  1. Disagree, those are all butt ugly auto's with terrible interior space and limited real world use. Especially for big people these auto's are complete fails.
  2. Love the comparison at the end to the Volt as I was wondering the same things you covered. Nice job. Personally, I am amazed they took the Hydrogen auto front and rear design and applied it to the Prius Prime. Took a car that you either love or hate in looks and made it even uglier. Center dash, that is a huge unsafe design IMHO. Your almost looking over in front of the passenger to see the last of the info in that small height long dash screen. How do dashes like this not contribute to distracted driving? If they feel most of this info is not needed during driving, put it on a big screen in the center dash and add HUD directly in front of the driver so their focus is truly in front. I also question such a small battery pack, this shows Toyota is really slipping behind with such a meager EV range. With the deals out there, I see no reason to buy this car when you can get a superior Volt for just a few dollars more.
  3. I do not expect 200-250K reservations to go to the Bolt or Leaf 2.0. I do expect some will and the others will go to Jag, MB, BMW, Audi, etc. as more luxury and mid level EV's come on the market and drop waiting for Tesla. Some might consider Tesla a Status symbol, but more and more they do not look that way and the slow roll out will make people rethink Tesla.
  4. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Nissan is going to Amaze your Senses with the Leaf 2.0 according to their recent press release. http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/new-nissan-leaf-amaze-your-senses Plus another teaser, now we know what the tail light will look like come September 5 at the release.
  5. Trust me when I say I get the point your trying to make, yet with this, we both I think are in agreement that a mini pickup like a Ford Ranger or Chevy Luv is missing from the market. Back in 2014 the Nissan Leaf team built their own EV pickup and people for years have been asking for Nissan to build it. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1094509_worlds-first-nissan-leaf-electric-pickup-truck-for-shop-use-only After this hit SEMA and online EV sites, Nissan then built a concept to show off and get feedback. Since then, this has been talked about and Nissan says if they build one it would be on version 2.0. So once the Leaf 2.0 is launched with battery options, one has to wonder if a Leaf 2.0 Truck will finally happen. A truck with a 500-1000 lb capacity is all inner city folks really need as do city gov's that need to send two people out to do basic cleanup and maintenance at the parks, etc. Many would do fine with this pickup, I know my dad loved his Chevy Luv Series 5 pickup. I inherited it and restored it and loved it till I sold it to fund my college in Japan. I wish I still had that truck today. Drew this is one time I disagree with you as I see a market for inner city folks as well as Cities that need a basic 1-2 person truck to take tools out to clean, maintain parks, city public zones, etc. I see in so many inner cities, full size trucks being used where a mini or mid size EV truck would make far more sense. I hear from many coworkers how finding a quality used Ranger or any other mini truck is hard as that is all they need for their Home Depot runs. I think there is more need than is given credit as companies tend to go with the sell a full size to everyone or in GM's case mid size which to me shows the need for smaller size trucks.
  6. Of course Sergio would say it was a bad idea to split Jeep away from the rest of FCA US or Europe. Jeep is paying to keep the rest of the product lines up and running. Sell off Jeep without the rest of the US products and FCA would just be in a nose dive of spending.
  7. But.......... Displacement does not work with EV's. This is supposed to support ICE / EV is my take. I agree, still stupid.
  8. Easy, there are many people who want a small truck to run to Home Depot or Loews and get some mulch, etc. Bikes are more or less now using a trailer hitch mount.
  9. Agreed, a Mini truck in EV would work well. I still think you could even do an ICE version that would sell in decent numbers. I think like Drew points out, they need to cut the number of Mini Coopers down and add the pickup.
  10. That would be cool as I bet many inner city people would love a mini pickup. Very Cool Having a Mini Pickup EV would be so cool!
  11. Still think there is room for a Mini Pickup in addition to the mid and full size trucks especially if the Mini is an EV.
  12. As I posted about this yesterday here: Just follow the link to the site that has the updated picture of the new Scrambler.
  13. Both Dodge and Chrysler have rich history, but that is it, right now history. Dodge has a better awareness in the market place. Chrysler has the old person, smell of death associated with it when you talk to people. I understand you liking one over the other, and I get it as I have warm feelings for Buick but if it was not for China, I would have said kill Buick also and just be a Chevy, GMC, Cadillac company. Sadly, I do not think you can really bring back Chrysler without spending billions and 100 years to rebuild. Dodge due to the performance angle has the awareness and is not as tarnished as Chrysler. That is how I see it right now.
  14. FCA should just bite the bullet, move the Pacifica over to Dodge, turn off the Chrysler lights and call it a day.
  15. Talk about STUPID! Sorry but this just muddies the waters and really does nothing to help clarify the HP thing. Before anyone says this is based on their Metric system. I read the official release, this is some arrogant PHD or DR Bozo that is complicating things not simplifying things. Why not just do the following that would be easier and make more sense: 10 = 100 - 149 HP or kW 15 = 150 - 199 HP or kW 20 = 200 - 249 HP or kW 25 = 250 - 299 HP or kW 30 = 300 - 349 HP or kW 35 = 350 - 399 HP or kW 40 = 400 - 449 HP or kW 45 = 450 - 499 HP or kW 50 = 500 - 549 HP or kW You get the idea, they can keep moving the number up to represent the range so it is easy to understand and clear. Want an 800 HP super Car, you have it as an 80. Want a 650 HP Super CUV, you have it as a 65. Their scale makes Zero sense to me. Dr. Dietmar Voggenreiter, please explain how this simplifies and makes clear your performance output from the auto?
  16. I so can see the signs now, for Dodge maybe, especially for Chrysler, "Last one leaving turn off the lights" I honestly am surprised Sergio has not decided to kill the Chrysler name plate.
  17. That is how it is supposed to be as the goal is to get people to upgrade to newer Cadillacs. I feel this dealership is failing it's customers by giving a downgraded from a cadillac to a chevy to their customers. Very sad!
  18. WOW, Sucks that he is being downgraded. The Dealership should be loaning him an equal type auto. I would tell him to ask for a Cadillac loaner and nothing else. I love GM, but if you buy a Cadillac, then your loaner should be a cadillac. Tha is how I think and see it. I would expect that and politely state the case. Good luck with his repair.
  19. Is your brother not having the cadillac dealership fix his ATS? Seems weird as I have never known a Cadillac dealership that does not give out Cadillac Loaners when you take your auto in for service. So was a few LED's out or the whole thing not working? Cruze is what I expect for Chevrolet and any cheap entry level small car.
  20. Gotta Love Japanese Commercials especially when they are for US products.
  21. We tried that by doing that to everyone that got locked up in the pych wards. Virginia was the last state to stop doing that when committed in 1989 and ended up settling out for 800 million. Sadly the ubber liberals think it is cruel punishment to keep those with poor genes from reproducing. Does not mean people do not love retarded, downs, mentally unstable, etc. but one does have to wonder how reproducing the weakest genes in society helps society?
  22. How do you justify that they have flunked? They are growing and CA just showed that 5% of all auto sales are electrified. Back at the beginning, if we use what ever justification you are trying to apply to EV's you would have to say that the early 1900's ICE auto's failed. So they should have just quit and not continued to build and design auto's? Please expand on your statement that they continue to flunk?
