  1. Sadly if your over 6' Tall the Volt is a NO GO as no room. For me at 6'6" tall I am totally cramped in the drivers seat and no one can sit behind me. The BOLT is the exact opposite, plenty of room in front and back. Make a standard or mid size version of the BOLT with generator and have that EV range plus the generator and I bet it would fly off the lots. DEMO In looking at all the pictures online and video's, I wonder how much room a big person like me will have inside it with the roll cage in place. Snug but comfy in existing model, but the DEMO looks like it might have gotten a bit smaller.
  2. I can understand that but then there are just as many people who do not mind multiple stops and only doing a couple of 200 mile stretches a day. The charging maps cover all 4 types of charging and yes Tesla has Extrem Fast Charging, then you have level3 or DC charging, Level 2 and Level 1 home charging. The maps tend to cover Level 2 - 4 for the most part. With that said, I get it that Kentucky is a bit behind much like Montana.
  3. I agree, I also wonder if this is the last big Hurrah before Dodge starts a slow death spiral. Remember it is healthy to get out of the auto and move around. So think of the charging as exercise stops for your body while charging up the auto.
  4. Back to the Demo, It will be interesting to see how these are bought and especially how many pay back the $3 dollars for the full package?
  5. Yes Tesla is one source but then there are plenty more charging points. http://westcoastgreenhighway.com/ This sit sponsored and paid by the EPA shows electric nation wide of all levels.
  6. Agreed, All auto companies that have done this floating nav screen makes me think they added it as an afterthought. I know many get broken in the MB auto's. Much better to have it integrated into the dash.
  7. The touch screen is only for the massage feature of the seats, adjustment and lumbar support is on the door as traditional controls. In China the Massage seat works while driving, I question this as I can see it putting the driver to sleep as being too relaxed.
  8. I think Black Chrome has it's place on all auto's and yes color of the auto makes a difference.
  9. Yes, there are the paint options, but I truly am talking about electroplating or what the industry calls Black chromium electroplating. This is a true black chrome. Very nice, durable and way better than regular chrome in my book.
  10. All the photo's are here on Motor Authority slideshow. Amazing the drag wheels along with a lift, etc. in the trunk so you can just drop by the strip any time you want to race. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1109826_2018-dodge-demon-delivers-840-horsepower-does-0-60-in-2-3-seconds#image=100599163
  11. My 30yr old son loves the matte look, his Jeep Patriot which was his first auto he bought and financed himself out of college after he got a job, repainted it to be matte black and had the rims powder coated to match. He is not looking at a new SUV, his two finalist are the Ford Explorer Sport AWD and Jeep Grand Cherokee. Again, he is wanting to have them repainted since neither OEM offers matte paint jobs. I think this is a Millennial thing. I personally on luxury auto's like a monochromatic paint job on the body, but then have just a touch of chrome bits. Example is that I think having Black Chrome rims and the roof rack black chrome along with the grill is all that is needed on an auto.
  12. Have to say that I like the look and interior design. Now the big question, can it fit a 280lb 6'6" tall guy and still have room behind the driver for an equal size person? If yes, then I am interested. @Cubical-aka-Moltar & @ykX My Escalade is white diamond with that cream interior. I agree much more work to keep clean, but then I never allowed my kids to just go nuts and make messes. They respect the family property. As such, they are now 34 & 30 and both respect everything around them so my 2006 Escalade ESV still is like new and smells pretty much like new, leather, etc. The dealership is wanting me to trade it in as they can sell it since it is still like new.. Yup, OCD is me, so I keep my auto's very nice. Not easy but can be done. The one color that I have never understood is the white interiors. Those just are impossible to keep clean.
  13. Cool that Honda has these EV options. on the style of the auto. I just do not see what anyone could see is attractive by this design. This auto is also not a compact, so WHY is the battery pack so small? Could it be that instead of a clean sheet design for a proper EV, Hybrid, alternative power that they have used a traditional ICE auto that is adapted with clear limitations. To me, for the Honda Faithful they will buy this, the rest will pass as far superior products are gonna arrive over the next 12 months that will put this to shame. HONDA FAILURE, they should have pushed the envelope.
  14. I think and hope it is too. The nose just looks a bit too long compared to other 1955 versions. Plus now that I look at that compared to a certified one, the shocks on the doors to keep them open are different.
  15. I searched and could find nothing in the NHRA records for Daimler have drag raced and won. The closest I can find to MB offering anything to do with Drag Racing is their Smartphone Game they offer: https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mercedes-benz/lifestyle/culture/the-new-mercedes-amg-gt-as-an-exclusive-download-for-csr-racing/ I did find a non-pro racer who did this to a lovely gullwing MB.
  16. I know this handles way better than the old 60-70's muscles cars. Pretty much everything today handles better than those old auto's. Yet, I have not read anything that says they dialed this in for the Nuremburg track. Which means it handles fine like most auto's of the era. With the awesome beast of a power train they put in this auto and the statements about the track for 1/4 mile testing, It would imply that this was not built for handling. I do get the point you are trying to make.
  17. Thank you, I too thought it was good info. Bet most do not really understand what has changed from the 80's when they first played with this tech.
  18. Can we make it a crime to do this to an auto? Judge Dredd Style, execute immediately?
  19. LOL, Nope but most of the previous generation is dead so Baby Boomers are holding onto the Chrome. I will say that in the old lovely ladies you posted, yes Chrome makes them much better. Sadly on today's auto's, I feel it cheapens them greatly. My example of this is the 2nd Generation Escalade that I own has nice touches of Chrome and the 3rd generation went god awful overboard. First Generation, no difference than yukon or tahoe. 2nd Generation, tasteful and elegant to me. 3rd Generation, Bling and tacky to me. 4th Generation, Tasteful and elegant. Really is a proper Cadillac look.
  20. Awesome looking SUV. I have to imagine they will compete with Cadillac heads on but be just a few thousand under Cadillac Escalade to try and get back customers.
