Tesla Decides Model S Isn't Fast Enough, Announces P100D
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
HyperTube, the ultimate stage left move to distract peeps! -
He still averages in the high 20's, he just got back from a trip with his girlfriend. A week all over the coast of Oregon and then into the mountains around there but on the beach with his jeep and on lumber roads and other places and he over all for the whole trip averaged 27 mpg. He is approaching 100K miles and I have to say pretty impressed with the jeep. At 6'6" tall I am more than comfy in the jeep for long trips.

Patriots Rock no matter how much Consumer Reports say they are junk. My son still has his 2012 and for the most part it has been very stable and it gets well used both on road and off. He has the Off Road Trail Rated package on his mid level Patriot. Never got stuck going off road or up the mountain to ski. Great auto's especially for the price.

Awesome Ride That is a hot car for sure!

So wonder how much of this was made up before reports come out about presales and the need to roll the sales back.

Frisky's Back With a New 'What Would You Buy Instead?"
G. David Felt replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
Appreciate the expanded options, but for me those auto's I just do not find attractive. The Aston Martin on the other hand is all kinds of sexy! -
So there is this web site that covers 25 cars inspired by airplanes in the US. Talk about some lovely rides and concepts. http://www.complex.com/sports/2013/05/25-cars-inspired-by-airplanes-and-fighter-jets/ But are you thinking about the Mustang fighter that inspired the Mustang car?

Frisky's Back With a New 'What Would You Buy Instead?"
G. David Felt replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
Coupes Suck, they are so anti big guys. Since Cadillac no longer builds any 2 door coupes, my next choice would be to squeeze myself into the Aston Martin Vantage. I do agree with Olds, no price max, then the DB11 -
Frisky's Back With a New 'What Would You Buy Instead?"

Tesla S P100D is $158,200 before federal $7,500 reduction ending at $150,500 so price is there, but coupe can be 4 door or 2 door so how does this not meet what you have stated. You did not state traditional 2 door coupe only. Remember everyone seems to be on the stupid coupe design for every auto now, even CUV's like the butt ugly BMW X6. -

Tesla P100D please. -
Actually that is only as long as you stay within the contract of 12K or 15K miles. Otherwise, the cost is incredibly expensive. Example is if I leased my Escalade for 15,000 miles, I would have had to pay an extra $3750 per year as during the first 4 years I averaged 30,000 miles a year driving. So the first 15,000 would have been covered under the lease at $1099.00 per month on the 15K year deal for 36 months. But then I would have had to pay up another $11,250 at the end of the lease and go into another lease. At least my escalade I own and now that I do not drive it that much, since it is a 2006, 10 years later, it is now considered low mileage as I only use it for personal long distance road trips. So about 10K a year and it is paid for but I have total comfort and luxury for my road trips. End result is Leasing works for the Right Use Case.

VW going cheap and mass market is a failure waiting to happen. Product that drives passion is what they need. Their current product line is bland, boring and overall Meh, forgettable. That is the real problem, not pricing and mass quantity. This plan is a failure in the making.

Tesla Decides Model S Isn't Fast Enough, Announces P100D
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
OK, Had to go find this and sure enough on their Forum about Ludicrous mode they do chat about battery hit. If I am reading the forum right, each 0-60 Ludicrous mode run take 13% of the battery. https://forums.tesla.com/forum/forums/ludicrous-mode-there-more-room-improve-acceleration So that means you get 7 runs at 0-60 before you have 9% battery left to limp over to the Supercharger and recharge. Also found this how the Tesla stands up against the other supercars in price and performance. Pretty Sweet, great Bang for the Buck! Just realized that BMW made it on the list but not MB. Guess the AMG label is not able to break 4 seconds in a 0-60 run in a 4 door sedan. -

Agreed, I would also love to know just how much of a hit the Ludicrous mode takes on the battery. -
Ugh, Apple is what I leave in the garbage. Stuff is terrible, lousy interface and just not enterprise friendly. But then they did make their product for those that want to be directed in what they can do. I will stick with Intel based systems running windows or Linux. Real Enterprise working machines.

Those customers are the ones with little itty bitty wee wee and so need to make up for it by being able to go 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. After all once they shoot their electric load they are done, nothing more. -
I hear in the SouthEast US, baking is a popular way to pay for a new car every 6 weeks. JK

Audi News: Rumorpile: Audi Approves Model S Fighter
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Audi
Interesting, the first of the Germans to take on Tesla and a possible ride to dethrone the MB S-Class. This is very interesting indeed. I expect this will do well in the limited high end sedans.
