  1. The 1990's were a perfect example of Right and Left coming together to achieve much. We have lost those days of talking and negotiating to get programs achieved that are good for the planet and humanity.
  2. First off the TT V6 was not planned to be doubled to a V12 and the days of a V12 are coming to a close. The investment makes no business sense as even BMW and MB is having to find alternative places to sell their bigger motors as the R&D dollars are no longer recoverable in such a small numbers of auto's sold. The future is smaller Turbo / Supercharged ICE engines, Hybrids and EV's. You know this as you have even pointed out the future of your beloved MB hybrid and EV programs.
  3. Would you like some Dim Sum with that Buick today? I make you good deal!
  4. Nope never will think I speak for you, or anyone else. Just pointing out that gov plays a role in balancing out business especially when business is slow to change for the better of the planet and humans. I respect yours and everyone else's opinion. I am just going to point out the need to come back to center. Balance for the better of humanity and the planet. This is all about the good of the whole not the one. Trump is trying to gut the EPA for the good of the 1, this being the overpaid CEO's of companies that would like to go unchanged making a profit while damaging the planet and or humanity.
  5. Can I get mine with rubber fender flairs and tall 36" BF Goodrich All terrains, low end lockers. I loved my Old Station wagon that we lifted.
  6. And yet if we left it like you say we all would still be driving lead fueled auto's breathing terrible air and dying off while the 1% are richer and saying who cares, I got my profit. You have to have a balance and right now the EPA is out of balance with technology and time, but you have to push the auto companies. They would still be in a early 1970's model if not for the oil crises and gov pushing to clean up the air. Hell you might not have even been born as lead was greatly reducing male sperm.
  7. Be interesting to see how much of the market they can grab being so late to the party?
  8. HAPPY St. Patrick's Day!
  9. Good Point, I was trying to find info and all Bloomberg says is that the numbers are based on the last 10 years of sales. Sales being registered auto's in production. So I guess the numbers are based on taking the year over year growth and projecting them out.
  10. Some interesting stats but they do seem to have electrical, engine and especially powertrain problems. 2016 is shown as very bad for these 3 items. http://www.truedelta.com/Volvo-XC90/problems-292 http://www.carcomplaints.com/Volvo/XC90/ http://repairpal.com/transmission-failure-common-257 Interesting, many XC90 owners have gone through 2 transmissions in a 100,000 miles of ownership. WOW
  11. So here is a couple charts based on the most current solid sales data. First trucks versus car sales. We all understand that SUV / CUVs fall under the Truck label. Projected Sales of EV's moving Forward versus ICE, HEV, BEV, PHEV.
  12. That is very interesting to hear about supercharged 4 bangers. Will be interesting to see how they deal with the heat and stress long term. Did not know they were pushing the engines that hard. How much increase in compression are they doing? Hevy they moved to compression on their gas engines like on a diesel?
  13. Not Sold that a full size SUV can go the distance like my 1994 V8 Suburban with 300K miles plus. When I see heavy full size SUV's with 4 banger motors hit half a million miles with minimal, just basic maintenance, then I will say OK, I will give up my V8. I actually expect them to go EV before going 4 banger.
  14. Interesting study of the impact of SUV sales in the US! http://www.cta.ornl.gov/cta/Publications/Reports/Analysis_of_Impact_of_SUVs_in_US.pdf
  15. Maybe Fords Way to eventually kill off their V8's as they do a global powertrain that focuses on taxing per size. Just a guess but something I have noticed in all my world travels. More companies seem to be focused on the stupid tax on your engine size.
  16. Alfredo Sauce for dipping!
  17. When you see BMW, Audi and MB everywhere especially a ton of the 3 class and C class and A3 and cheaper models compared to my Escalade. I stay I have plenty of status. I take my Escalade ESV Platinum edition any day over those other companies.
  18. Hey Balthazar, Yes these are the official released pics from Porsche. Here are some actual real pics from the auto show and a video they posted to you tube.
  19. The Emissions thing had me wondering what China Standard is and what they plan to do. Interesting is two posts from 2013 where China asked the US EPA to help them write and implement US Emission standards for China. 2013 stories http://www.autonews.com/article/20131205/OEM11/131209907/u.s.-to-help-china-crack-down-on-vehicle-emissions http://www.chinausfocus.com/energy-environment/china-tightens-air-pollution-standards/ 2016 Story update is how fast China has implemented the new standards and set 2020 as a required 47 mpg for all auto's. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1103585_china-accelerates-tougher-vehicle-emission-standards-starting-sooner This story quotes Honda, Ford, and others that they will have to sell small displacement Hybrid auto's to meet China's Emission standards. Just Bing or Google "china auto emission standards" and read the wide variety of stories from around the world covering China's push to EV their auto industry and push MPG even higher. Interesting is the number of stories where Ford and GM are stated as working on Global engines to meet the strict standards. They also talk about a global standard would be best so everyone has the same level playing field to build to. Interesting times we live in.
  20. Have to say this is the first Porsche that would make me want to consider buying one. I am excited that this will spawn a whole family of products. 2 & 4 door, convertible, etc. Love those Suicide Doors!!! This should be used in the Matrix reboot movies.
  21. @ocnblu How about rather than being a negative number troll, if you are gonna give a guy a negative down vote for what they post also post a counter argument for why you disagree. If not then you are doing what many here do not like and that is trolling just to troll. I know you are better than that Mr. Blu and I look forward to your counterpoint to my post.
  22. @Cmicasa the Great I agree with you that Cadillac on their current products need 2 door, 4 door sedans, coupes and convertibles. Love that cadillac you posted, such a beauty. Anything below an ATS soon to be CT3 and XT4 I think they can ignore.
  23. Your just moving the goal post again to try and justify that MB is no different than Chevy, Ford, Toyota or VW. They are no longer a luxury only auto builder. They have expanded their brand to cover everything and eventually that will change their badge image in the public's eye. Cadillac is rebuilding itself as a luxury builder and is looking at select profitable models over being in everything at every level. Two different approaches to market segments.
