  1. CT6, the car everyone seems to want to use for it's whipping boy. Wonder if it is that they are all so jealous of the auto that they have to nit pick.
  2. +1 and in agreement with Balthazar and A Horse with no Name. Pass on both of these bland dinosaurs.
  3. Failure!, Coupe design is so over done. VW has a history of doing a jelly bean generic blend that does not stand out. At this point, they are hurting so bad due to the diesel scandal that they could use a hit with a truly fresh and stand out design. Time to bring back some original sedan designs that are a break from the coupe design.
  4. Agree, after a long holiday break, really hard to get back into the flow of working.
  5. Gonna have to be far more than just $5K to make me consider one. I would be expecting 10-15K off to move them.
  6. Hummer should have had the Alpha out day one when they did a truck. That would have made them a leader with many sales. They did too little too late for the trucks in Hummer. Cadillac had a winning truck and walked away from it for stupid reason I am pretty sure. They should have continued the Avalanche and the EXT. Lincoln truck was cool but way too wrong for the market. Failure from the concept to the end. MB could do a truck and I think making it part of the G-Class would be a smart way to go with a butch Military Luxury ride. I think MB could find buyers for the badge job then.
  7. Thank you, yes it was a wonderful 49th b-day. 1 more and the big 50 hits me and yet I still have not hit middle age meltdown. Spent the day bowling with the family, then they took me out to lunch and I got movies to add to my rather large 1400+ movie collection. Over all a great day. Everyone have a great week. Mine is starting out swell.
  8. Glad you like it, for me there is nothing special about owning these over priced badge jobs. You want passion from MB, here are some auto's that stir the passion of wanting to drive them.
  9. This is just another butt ugly jelly bean auto that I cannot tell is this an A, C, D, E or S? They all look the same and nothing exciting to stir the passion of driving other than the badge.
  10. Very cool Movie. Awesome to see you guys working on the truck and hear it running.
  11. Crispy deep fried is crunchy goodness!
  12. Yes it is much better in both the XT5 and CT6, but I still think this is one area that Cadillac could truly dump the system and start with a clean sheet design incorporating Apple and Android play and have a superior system to everyone else.
  13. WOW, soo cool, I wonder how much it slips on the logs. Big ass rims, steel I imagine.
  14. Might be more than you think, Germany is clearly not happy with VW Diesel and is pushing for the same program, same settlement terms as the US. Where Germany goes, the rest of Europe is sure to follow.
  15. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, to all humans everywhere, the desire for Freedom of life, press, communication, to raise one without control of a government. I thank the multiple generations of Marines on both sides of my family for the freedoms I have today. Oo Rah To each and everyone member on this forum, Thank you for participating and giving to this country no matter how we see things, each of us offers DIVERSITY that makes us STRONGER! Happy Thanks Giving Oo Rah!
  16. Totally understandable as the expense of getting them recertified here and the over all image makes me think VW is going to just walk away from doing any Diesel thing.
  17. Totally agree, the rear visibility out of your shoulder checks is terrible.
  18. So True with BMW and then you have what I consider a cardinal sin. MB with making every model look identical from the cheap A series to the S series, other than size, most cannot tell which is which with that mess.
  19. I read this and while I love the CT6, some things still clearly need to be addressed. Yet with that said, I think they also clearly missed issues with the others too. Over all the biggest issue is the CUE and I do wonder when Cadillac will realize that they need to make a drastic change here on that system. I personally have not had the issue with CUE that many here and in other web sites covering the auto industry have had. With that said, I will say that the touch pad sucks, but then they all do and especially for me as it seems they only work about 10% of the time especially on laptops. The day they stop incorporating the little joystick between the GHB keys I will be forced to always have a mouse.
  20. @ccap41 I agree with you that the current product line for me at least still stirs a desire to own the latest version. Now if I can just pay off my son's and Wife's college bills. So glad they are done, then I can get back to enjoying buying auto's. @Cory Wolfe I see your valid point, I do think and agree that Cadillac needs to tweak the A&S design language. They still need to keep certain elements in tack like the vertical LED tail lights as well as a few other attributes, but they do need to tweak it here and there.
  21. By the time the second generation truck comes along, I expect big changes to happen in the US and MB will truly be too late to the party. They are already late if they thought they could sell a truck here. Now they are all but forgotten. On the opposite side of this coin, I think this is a smart move to not bring it here. More and more you read about how MB has watered down their image and many are questioning if they really are a luxury car builder or just another Toyota, FORD, Chevrolet brand type dealer with a few high priced models. This truck would I think have pushed them truly into that image of a larger mass market brand and not the ubber Luxury brand they have fostered over the years. I wonder if this is not playing a part in the current CEO deciding to not bring the truck here.
  22. Interesting that we have not seen Cadillac design language being ripped of or copied by the asians. Guess it is too extreme for their taste.
  23. C&D published the following story about the 70's special edition trucks. Some are just so funny as I never heard or saw them, others are clearly not PC in today's world and others are just funny as heck. What was marketing thinking? A special set of stickers makes the truck better than the default truck of the same package? Some will like certain models just like me. I actually like the GMC Diablo, which really is just an rebadge El Camino. Never knew that the Chevy Luv truck was sold in 77 as a Mighty Mike version, but nothing better other than a 10hp bump in the engine. Seems all the domestic makers went through a clearly Indian theme on blazers, broncos and the trucks with their feather motif. Check it out, pretty surprising on some, meh on others. http://www.caranddriver.com/flipbook/mondo-macho-special-edition-trucks-of-the-70s-k-billys-super-badge-and-stripe-jobs
  24. Agree, GM needs to get the BOLT and VOLT power train into many more auto's.
