  1. Tesla has finally put some decent info on their web site as an FAQ about the Model 3. Model 3 Reservation FAQ Rather interesting to see the estimated delivery dates to their 5X production ramp by the end of December. Enjoy
  2. How is the Cruze doing now? Maybe I missed it, but if you traded it in, what did you get now? Let us know.
  3. Like the Interior and the layout for the buttons and dash. They nailed it I think. The exterior just gets a MEH from me. I see plenty of the old Bentley in it and the nose / grill DOES NOT say ubber wealthy, I am part of the 1% crowd. Not sure what about it but the blank doe headlight look with the big mouth billy bass grill just says Cheap Red Neck to me. I like the rear end and the rear quarter panels with the masculine hips. But the front is a Failure for me, so the overall car gets a MEH!
  4. I take either style, end result is a win win for everyone in the city with no noise.
  5. Yup this truck is their pure EV, the Hybrid is an option they are planning for. Either way trucks like this in the city are awesome for cleaner air, less noise.
  6. GM has announced today the all new Trailblazer Hybrid. This ultimate off road CUV uses a beefed up version of the Volt / Bolt Powertrain with removable powercell modules. The system will have a 100 mile removable powercell along with a Duramax Diesel generator capable of adding 400 additional miles of use. Total power of 400 HP with 580 lbs of torque. Approach angle of 40 degrees and a departure angle of 45 degrees allow the all new Trailblazer CUV to take on the most difficult terrain. The new system also has the latest in sway-bar disconnect for greater articulation off road. Trailblazer blazes the way of the 21st century 4WD systems offering a choice of 4WD HI, LO, Rock Crawl, Sand, Snow, Mud, FWD, RWD options. The differentials are electronically locking. Clearance is a impressive 15 inches. The Trailblazer offers one of the best regenerative brake system out there by Brembo with the use of a traditional brake pad or a regen paddle on the steering wheel. Brembo Regen system when nothing but the best is desired. The whole hybrid system is accessible via a 14 inch center stack console panel and a HUD system for the driver. Chevrolet is proud to offer a variety of packages from the Base L trim, to their top High Country trim. Built like a Rock, check out www.chevrolet.com and select Crossovers & SUVS to build your 2018 Trailblazer today!
  7. G. David Felt - Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.cheersandgears.com Cummins Beats Tesla First round of the Electrified Semi truck fight goes to Cummins. Tuesday August 29th 2017 Cummins introduced to the world their AEOS Electrified Class 7 Semi. This is an 18,000 pound big rig capable of carrying a 44,000 pound payload using a 140 kWh battery pack. This fully functional prototype truck a city range of 100 miles pure electric. Cummins said this is a true city oriented cargo solution that is silent and green for use in city deliveries. The truck has a 140 kWh recharger that allows a 1hr recharge time of the 140 kWh battery pack. Cummins says that by 2020 when it is available for purchase they will have the recharge time down to 20 min. Production of this truck begins end of 2018 to early 2019 with an on sale date of early 2020. Cummins developed and built this truck working with Roush Industries. Cummins has stated they will not build the truck themselves but will provide the powertrain and battery pack and are looking for additional companies interested in building electrified Semi's. Cummins also plans to offer a longer distance model using the style of the Chevrolet Volt. Cummins will have their 100 mile pure Electric system along with a small form factor Diesel generator which they say will as a hybrid cut emissions more than 50%. The hybrid will give 300 miles plus. Tesla may be the High Profile EV builder, but Cummins beat them to the punch for electrified Semi's. Clearly Cummins has chosen to battle with new startups Nikola Motor Company and Proterra. 8. Nice, much better with these tweaks than the last generation.
  9. OcnBlu, there is a mid section in the Bolt Cargo area that offers small package hiding / storage and you can take out the floor if you need a deeper larger cargo area. So you can have a full flat area or a step down larger back seat up area or small hidden area plus the normal area. Blazer wise, I think we have to accept that all smaller CUV's are going to be built on the same unibody designs of cars. I can see a sturdy Blazer or Trailblazer on Unibody, FWD/AWD/4x4 capable like the Jeep Patriot, and many other Unibody Jeeps that seem to handle the off road in trail rated trim just fine.
  10. Totally doubt that as FJ's have been cut in half and steel pins stuck in the Unibody to fix their piss poor crumbling design. I find them all over Seattle on the used car lot cheap! FJ with 30K for low to mid 20K that are 3 years old, does not hold up to that 90% value. Getting close to 100K and your around 10K for the rigs.
  11. One cannot disagree when they do not have what has always been a Holden SS. Time to retire to the reserve room and wait till the new tech age is ready for a new tech age SS.
  12. So Mr. Musk and all His Tesla X drivers that beat ICE equal CUV's are not men then? Interesting
  13. So true, this would kill off their ultra small car sales and people would move to this. Gut tells me this also has to do with the crazy unions and it would kill off production of areas that would cause them to pay for no work. So scrap along with little sales on some work for the pay they have to do. Stupid decision by VW!
  14. Especially considering that their is more room in the Bolt for a big guy like me than in these rakes CUV's.
  15. Your Too funny, Yes I love my full size SUV's, Yes I care about our planet and would rather drive an EV SUV. Sadly I have tried to do my part with CNG, but in the end, I do not care about the MPG as long as I have the room, safety and comfort of the SUV I drive.
  16. Coupe CUV's versus traditional CUV's are kinda like facial hair, you like it or you don't. To each their own and I hold nothing against someone that loves their Coupe CUV, for me Coupe CUV's are Meh, pass. I want a real SUV with plenty of space for whatever I might do down the road. And who cares about MPG.
  17. Sorry but have to disagree with you. The Nissan Murano is a perfect example of how the raked look and curve on the sides took away the interior space that is needed for a set of golf clubs in the bag from side to side. This raked look or Jelly bean look as I call it really eats up usable interior space compared to the Brick look of an SUV.
  18. I understand and respect your point of view, but to me I still see these auto's as a fail. I find many of them with low miles on the used auto lot. People who live an active life style find these types of CUV's to fail to provide them the room / space to haul people plus their gear. Many that play golf have ended up trading in these auto's due to the failed interior space. To me, you can have a sporty SUV like my Trailblazer SS that can still haul people plus handle 4 golf bags in the back. You and @ccap41 have hit the nail for those that want a CUV type look that has been cross bred with a Sports car, the small but sellable pool is showing this to replace the 2 door sports car for many. Yet, if you expect to haul 4-5 people plus golf clubs for everyone or ski gear, you need a different tool as these fail to handle that based on my own real world experience. Example of a fail on interior space but success in sales is the 2nd generation SRX from Cadillac. Talk about tight space inside, but sold crazy to people until that person needed said space and then off to something else.
  19. The Nissan and Infinity versions are just as bad. Coworker has both, Infinity for his wife and Nissan for himself and I have been in both and the interior space sucks, none of these auto's without putting down the back seat can even hold a normal set of golf clubs. Plus as I said, big people these auto's fail to give the room they need and I am not talking about being Obese, but just talk, muscular people. The very norm in my family.
