  1. Looks like a butched up station wagon. Nothing new or exciting to see here.
  2. True, but then not everyone expects to have to replace things earlier in their life cycle. Life happens and in a country that really depends on an auto to get around, then you deal with the hand that is dealt to you.
  3. Here are some 4wd EV options for you. http://newatlas.com/zoomability-zoom-off-road-wheelchair/36082/ This might be more up your road! https://www.alke.com/4wd-vehicles
  4. That is too funny and yet Coral Sea is a dead boat in the history books. Still funny to read. 14,893 charging stations in the US is still nothing to sneeze at!
  5. That rocks! Remember, Dreams is what drives us to succeed. Always have stretch dreams that push you to go beyond everyone's expectation so you can then enjoy the best.
  6. The sales just prove that Alfa should have been left in the history books, the money stolen from the US units should have gone back into those divisions products. ALFA and FIAT will be the death of FCA.
  7. Exactly, I love nice things and I save for the best, but some times life throws a curve ball and you have to deal with a short term solution. These tires have what it takes to give you a couple years of solid driving and when you are in a better cash flow situation, then you can trade them in on better tires. Reality is that I find most tires at the 50% tread life left even Michelin still are not as solid as new. Just the way it is and yes with better components, you do get a better grip, ride, etc. Yet point made by you is things are tight and you need new tires. Better to get a solid performing tire like these for a couple years than going in deeper debt for the best. The best can come in 2 years or so when things will be better. I believe you will see things better by then. Good luck with your tires.
  8. Wrote a whole piece in the alternative forum about the west coast electric highway. http://westcoastgreenhighway.com/electrichighway.htm I can tell you all that the High Tech Industry is all for electric auto's and with the Chevy BOLT here, Nissan Leaf 2.0 in a year, Hyundai Ionic here now and the Tesla 3 in 2018, I seriously do not see Trump derailing this. Trump can and would win many supporters if he supported the US building a 350kW infrastructure in North America. Canada and Mexico would jump on board and we could have a new Industrial revolution. Just think about the new smarter Electric grid and the new charging stations, you can still have that coffee stop, plug in the auto, grab your Starbucks and 15 min later out the door back on the road after hitting the head.
  9. Good generic tire, much better than mix n match used tires or low tread tires. I would go for this to have a safe driving winter.
  10. One cannot put a price on quality of life. Safety is the utmost when it comes to your car and tires are the most important in making sure you can drive safely your family and friends. I agree, look for a solid good used set or just do the one tire, save up and then do the other 3.
  11. Yup, never understood the jones jones competition. My oldest sister is this way and it has cost her a marriage, both equally at fault. I make good money but see no need to waste it on over priced stuff, I get what I need and enjoy and to hell with showing up the neighbors. They do not pay my bills.
  12. Bummer, that sucks, I feel your pain. Trade up to a Dog, Dogs are way easier than cats IMHO. JK, I know folks love their cats like I love dogs. Sucks to have to medicate a family member, wishing you all the best.
  13. I could see Cadillac once they sort out the proper EV Engine going with an F1 EV team. I wonder if NASCAR will ever consider an EV program? Honestly, Electric would be the way to go of showing true leadership and innovation.
  14. Agree with the comment that Cadillac needs an even higher level of Escalade and having an Escalade V would be a benefit also.
  15. If it was Chevy with it's long history of Corvette racing, fine. But Caddy, should be focusing every dollar on the auto's they sell and a way better marketing message. The money spent on racing could have gone for a new CUE system to upgrade the existing one. Focus should be at this time on marketing, sales and quality of product. Leave racing to Chevy which has a superior racing history.
  16. Racing is the wrong place to invest money. Start with the Snooze marketing program they have, the idiot choices to not commit to the higher end auto price points. The needs to make the existing product lines best in class so that subject BS like MT review of the CT6 is ignored by most everyone. Time to focus on the auto's you sell and the message that goes along with it not wasted on racing a prototype that will have no connection to the selling inventory.
  17. Nothing new, but expected. I still think it would be cheaper to just buy them back, crush them and move forward.
  18. That is the wonder of Photoshop, they could have done very little actual engineering work and only done design work on Photoshop dragging out the project and having something to excite the dealers when they really had nothing and then use the frame as a weak ass excuse to delay this. The images show they have ideas, but nothing actually real yet. I still think this is due to them not having any cash.
  19. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com C&G Hottest Rides List! The goal here is to have members post what they would have on a list of hottest rides. Anything is a go, yet with that said I would like you to look into your own history of auto's and what you feel would be respectable rides. We can always do a list of ubber luxury hot rod rides, I would like this to be more of a common persons ride list. With that I will start it off with what I would have on this list: 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aero Coupe 1987 Buick Regal GNX Grand National 1991 GMC Syclone 1992 GMC Typhoon 2008 Chevy AWD Trailblazer SS So what would you add as the Common persons Hot Rod?
  20. Agreed as to why I think this is more of a blame game for them to delay this auto as they do not have the cash. Blame it on the frame with their weak ass excuse and delay doing this till they are bought out or bankrupt.
  21. Interesting figures, yes a few years old but then history still shows some interesting graphs: http://www.freeby50.com/2008/11/history-of-new-car-costs-and-average.html Love this one since is also has wages, homes, as well as cars. http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/70yearsofpricechange.html Wages have for sure not kept up with home and car prices. We really need to see a massive correction in the crazy prices things sell for. Interesting to see the Consumer prices for this year month by month. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.nr0.htm Course seeing the price index from 1913 to 2016 is also impressive. http://www.inflationdata.com/inflation/Consumer_Price_Index/HistoricalCPI.aspx?reloaded%3Dtrue?reloaded=true http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/consumer-price-index-and-annual-percent-changes-from-1913-to-2008/ This last link really drives home the point of crazy price increases when you look at the index from 2000 to 2016. 2000 to 2008 we saw our largest increases in prices at a time of diminished wages under the government than. 2008 to 2016 saw wages rise but so did cost of things. We need a much better balance.
  22. True, but still cool. Would be interesting to see what a C&G top 100 hottest rides of all time would look like.
  23. Agree, that racing can help with the image issue. Yet this can also be handled with a proper marketing campaign that many here including myself feel Cadillac is still missing. Their marketing / advertising leaves much to be desired. I feel it is still a failure and if they did it right they could get the image issue resolved while building better auto's.
  24. True, but for hot rods the list is still a blast with many awesome rides that I feel beat the two luxury's listed at the start of this thread.
