  1. Time to hit China back, 25% tariff on our stuff, 25% tariff on your Chinese made stuff. Equal fair fees on the product.
  2. I love the body style of the 86,87 Monte Carlo SS. Give is a smooth clean update on the style but not the but ugly FWD appliance that they stuck the name on and with a proper EV powertrain and a decent 100KWh battery pack and you have an awesome daily driver.
  3. Agreed, Yes please to a modern underpinnings in some of the more iconic older auto's. Imagine a 1986 Areo Monte Carlo SS with an EV powertrain. That would rock!
  4. Just found this Lovely, some how I missed that Dodge showed off an awesome EV auto that never made it past concept in 2008. If Dodge had moved forward, they would have had the first mass market EV auto. Too bad FCA could not see the wisdom in building this. http://newatlas.com/chrysler-battery-electric-dodge-zeo-muscle-car/9121/#gallery Gotta Love the Original White Zombie EV!
  5. I would love a 1968 Mustang EV. Zombie 222 You should also check out the 1964 Continental EV in Matte Black. This will also rock the world as an EV. More including a convertible Mustang EV. http://www.zombie222.com/
  6. Damn, I was wondering where both of them had gone. That explains the noise in the background I heard for the first few years. Thanks, that explains allot.
  7. Washington State, Gas average is $2.09 per gallon and Diesel is $2.59. I have seen less and less Diesel on the road.
  8. To be expected, the North American market is all about the CUV/SUV right now. Good thing China is not used to regulations, crash testing, quality, etc. Otherwise they would try to find a way to flood America with their auto's cheaply. Most Chinese auto's are garbage and do not pass regulations in North America or Europe. One reason they are still stuck in their own country.
  9. I am finding that more and more Baby Boomers that had lovely Old Iron is selling them as they need their cash to live. Sad, but some amazing options for those of us that love collector cars.
  10. Is that what you call a Fisting Boat Anchor, Ying-Yang? I always thought it was a worthless Gochu! Not sure what the word is, look up in Korean language. The Socialist culture of Italy is their doom. Italy has many fine things but also builds a ton of crap products. Way too many lazy people building crappy products.
  11. Even with Cheap Gas, Diesel still is much higher than Gas. Smart move to drop Diesels.
  12. For the first couple months before it dies.
  13. So you are your own best friend then!
  14. I see the point your making, but even in the 80's as a college kid, I questioned the need for so many name plates. I honestly think the world wide auto industry still has way too many and with all the various Chinese name plates wanting to spread across the globe. I think we will see another consolidation and shutdown as not everyone will win. I Personally can see Chrysler going to the History books. Alfa should have been left there and Fiat could end up there too. Alfa/Fiat as a boutique is fine, move chrysler products into Dodge and focus as you have mentioned on the product lines world wide. I wonder about some of the name plates in Europe too. Just like Japan, I think eventually we will see certain brands become subbrands under bigger companies. Japan brands I can see going this way would be Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki.
  15. Retail has it's place especially for those that like to touch and see something before they buy. My wife is very much like this. I use Best Buy to show her what I want to do to our home theater system. Then I usually order it online at a huge savings. I will admit, Best Buy has gotten more competitive with Amazon and Ebay.
  16. I love what you stated, I would say dump Chrysler and move the Pacifica into Dodge. FCA, should dump all of Fiat other than the two you mention. Keep Fiat and Alfa as the Boutique sales. Focus on Dodge, Ram & Jeep. That is what I think would drive sales, but get new products ASAP into these companies.
  17. Dating myself, but when I used to work in the retail industry, this was in 1991, I was a Manger and helped open up the Computer City chain across the US. grew it from 8 original stores to the hundreds before it was sold to CompUSA. No one got off the Holidays. Pretty much you could forget any vacation request for Mid Nov to the end of the year. We do need to ensure families have time and ban having places open on Holidays as well as open up before say 6am on the day after the Holiday. That was what I always felt. Course as a computer engineer now, I pretty much am M-F with weekends and holidays off.
  18. Yawn, Nothing special here, just a Fire Sale to clear out GARBAGE Auto's. Fiat, you want to sell cars in America? First start with making reliable cars. Second start with making auto's that actually fit Americans. Third, try to actually have a diverse portfolio rather than coping Mini with the same half baked garbage. Fourth, drop the used car sales approach and listen to the customer. I could go on and on but I think you get the point, FCA, you listening?
  19. We should start a movement to ban all work on holidays other than food, hotels, for the most part ensure almost everyone gets the time off. Family time is important.
  20. I wonder why GM has not thought of testing the waters and using in wheel hub motors, replace the whole underside with a battery pack on the Suburban? http://www.proteanelectric.com/ I really like some of the AWD auto's they have done to try and get OEMs to consider using their motors. The F150 is awesome.
  21. Short Work week and having a hard time focusing on actually doing work!
  22. Come on out, Little Korea is awesome up in my neck of the woods. China town in Seattle, Little Japan in Bellevue and little Saigon in Renton. So many great places to visit and eat. Yea, I also got burnt out on normal Turkey and we now do just our favorites on T-Day. So for us, we actually cook a big Chicken, Ham, Candid Yams, Mash Potatoes, Stuffing and a Variety of Asian dishes. Have a tone of people over and a relaxing day of eating, socializing and being thankful for living in such a DIVERSE Country!
  23. That is OK ccap, I hold no grudges and you are welcome to all my turkey. I eat all your ham! Hell Yes! Thai, Japanese, Korean I am down for anything Asian. Dec 10 My wife and I will host our annual Mandu making party. For those not familiar with the term, that is Korean dumplings or pot stickers. We usually make a good 500 to 1000. Everyone gets to take some home and we have plenty for our New Years Day soup plus some crunchy Mandu during the holidays!
