  1. If Lincoln had figured out how to sell a Luxury Pickup Truck rather than the Blackwood Failure, you would also be combining sales. GMC is Fords Lincoln! Your Right Ford outsells Chevy, that is pretty much due to GMC being the Luxury brand of the Pickup Line. If Ford had figured out how to sell at even higher ATP trucks with Lincoln, you would be having Ford with combined truck sales too. You know this is true!
  2. Wish Jeep Compare model would actually allow you to add other Jeep models to compare. Would be interesting to see the 4x4 compass compare to a 4x4 wrangler. Yes one is FWD biased and the other is RWD bias, but still be interesting to compare. Will say that having owned a Wrangler in the past, blast to have for off road fun, but not a daily driver especially in heavy traffic.
  3. Hopefully this just means the Performance group will have kits to sell as some care more about boasting about the number than what can actually get to the ground. Course if they are testing with over 1000hp and hopefully 1000+ lbs of torque they will go AWD to make it truly happen.
  4. I will say that if you have been driving Ford for a long time, then the Ford products become very natural on how they work, same for us that have owned many GM products and gone through the generations of CUE, etc. I would say that Cmicasa and myself have the memory touch of how we interface with our system down and it works just fine. Even when my Dad traded in his pickup truck for a new SRX just before the XT-5 came out Cadillac spent an hour going over everything with them. That is how a knowledgeable salesperson closes out the deal. My parents left knowing how to fully use the CUE. Not had one problem since. I know this is the same for what I believe to be a non-user intuitive system in BMW and MB. If the salesperson does the right thing after selling the auto, they go over the complete system making sure the customer knows how to use it and use it successfully. Take with a grain of salt Auto Journalist who bitch about interfaces when they have spent a week at most with a system that they got zero training on. Now this also brings up that all systems can be far more user intuitive, sadly patents make having standards hard across all auto's when you have a company like Apple that tries to patent swiping a finger across the screen. Some patents sucks,
  5. Feb 2017 Automotive Safety Recalls These start as of last month and go backwards, 198 current active recalls. Suprising is that Mazda has multiple recalls on every single product they make and some even on products no longer made. Crazy. Also latest Mercedes-benze sure seems to have a bunch of recalls too. Seems that Ford and GM has a bunch of airbag recalls now, same issue that has hit Honda and the rest of the asian OEMS. How is this still not resolved and still an issue even on 2016/2017 models? Auto NXT published the current list, nice job. http://autonxt.net/latest-automotive-safety-recalls/
  6. So your truck's days are coming to an end. Looking forward to seeing pics and hearing about your new Jeep.
  7. Yup, So far, have you ever really paid the price stated? I have never paid the price stated on any auto. The price on KBB gives you a range / ball park price that you can get or pay for something but it does not mean you only pay that price as does everyone else.
  8. Yes, a number can always be assigned, but that does not mean is is a factual in the sand number. Like everything, life is very subjective be it a number on an auto, a expert chef's view on seafood or even polling info on presidents. Someone will always find the info to be subjective and will interpret the results in their own mind. After all the biggest crowds for inauguration happened for the POTUS, they had millions there to see him brought into office.
  9. Sadly that is a piss poor salesman that needs to be told to learn or shown the door. I hate ignorant sales people who just want to make a quick buck and not actually learn what they sell. Agreed, to disagree. I have to say the most confusing and stupid interfaces is on BMW and MB auto's and they are NOT user intuitive. So before SMK try's to pop in here and say I know nothing, I have spent plenty of time in them and always silently laugh when my coworkers volunteer to drive and how much problem they have driving their own auto usually cause even the sales person who sold it to them never bothered to go over and train the buyer on how to properly use the interface. This happens at all dealerships. For me, I do not have that problem with the CUE interface.
  10. Not totally, I can look at resale values here in Washington state and VW has piss poor resale and trade in value. Elsewhere it might be higher or even lower. Yes there is the range on the auto, but specific areas especially in a High Tech city like Seattle, VW is considered bottom dwelling auto's and as such, there is very little demand or desire for them. This shows up in how cheap they are to purchase here. Like all auto's even MB, BMW, Cadillac, all resale is subjective to the market forces and the specific areas of where demand might or might not be. Market forces and desires will affect this no matter what KBB or the auto association might say resale prices are.
  11. I understand that, but for me the HVAC controls work fine and neither my wife, my adults kids or I have any problem with using them when driving be it the Escalade, CTS or SRX.
  12. Guess that would explain why the screen is at the top of the dash so you look to the side and out of your peripheral be able to see what you need, touch the spot, and be looking back. I have never had the problem you seem to describe but we are all different.
  13. OK, Your gonna have to help out with a side by side photo comparison as I question the exclusivity other than lower production numbers of the auto. Unique touches? Where, as all I see in the existing photo's is the same bland VW formula used in all their other auto's. Greater Potential? Very subjective. Better Resale, maybe. Again very subjective.
  14. Yawn, front reminds me of a Boring Honda, Back reminds me of the ugly Aztek. Who the hell thinks up these styles? Pass!
  15. Motors Of History, Including the 1916 Hybrid with Regenerative brakes! C&D did this history of motors that have made a mark, have to say awesome that in 1916 the first Hybrid powertrain was produced with regenerative brakes. Shows it just took 100 years to make it a variable reality. 14HP ICE and 6HP EV. http://www.caranddriver.com/flipbook/engines-au-naturel-an-unfettered-look-under-the-hood-at-some-of-historys-most-significant-engines Love the steam motors, turbines, etc. So cool. Check it out.
  16. Love the Hatch design, space and while not a fan of DOHC engines with high HP and low Torque, at least it has AWD. Body Style and Dash are my hang ups with this. Traditional Bland VW style. Does nothing for me, ignites no passion or excitement. I look at the Dash and see an IRS audit. BLAH, ARGhhhhhhh. Body Style is like dating a nune.
  17. So the QUESTION to ask all those that blame CUE and do not either know or ignor the haptic feedback is as follows: If CUE is so bad, then does this not also make your iPhone, Android, etc. just as bad? No real buttons for the most part and just haptic feedback off the screen buttons? I am willing to bet that many of Consumer Reports writers as well as so many others use iPhone's or other Android based phones that have some form of Haptic feedback and you all seem fine with that. So if your looking down at your manual based buttons which take just as much time as the CUE interface, then how is this any different? Like all auto's if you read your owners manual, learn your auto interface, the seconds are the same be it a manual button, switch, toggle, etc compared to touching the cue screen. Same feedback confirmation. No difference in the distraction.
  18. So Right, Fixed now that I am not on crud drugs and half asleep.
  19. J1772 is the SAE standard for Level 1 & 2 charging. It is the Rapid Fast Charging that is undergoing review and the SAE is planning on setting a standard for this summer 2017, I then expect to see a J1772-2017 updated SAE standard.
  20. Very cool pic, does your DMV require mud flaps? Going to add anything to the back or just run it as is?
  21. Gotta Love today's BING web page, those otters in the snow are so cute! http://www.bing.com/
  22. Honestly, I expect the BOLT to be the game changer once it is in all states. I expect it to sell out all year long as people want to not bother with fuel and the maintenance of an ICE auto. This will drive people and just as people are used to plugging their phone in at night when they go to bed, plugging in their auto for the night to charge will be no big deal. Washington state you are now seeing gas stations add a section for rapid charging level 3. Yes it is still a 15-20 min charge time to get 80% of capacity, but for many that is more than enough to finish their trip to point B. I agree with Hyper that once we get true Rapid Charging in place to reduce this to minutes like fueling an ICE auto, that EV's will take off.
  23. Forbes List of 15 Auto's to Avoid Forbes have published their 2017 auto list to avoid. This is based on their reviews of Consumer reports rating and JD Powers ranking. Interesting you can click the link above to read all the details of what they state for each auto but the list shakes down as follows: BMW 7 Series Cadillac XTS Dodge Journey Fiat 500L Jeep Compass Jeep Patriot Jeep Wrangler Lincoln MKS Lincoln MKT Mitsubishi iMiEV Mitsubishi Mirage Nissan Armada Nissan Titan Scian iQ Smart ForTwo
  24. Honda, FYI Pull your head out of the Glue Gun and stop sniffing some stupid Marketing spin. YOUR FULL OF BS! People will not bother buying your EV as 80 miles is pathetic in todays age and you failed to pay attention to the market and what the competition was doing. Only badge snobby idiots will pay $35,000 for your EV when they can get a far superior EV at Chevy for less. Saying this is needed for their fuel cell is a joke, Fuel Cells are more expensive and it takes more energy to fuel a fuel cell auto than a pure EV. Honda is on the wrong end of this one as I question GM on it also as I think we will not see the market move to hydrogen powered auto's. Rock on BOLT! Rock On!
