Loved the story right under that titled "I would be scared too if I was Trump!" That had me so cracking up and wondering why the US has not started a recall vote on Potus. Back on subject of the slowness of this site, is to see how it has affected big companies: http://money.usnews.com/investing/news/articles/2017-06-29/global-shipping-feels-fallout-from-maersk-cyber-attack http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/14/technology/global-cyberattack-explanation/index.html https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/may/12/global-cyber-attack-ransomware-nsa-uk-nhs http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/27/europe/chernobyl-cyber-attack/index.html This final story just cracks me up, how Wanna Cry virus demands 300 Bitcoins to restore access to your computer and then boom. The company that hosted their email account shut them down so they could not collect and left 10's of thousands with locked computers. http://www.euronews.com/2017/06/28/global-eternal-blue-cyber-attack-hits-australian-chocolate-factory-wanna-cry I really have to wonder about those that open email attached files from unknown sources.

BMW News: Rumorpile: BMW to Show an Electric 3-Series at Frankfurt
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Yes might be interesting is the new 3 series is truly an ICE / EV platform. Yet with that, I do still wonder about using that kind of platform for EV's as there are plenty of limitations on an EV. I have to think they would lose considerable trunk space or internal space using an ICE platform. I get the cost associated with a pure EV platform like BMW did with the i Series as carbon fiber is not cheap. Yet, battery packaging has not changed that much that you could get a 400km pack into an ICE platform without giving up something. To me that would have to be trunk space, interior space and harder back seats. I am excited but also wondering what this will be as I think the challenges are going to be great for BMW. Maybe kill off 1/3 of their low volume auto's and put that R&D into a true EV product line. -
That would be fun. I also think this is the first motors that are artwork worthy. So clean and neat, it is crazy. Wish all auto OEMs would put this kinda effort into building clean engines for the auto's.

Gotta Love Power especially when it comes from the bullet proof LS7 Small Block. Mercury Racing took GM's 7.0 Liter 505 hp / 470 lb-ft torque big block and turned it into an even bigger monster with 750HP naturally aspirated ponies. You can get the Engine custom colored when you order it. They build this in Marine package or auto package. They also have a TTV8 version that is 1700HP. Mercury Racing Web site The Drive has a video with one of the top guys covering the engine and all they did to this including the integrated pressurized fuel lines. Tight clean package that can fit into very small auto's. The Drive Web Site

Porsche News: Porsche's Big Bet on Electrics

Cool about the Mission E, I doubt their extreme extreme fast charging will make it into production. Yet with that said, happy to hear they are planning more and surprised that the Macan will end up EV only.- 7 replies

Buick News: Report Says 2018 Buick Regal TourX Will Begin At $29,995
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
Nice, I like these packages, while it would be nice to easily find the base model, I have to agree with the writeup that most will be mid or top end level.$35K is not bad for the Top of the line. -

Plenty of stories about aluminum supplies. Ford hit issues getting the right quality of raw material to build their bed. I would not be surprised if GM is also having to work out supply issues to get more of what they need to make the move.

Hold off on buying Samsung appliances. My sister and Brother in law have their own appliance repair business and Samsung appliances are notorious for breaking down and not being able to get repair parts. They say the most reliable long life for Washer / Dryer or dishwasher but also other appliances would be Bosche. If you want more than a 1yr warranty 90 days labor which is what comes pretty much on all appliances, then look at Speed Queen. 3yr parts n labor warranty. Commercial grade built for residential and they just work. Good Luck,

G. David Felt - Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.cheersandgears.com United States Climate Alliance Since Potus 45 with drew the US from the Paris accord we knew some places would go against his leadership and do their own thing. New York, California and Washington state came together to create the United States Climate Alliance. This was to move forward with implementing the Paris accord regardless of what Potus 45 and his administration tried to do. Since then Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oregon, Puerto Rico territory, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia have all joined. Many of these states had voted for Potus 45 and yet now find themselves at odds with said President. Many of these governors are now on record talking of the new energy economy and the need to support and protect the thousands of jobs it has created. Interesting observation is that Texas leads the nation in renewable wind power. Since these states have gone on record and official joined the alliance, they are now planning to present to the United Nations their own plan to incorporate the paris accord by 2025. while states are banned from negotiating agreements with foreign governments without congressional approval, this non-binding agreement appears to fall outside that constitutional ban. Interesting observation as pointed out is that this alliance of 12 states and one territory produces 43% of the US GNP which is equal to Germany, France and the UK combined. Just adding another state or two could push this over to 50+% GNP. So the State-level organization is a big deal that will have an affect. End result is that the Clean Energy bug is out of the bag and there is no putting it back in. Those that resist will eventually lose. This is not to say that oil and ICE auto's do not have their place in the global economy nor that they are going to go away anytime soon. Very true, Dodge is staying with the old 1970's thinking of the fastest straight line. Yet today, the bulk of drivers want a driving machine that goes fast, Hence the Camaro.- 41 replies

So many better Vans out of our past compared to this 3 pointed Turd of a Van! Gotta love the 70's and 80's custom van scene. We really need to get people back to building cool auto's!
-
Seems to be in direct conflict with MB being the Luxury auto company of the world. Guess they better either turn it into another $100K van with luxury or kill it.
-
I know it is high and that MB has been driving sales by lowering lease rates to get more people into their badge. With that said, Interesting read, from 2014 so 3 years old, but at this time Mercedes Benz was leasing 60% of new car sales and states they fear the hundreds of thousands of off lease auto's coming back will overwhelm their dealerships and as such they will have to dump them on the used 3rd party auto market. http://www.autonews.com/article/20140414/RETAIL/140419915/mercedes-dealers-in-u.s.-could-be-overwhelmed-by-wave-of-off-lease Very interesting. I have to assume that they are still this high if not higher. Leasing is going to hurt at some time the market for their auto's. Been looking, but I wish one could easily find the Percentage of Leasing to buying for each auto OEM.
-
http://www.cnbc.com/2015/06/01/record-highs-of-americans-leasing-vehicles.html According to this story, Leasing of Auto's was at 31% of all new auto purchases on June 1 2015. They say due to lower monthly rates and the ability to drive a nicer auto, more people are going with Leases. Very interesting Reading: https://www.bts.gov/sites/bts.dot.gov/files/docs/browse-statistical-products-and-data/bts-publications/202411/pocketguide2017revised.pdf This shows that an auto purchase is the second largest expense in households right now behind the house itself or rent. Lots of other interesting statistics. Enjoy the read.
