GM News: CAMI Unifor Members Approve New Contract
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
So max pay is $71,032 a year, plus overtime and bonus. At this point the ratification of the deal just put $6,000 into each workers pockets and $2,000 a year for 4 years. So this year, those at the top of the pay will make$79,032 for the first full year from today and then drop down to $73,032 for each year after the first. To me that is a fair wage for the type of work and benefits. Still hope they close the plant in 4 years. -
Quick Drive: 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Agree on the Hybrid for mid size trucks, Hopefully GM will be first and continue to lead the way. Here is to positive thinking. True no one came out and said it was a performance version, but Riviera74 said good performance and even that I am not so sure as the engine has to rev like crazy to product torque to move it's ass. In that regards I do not consider it good performance or any performance but then I admit my view is skewed as I see things as one that has nothing but big and small block V8's.- 18 replies

Quick Drive: 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
True, we no longer have any reasonably priced performance SUV/CUV's that cost $40K. Trailblazer SS was the last reasonable performance SUV that was out on the market. Durango has them but far from the $40K price. Still I would not use performance to describe the Highlander AWD CUV.- 18 replies

Kinda like observing the quality of your stools? Suggest they see the doctor, that is way off topic for an auto forum.

Quick Drive: 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Highlander are boring to drive and on par with everything else. People who have never driven a performance auto thinks there great when in fact they are just boring lemming mobiles. This will sell to the same lemming crowd but is far from a performance fun CUV to drive.- 18 replies

Fiat News: FCA CEO Still Thinks Electric Cars Are Not Viable
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Agreed, neither EV or ICE made money as to why so many failed. But technology changes and old ideas become new and better. I agree that ICE is not over yet, but it's days are numbered as better ways to travel come about.- 13 replies

Maybe they should call it FINIT - Fucking Idiot Narrow Ignoramus Thinking Had a few good bottles of Malbec tonight after a long 6 day week of 16hr days. Nice to unwind and not think about all the bloody morons in gov that should just die. Time for a new world order of sanity.

Like all good business managers, you pick the battles you want to fight and both Ford and GM realize there is no money to be made in the Miata game. Leave it to a dying company that in the next 5-10 years might not even exist or for sure will be independant. Everyone here knows SMK that there is no reason or need to build a 2 seater, limited market and Mazda builds a good product for the limited market of users. Pull your head out and accept that not everyone needs to be in every market and MB day will come with the bloody company will struggle to survive due to being over extended in stupid models that make no money. They are in their hay day of Cadillac 80's when Cadillac was King. MB day is now but will fall eventually, they all do. Every company has their time as king of the market.

So your brother works for a stupid socialist company that treats everyone like Lemmings and would rather destroy the future than help to make things better. I drive a fun gas guzzling auto and my company has free charging for those that drive EV's and plug in. Big Deal, the few dollars in Electricity cannot compare and it is the step in the right direction. You have just proven how out of touch with educated humans Unions are. Thank you for proving why we are way past needing them except for those that are just lazy. In thinking about this, I question if the building is even owned by the company your brother works for. I doubt it as most do not own their own buildings as they can lease and write it off against profits to minimize paying taxes and usually the building owners are the ones who put in EV chargers to take advantage of write off's and to help change to a healthier breathing area for everyone. @ocnblu, post your brothers work address please, I am truly interested in knowing who owns the building as it can also indicate who is doing the EV stuff.

Industry News: The Big Electric Car Blitz
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Wrong and you are showing your blind ignorance to the advances of technology and Moore's law as Batteries lost in the 1900's due to humans not being advanced enough to build the right parts to support EV auto's. We are now beyond the Dinosaur age or in your case Horse with Blinders as Engineers and Scientist are pushing the boundaries every day and this time EV will win out. Like so many companies that ignored the direction of the future and changes in technology, you will find yourself left behind Padawan by not embracing change.- 31 replies

Fiat News: FCA CEO Still Thinks Electric Cars Are Not Viable
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Every day, more and more find that changing habits does make sense and in the next 18 months we will see a the change gain speed. @riviera74 I agree with what you said and question if FCA will still be independent let alone have the name brands they have today in 2030.- 13 replies

America due to Education has moved to an Educated Engineering and creation workforce with service replacing manufacturing. Lowest cost has always been 3rd world order and Idiot Potus knows this as his daughters product line uses cheaply paid labor to copy others products and sell as her own. This is just a look over here as I abuse the system for my own gain on the other side. Nafta should be expanded as other very smart men were trying to do before Idiot took over and banged his drum on American content that will never truly happen.

You can have all the pro sports teams you want from us. I hate em all, no use for these over paid cry babies and their overblown owners who think the tax payers should build the palaces for their over paid jocks to play in when they can afford it themselves. I will never support the pro sports till the owners give back the money that should go to the local schools. Example, Hate the Seahawks of Seattle WA as Paul Allen the billionaire with 18 billion of net worth should have never gotten the 450 million that paid for the sport arena and then the idiots on the city council said he had to collect sales tax, but could keep it rather than going into supporting the city and the tax payers would cover the 28 million a year in maintenance and janitorial costs. Why does a Billionaire need everything free? Hate em all, worthless and brings no value to the city. Back on NAFTA, to compete against the European Union and the Asian contingent, we need NAFTA. We had a chance to expand NAFTA to include Asia and have a better trade zone, but no, idiots are in charge that are clueless to global trade. Hopefully we can keep the flow of goods over and back across Canada, US and Mexico going till we can elect a better person to lead this great country. I warn to the north and south, Potus45 might just get crazy and try to invade to expand the US.

You can have all the hockey stuff, do not care, love to ski and be on the snow more than sitting on my but watching a bunch of overgrown kids fight. Then again, blood spilling, In regards to NAFTA, I have always thought 50, 25, 25 was a balance component amount due to market size. I really hope they do not mess it up too much as I can see an adjustment on the component amount but otherwise it has worked just fine as is.
