  1. I wonder if they could build this tire and put a side wall on it to keep things out.
  2. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Michelin X Tweel Tires, Future Tire Today! Michelin for the last 10 plus years has been playing with an airless tire. The goal has been a tire that has no air valves, no more need for air compressors at gas stations or any auto dealership or repair place, no more repair kits and no more flats, ever! We have seen many presentations by Michelin at auto shows over the years presenting various proto types but for the most part the story has been the same. With this we went through stories about the Military exploring this as a better way to deal with unknowns in the war zone / deployments. Testing is still going on today. There has been many marketing presentations from Michelin showing their testing. Today Michelin has in the last few months finally went main stream and you now have the official web site. MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® Airless Radial Tire Web Site Michelin X Tweel Images on Bing The web site shows that they have them available for select applications on Tractors, lawn mowers, golf carts, Fork Lifts, ATV's, etc. Auto's are stated to be coming fall 2017. It is really amazing to see and the life of these tires is far longer and totally recyclable. Some very big gains over traditional tires. What do you think? Is this Awesome Cool Tech or DOA, takes away from the look of the car and what? Sound Off Peeps!
  3. Yea, that would rock! Put this electric racing motor in it. 420HP 560 Lb Ft reving to 10K RPM from AM Racing. Total weight 180lbs. Details
  4. First Sergio is a CHUMP and an IDIOT! Second, Ford is way too happy and ignoring the fact that 2025 is not going to really change and the latest just published on CARBS own web site for what they want by 2030 will make repealing the EPA 2025 mandates hard. https://www.arb.ca.gov/newsrel/newsrelease.php?id=891 Mary seems to take the best tone of working with the POTUS. I think she knows that rolling back CAFE is not really going to happen. Interesting times we live in.
  5. It is a CUV world we live in, I do not expect to be wowed or surprised, I have a feeling it will be a average auto that will sell.
  6. Have to say the more I look at these two Equinox and the Traverse I see much that matches the suburban. Both are lovely rides! The Traverse I think looks like a mini Suburban.
  7. @hyperv6 @oldshurst442 Appreciate the support and wisdom you have gained and shared. I have in place the power of attorney, wills and right now my sisters agreements with it all. I do wonder how both my sisters will act once all the appointments this week are done and we know the facts. Hopefully everyone can still be an adult and deal with it properly. Thanks again guys, appreciate it.
  8. Just imagine a tourqey EV or Hybrid version! I see the Future of them having a 4 and 8 banger and then an EV or Hybrid as the power lineup. Thinking on this, eventually the V8 will probably be replaced with a Turbo V6 due to stupid taxation on engine size around the world.
  9. Thanks Hyper, appreciate the input, duly noted. Appreciate you sharing with me your own experience.
  10. H'mmm hope they do it right and not cut corners. I would expect China to have more sales than in the US after all 1/5th of the worlds population is there. Be interesting to see how they keep the lights on and doors open with no new product till mid 2018. I hope they have something new to come out this year.
  11. Yawn, such a small tight cuv. I have friends that love the crosstrek and are small but for peeps over 5'8" tall forget it. Hopefully they have fixed the interior space.
  12. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 2017 is my year for family life as I am truly the parent to my parents. Doctor called my mom in for consultation on Sunday. Seems she has two masses that showed up in her cat scan on Saturday as they released her from the hospital after her strokes to go home. Taking her to a specialist now later this week. Doctor was talking to my parents and my dad was asking questions that the doctor had just answered and so he did a quick check on him and told me and my sister he has concerns so a cat scan will be done on him today. Suspect Dementia or Alzheimer's. Gonna try to be positive about this and I do appreciate all the kind words from everyone, but this is not how I expected 2017 to go as my parents are only in their mid 70's. WTF is with 2017?
  13. WOW, Had no Idea how small the AU market was till I read some of the stories on the links and got pointers to the 2016 final numbers for Holden. They placed 4th dropping out of the top 3 positions with only 94K auto sold. They lost 3rd place by just a few more Camry that were sold, first time ever Toyota beat Holden in AU. Holden responded that this was due to the shift from cars to CUV/SUVs and that their Dec numbers placed them above Toyota solid in the #3 spot and that their shift from a car dominance to a CUV/SUV will allow them to take back their market share and best brand sold in AU. Gonna be interesting is all I can say! The Final product line of V8 RWD inspired Local built Holdens are hot! https://www.wheelsmag.com.au/news/1701/sprung-hsvs-final-model-line-up-caught-in-the-wild Love the Ute, too bad it never made it here.
  14. Just the fact that it is based on a Fiat should make people run like hell.
  15. Thanks that was a good response and yes we need real performance based AWD / 4x4 trucks and SUV's. Caddy needs the wannabe's on V for the added profits it helps the company with, but no reason to not also let the CUV have some fun. I agree that I hate the BMW Coupe X series, ugly, useless in regards to the examples you supplied. But then I would never take my SS off road and I doubt anyone would take their GC SRT off road also. Kinda like the Porsche SUV.
  16. What is wrong with a corvette based SUV? Trailblazer AWD SS that I own is a blast to drive. The GMC Typhoon was a blast. We need a V series Escalade. That would get me to trade in my current one. For those of us not fitting into performance cars, we need performance SUVs.
  17. New York Daily News Published UPDATED list of Takata Airbag Recall Auto's Pretty cool that here is the updated list of all affected auto's talk about a crazy long list. Interesting that the Toyota HighLander is not on the list. http://www.nydailynews.com/autos/news/takata-airbag-recall-list-cars-article-1.2602999 Seems GM products are limited to the full size trucks and SUVs only unlike Dodge and MB have everything listed.
  18. Very cool, maybe Holden can then apply the performance part to get us a new SS / performance AWD CUV for Chevy and GMC.
