  1. The Bolt was a blast to drive, sadly the wife cannot get over the white V design in the dash. So that is on hold waiting for version 2.0 as we both are not impressed with Tesla design or how low their auto's sit. The Model X was not impressive to us either except for the gullwing rear doors. Not enough to justify the price.
  2. LOL, call it old age, but I am thinning the herd and simplifying my life. I think I will be happy with my 3 chosen auto's. 1994 GMC Suburban, currently CNG, considering conversion to pure AWD Electric. 2006 Escalade ESV Platinum edition 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS AWD. Wanted to get a bolt, but after driving it and the wife not liking the style of the dash, that is now on hold till they update the BOLT to a pure black dash or anything other than the funky White V they put on the dash that just shows dirt. In regards to Ford, I have to wonder why Ford is not jumping on using in wheel Hub motors to offer a Pure F 150 EV. After all 430HP & 2,350 lb-ft of torque. Talk about bragging rights to an outstanding ability of a pure EV pickup.
  3. Interesting conversation today at the coffee cooler at work, coworker just bought an XT5, traded in his BMW X5. He said he was really shocked when his wife said she saw it and liked the looks and thought they should check it out as a possible next auto. They liked it after test driving it so much traded in the BMW and came back to an American brand, First one in 18 years. He then went on to say that the German brands seem to have moved into a Toyota style of selling every thing cheap and not being a luxury brand any more. He liked that Cadillac does not look like the other GM products and seems only focused on luxury. Loved his experience at the Bellevue Cadillac dealership. I was shocked to hear this from a die hard BMW fan. I think Cadillac is starting to gain back the Luxury crowd and the German brands are loosing those they used to court with their badge as a luxury only brand as they introduce cheap products.
  4. Agreed, it will be interesting. So much more I could say here but trying my best to avoid going political. News alone makes me shake my head on what the near term future will be for this country.
  5. Yup, Just another reason I am holding off on buying a new auto and enjoying my paid off auto's. If I do anything, it will be a conversion of my 1994 suburban to AWD with in hub wheel motors. I so am hooked on this type of conversion after seeing what they did to an AMG wagon. Check out the work they are doing on F150 AWD and the AMG line. I have to say the HP / Torque of the F150 is crazy! http://www.proteanelectric.com/ Check out their video page https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMVRVkmIAK5z2CSaowkZ1cg F150_in_the_snow.mp4 Awesome Video of Proteans AWD F150 Conversion truck.
  6. Convert it to EV and Enjoy some stomach pulling Torque! Just think EV, charge at home and just plain fun.
  7. Hard time believing the Alfa sales #'s. FCA seems to love to lie about what they actually are selling. as they seem to be sitting on the lots.
  8. To be expected in what we are seeing across the whole auto industry. Interesting is the big gain in Savanna sales. Guess companies are replacing older service vans.
  9. So is that Alfa Romeo sales increase mostly in Europe? I have not seen them selling here, mostly just sitting on the lot next to the Fiat 500 garbage. Clearly does not show selling 300K a year like Sergio promised.
  10. Take A4 and A5 out of the sales and they would be down, car sales as we have seen are crazy dropping.
  11. Interesting, Happy for their Truck and SUV sales but this also shows the current times we live in with car sales down big time and over all sales down. Auto cost are crazy high.
  12. Easy, It would say about time you manned up and started to build a better Luxury SUV!
  13. @oldshurst442 Totally agree that so many have missed out on a classic movie that was awesome then and still now. I have it on DVD in my collection. Lincoln, no if's, and's, or butt's about it!
  14. We get it, you do not like Aluminum and you hate EVs. Yet the future is moving forward and Hybrids and EVs are the future. What is wrong with turning 1 brand into a focus of EV products that eventually would migrate into the other brands like Nissan?
  15. Many reports are saying Manuals will be gone in the next 2-3 years if not sooner. You might not be able to find a manual except in an old auto.
  16. You are so right, took my sister auto shopping and she insisted she test drive a Lexus cuv. After driving it, she asked some questions to the sales person about why the interior was so identical to her friends Toyota, the sales person tried to say it was not and this is what luxury looks like. She took his card and we left, she then test drove the Buick Envision and loved it and said this is what Luxury is like, quiet, quality interior, what she would expect from Lexus. End result she has bought her Buick Envision, ordered the way she wants it.
  17. Some how , this will do little for them to survive long term. I still think more name plates will die in the next 5-10 years.
  18. Happens when your 280lbs 6'6" tall. Cars after the mid 90's lost the space and comfort for us big guys. After all the ultimate Cadillac that was roomy and comfortable to me was the 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham!
  19. WOW, Common sense, raise minimum wage for no work experience and call it a living wage and you end up with forced inflation and everything else rising in cost. There is no such thing as a living wage. There is also too much gov oversight in regards to requiring auto's to have all the damn nanny devices. Sorry, but only about 15-20% max of the required safety devices I am really interested in. Backup Camera is very nice, 360 camera also very nice, air bags cool and HUD. Otherwise the auto breaking I am not interested in, neither am I interested in blind spot warnings and so many more. This also has increased cost of auto's and we need more alert drivers paying attention to driving, not idiots playing with their smartphone ignoring the responsibility of driving. Make a choice peeps, learn to drive responsibly, pay a taxi or take the bus.
  20. Build a car with the driving dynamics and space of my Trailblazer SS AWD and I might be interested, otherwise, cars are dead men walking to me.
  21. Best Friend had a M3, Twin Turbo V8 and it spent time in the shop waiting for parts as much as he got to drive it. He said the best day for him was the day he bought it, the day he traded it in on a Porsche. He says the M label is greatly overrated especially now that he understands why Porsche fans love their cars. He could never go back to the over rated and underperforming M label. Before this he had an AMG and said he would take the M label over the AMG and now Porsche over both of them. Interesting is he did drive the most recent bad boy from Chevrolet, the corvette Z07 and said dollar for dollar that is a hell of a sports car. Better than most supercars from europe. I built what I would want on a corvette and this is it, Z07 Black Rose painted Corvette.
  22. Grasshopper, you found your next calling! C&G Grey Car Club!
