  1. That is no different than what you find at MB from their high end CUV to their cheap ass bottom end CUV. In regards to Dash, SMK your smoking crack to say these two are identical.
  2. @hyperv6 @ocnblu @Drew Dowdell Check out this review by a Tesla Owner on his test drive of a BOLT when visiting California. Pretty impressive and even he says GM did good. He does not believe it will affect the Tesla 3 and there are things he does not like compared to his Tesla S. There are also things that he states shows GM superior engineering over Tesla. Over all he liked it and was very happy to go to a chevy dealer and find plenty of BOLTS out front by the Street clear and easy to find unlike the East coast that has them hidden in the back lot. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1109388_chevy-bolt-ev-tested-by-tesla-model-s-owner-his-assessment
  3. Saw 2 new Colorado Crew Cab Z71 today and my first new Bolt in Washington!
  4. Saw Two Black Colorado Crew Cab Z71 with Duramax Diesel today as I drove up to ski. They were awesome looking. One had a canopy and the other just a LineX bedliner. Both just blew by going up the pass. EPA seems to have not stopped people from buying these fully loaded babies. So as has been stated, I fully expect the 2025 MPG mandate to get pushed out, but not go away. CARB also is not going anywhere. It is amazing to see that while some companies have left California, many have doubled down or moved there for various reasons. One is the educated workforce, climate and various other incentives. As our largest, most populous state, I find it hard to say that CARB is not going to continue to influence the auto industry in many ways.
  5. True there is not, and that does not mean that there should not be a Supercharged version. I have always wanted a V edition of an escalade. There used to be a Hybrid version and Cadillac sold every one they got and you rarely see them on the used market as they just last and get an average of 22 mpg. Sadly some bean counter said it is not really selling and killed the program when they never really advertised it outside the first year. I know many with money that would still buy new Hybrids or pure EV versions of the Escalade if it was available. Tesla proves a properly done EV CUV sells, I believe this can also work for a true SUV.
  6. @ocnblu I am very excited for you and so happy you did not go with the Mazda's. I expect the jeep will be much better.
  7. The 1990's were a perfect example of Right and Left coming together to achieve much. We have lost those days of talking and negotiating to get programs achieved that are good for the planet and humanity.
  8. First off the TT V6 was not planned to be doubled to a V12 and the days of a V12 are coming to a close. The investment makes no business sense as even BMW and MB is having to find alternative places to sell their bigger motors as the R&D dollars are no longer recoverable in such a small numbers of auto's sold. The future is smaller Turbo / Supercharged ICE engines, Hybrids and EV's. You know this as you have even pointed out the future of your beloved MB hybrid and EV programs.
  9. Would you like some Dim Sum with that Buick today? I make you good deal!
  10. Nope never will think I speak for you, or anyone else. Just pointing out that gov plays a role in balancing out business especially when business is slow to change for the better of the planet and humans. I respect yours and everyone else's opinion. I am just going to point out the need to come back to center. Balance for the better of humanity and the planet. This is all about the good of the whole not the one. Trump is trying to gut the EPA for the good of the 1, this being the overpaid CEO's of companies that would like to go unchanged making a profit while damaging the planet and or humanity.
  11. Can I get mine with rubber fender flairs and tall 36" BF Goodrich All terrains, low end lockers. I loved my Old Station wagon that we lifted.
  12. And yet if we left it like you say we all would still be driving lead fueled auto's breathing terrible air and dying off while the 1% are richer and saying who cares, I got my profit. You have to have a balance and right now the EPA is out of balance with technology and time, but you have to push the auto companies. They would still be in a early 1970's model if not for the oil crises and gov pushing to clean up the air. Hell you might not have even been born as lead was greatly reducing male sperm.
  13. Be interesting to see how much of the market they can grab being so late to the party?
  14. Good Point, I was trying to find info and all Bloomberg says is that the numbers are based on the last 10 years of sales. Sales being registered auto's in production. So I guess the numbers are based on taking the year over year growth and projecting them out.
  15. Some interesting stats but they do seem to have electrical, engine and especially powertrain problems. 2016 is shown as very bad for these 3 items. http://www.truedelta.com/Volvo-XC90/problems-292 http://www.carcomplaints.com/Volvo/XC90/ http://repairpal.com/transmission-failure-common-257 Interesting, many XC90 owners have gone through 2 transmissions in a 100,000 miles of ownership. WOW
  16. So here is a couple charts based on the most current solid sales data. First trucks versus car sales. We all understand that SUV / CUVs fall under the Truck label. Projected Sales of EV's moving Forward versus ICE, HEV, BEV, PHEV.
  17. That is very interesting to hear about supercharged 4 bangers. Will be interesting to see how they deal with the heat and stress long term. Did not know they were pushing the engines that hard. How much increase in compression are they doing? Hevy they moved to compression on their gas engines like on a diesel?
  18. Not Sold that a full size SUV can go the distance like my 1994 V8 Suburban with 300K miles plus. When I see heavy full size SUV's with 4 banger motors hit half a million miles with minimal, just basic maintenance, then I will say OK, I will give up my V8. I actually expect them to go EV before going 4 banger.
  19. Interesting study of the impact of SUV sales in the US! http://www.cta.ornl.gov/cta/Publications/Reports/Analysis_of_Impact_of_SUVs_in_US.pdf
  20. Maybe Fords Way to eventually kill off their V8's as they do a global powertrain that focuses on taxing per size. Just a guess but something I have noticed in all my world travels. More companies seem to be focused on the stupid tax on your engine size.
  21. When you see BMW, Audi and MB everywhere especially a ton of the 3 class and C class and A3 and cheaper models compared to my Escalade. I stay I have plenty of status. I take my Escalade ESV Platinum edition any day over those other companies.
