  1. Your Welcome, I searched Ford.com on the corporate side for updated EV info and could not find anything, this was the most current I could find, So figure they started a year before this. Hopefully show off at the auto shows this year their EV concept and have it in production by 2018 ahead of Tesla as I doubt and I think we all would agree Tesla has yet to deliver anything on time, so I figure we will see Ford's 200+ mile EV out around the same time as Nissan Leaf 2.0 and the update to Ioniq from Hyundai.
  2. Ford does seem to think it is time to invest 4.5 Billion in true EV auto's. http://blog.caranddriver.com/ford-announces-4-5-billion-investment-in-electrified-vehicles-by-2020/
  3. PASS, Waste of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM billions stolen by idiot Fiat and their attempt to bring back a dead name plate. End result killing the brands that make money and letting them rot to death while they bring back overpriced Italian garbage. Not impressed,
  4. I understand what you are saying, but I have to say I have enjoyed the reboot and the new movies. 1 was good, 2 Meh, 3 was way better and the whole family enjoyed it especially the ladies who were never fans before. I think the reboot has adapted to attracting a wider audience, does this take away from the original theme and focus? YES, I think it does, hard core fans who started out with the original TV series and grew up on it like me have had my hate it love it affair with the whole various series on TV and Movies. Yet with that said, I think they did an outstanding job on rebooting this franchise. I personally hope they do a nice tribute to Chekov in the next movie. LOL, Guess we need a Star Wars debate / Discussion thread as I have some deep feelings about the series and love it all of them including the love Storyish #2, but this is about Star Trek! I have enjoyed the reboot, #2 left me with mixed feelings, loved the first one and the 3rd one. I think the 3rd one shows what future cities in space could look like. I loved the tie in with older vessels and the change over from a military group to a science research reach out to other species. I thought they have tied in with past original Star Trek really well in #3. Loved the tribute to Leonard Nimoy.
  5. That totally rocks! Easy, Per our own HR department, if you write your resume to match up to the job description or industry job roll, you will get calls no matter what via email or phone. Crazy software focuses on the key words and not on much else. Are you sure that is not your socks with the warm runny feeling down your legs?
  6. Anyone know where VW is in the pecking order of 1 to 10 of the top ten auto sales companies off the top of your head? I would think sure market those auto's you want to your loyal quirky fan base, but you also need to market to those you want to win over from the competition and I see nothing that would give VW conquest sales.
  7. Anddddddddd in that lays the problem. VW clearly markets to the quirky customer and seems to miss the rest of the country. They come across as a very generic, blah way too conservative auto company with nothing that stirs the passion in me. In fact the only thing that comes to mind is that VW I associate with the Make Love, Not War Drug using Hippies of the 60's. Auto's that are always clogging up the roads and going slow. Where is the "Fahrvergnügen" ? I remember my parents checking out VW in the 90's and both were Meh, just did not resonate other than a cool commercial, but the actual auto's just missed everything that the rest of the auto companies seem to hit. Here is where I think VW has failed to realize that their German marketing program does not really work in the US. What fly's elsewhere in their larger markets seems to be what really holds them back here.
  8. I see this as selling to badge snobs the world over and the poorly literate rappers who think being derogatory to everyone especially themselves makes them cool and this ride will make them better than everyone until they are bankrupt. Just about anything is better than this product line. Truly a 1% product that is out of touch with the world.
  9. Hallucinogenics got Jeep this! Though cool info as it has gone through various colors and the current in 96 was Cameo. Full info on this first 4x4 SUV is at http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/jeep/bolide.php Course there was also Jeeps 4x4 XJ-001 version too: No mater how you look at it, some one was on Puff The Magic Dragon!
  10. Howdy all C&G Forum fans, time to get the Sci-Fi debate on! So we have what has been well received as the official reboot of Star Trek. Characters that truly represent the original crew of the Enterprise and some kick ass entertaining movies. Officially original Spock has died and a solid tribute to him was done in the last movie. Sadly the actor playing Chekov died over the summer due to an accident with his jeep and pinning him down till he suffocated and died. So lets discuss where we think this story is going to go, take the easy way with refiliming the same story lines, new story lines, what? How will they deal with Chekov's death? Will they mark it as an away or leave ending in his death, green screen him in and have him die in action since they are away in deep space? Get out those thinking hats and lets discuss! Star Trek, the next voyage!
  11. Can they update their powertrain line too please, so behind the times in HP / Torque on top of shaking my head design language, quality materials, etc.
  12. Sales might indicate up against last year, but off from before that. At least here in Washington state VW is hurting compared to what they did before. Every auto has zero down, zero first month payment and .9% interest for 60 months when you look at specials via www.vw.com. 0% for 60 months on Golf and Tiguan. Yet then if you go out to the local dealer web sites, it gets even more interesting with thousands off each model, oil changes for life, maintenance covered free during warranty period. I get the feeling that VW is hurting far more than the sales numbers indicate. Talking to people about what they think, one does not get a rosey feeling when you ask a person, "What do you think of VW auto's?"
  13. Agree with this, right now VW name is MUD to most consumers and except for hard core fans, their current product line up is not winning any conquest buyers and they are currently I bet loosing existing ones over Dieselgate! Depending on what they do in the next 12-18 months, they just might need to replace the VW dealers as rebadged Skoda Dealers or at least add Skoda specific models to the VW dealers. Have both in the same place.
  14. Gotta Love old Iron, found this story on a restored 1961 GMC Suburban that now has a Duramax Diesel in and it is totally a sweet ride. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/1961-gmc-suburban-combines-the-best-of-both-worlds/ar-AAlgpDg?li=BBnb7Kz#image=AAlgzv7|1 Love restored old iron with new tech powertrains that make them way better than they used to be.
  15. The VOLT is an awesome auto for those under 6' tall. For me at 6'6" tall I could not fit in the back seat and barely fold myself up into the front seat. Awesome auto for many people just not us big people. Have either of you played with the BOLT configurator on the web site? Lots of fun, Plus the BOLT owners manual is a blast to look through as it is well done, but I have to say the minimal maintenance schedule is something to love by anyone not wanting to deal with the maintenance of an ICE.
  16. Hi CCAP, the link was in my original post here but I will also include it here. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-02/ford-open-to-making-deals-with-trump-on-keeping-jobs-ceo-says You can also go to bloomberg and they have the transcript online for the hearing impaired or at least they did the last time I was there. Enjoy, plenty of double speak and I stand by my take on the interview.
  17. Interesting, I think the best combo will be the 2.0 Turbo and the Diesel. Wish they had a VOLT power train in this auto with AWD as that would just rock.
