - $193,400 Minority Party Leader - $193,400 House Leadership Speaker of the House - $223,500 Majority Leader - $193,400 Minority Leader - $193,400 Pay Increases Members of Congress are eligible to receive the same annual cost-of-living increase given to other federal employees, if any. The raise takes effect automatically on January 1 of each year unless Congress, through passage of a joint resolution, votes to decline it, as Congress has done since 2009.
