  1. I think in the modern 1st world nations New ICE will be gone by 2030 to 2035 as a for sale option. It is possible they could be gone world wide for new Auto sales by 2050. Hybrids I think will still be around for 3rd world places that have lousy electrical grids. I do agree with Toyota R&D, the best batteries I ever had in an auto were solid state. Sears for a while sold a platinum solid state battery, expensive and had a 7 year warranty. Loved them, but when I went to buy another, they had discontinued selling them due to poor sales. Was told they were more expensive than majority of people were willing to pay. I suspect technology will bring this cost down greatly over the next 5 years on top of breakthroughs like Toshiba has with their rapid charge batteries.
  2. True it would have to be very cheap to sell here as it looks cheap.
  3. It looks like the bed would not hold much weight as it really hangs over the back wheels. Just something about the whole side profile makes me want to
  4. Towing with Escalades is very common, I see the following all the time around washington state. We used to trailer with our cars: Now in modern day, we trailer with our Escalades: Even though I think sometimes too much boat is pulled with them.
  5. Trailering is common behind all those luxury SUV's on the west coast, guess we play with toys more.
  6. That is one hideous truck, I would not wish that on anyone especially here in the US.
  7. Due to Europe loving the station wagon or shooting brake as they call it, a company there is working with Tesla to convert the Tesla S into a Shooting Brake. First one will be done next month according to a story at another site. https://electrek.co/2017/11/14/tesla-model-s-wagon-shooting-brake-in-progress/#more-56000 Very interesting, I have to say I actually like the Shooting Brake look as a superior look for the Tesla. I can see more people getting into EV modifications due to the ease of the platform design compared to ICE auto's.
  8. Bollinger sent an update, they have attended the Texas Truck Rodeo, only all-electric truck in attendance. Then hit Colorado for some testing in the Rocky Mountains, Sand Flats in Utah and then Moab for proving this EV can handle the Rubicon Trail, then to Sema. They are not going to be at the LA Auto Show Dec 1st to 10th in the West Hall. Check out the PDF for some updated Photo's. BollingerSUV-Update11-13-2017.pdf
  9. Loved that game too, The Leasure suit Larry game sent my parents through the roof due to the nature of the game. All about the conquest baby! LOL
  10. Leisure Suit Larry was one of the Greatest games made in the early 90's. That game Rocked! The 2018 Kona Brown Interior on the Escalade just Rocks!
  11. Chevy has sold 10's of thousands of their brown interior with dash trim. So I guess I am not the only one that likes the warm Mocha vibe it gives.
  12. Such fears you have about the future. It is amazing you ever came out of the womb. After all the world is a scary place with people like me always wanting to change things.
  13. RAESR HyperCar with 1250 EV Horsepower RAESR Web Site The company is a brain trust of the who who in EV powertrain development and contracting out to various companies based on the needs for EV motors, Controllers, Batteries, etc. To prove their engineering strength, they have built the Tachyon Speed to highlight their wide skill set for an Electric Auto and the plan to break a few speed records along the way. Here is a basic high level specifications on their Hypercar: 1250+ HORSEPOWER, 3650 LBS/FT OF TORQUE (6 DIRECT DRIVE MOTORS) PRE-PREG CARBON FIBER BODYWORK ABS & CARBON CERAMIC BRAKES USER ADJUSTABLE ACTIVE AERO REAR WINGS 4 FRONT WINGS (NON-ADJUSTABLE) FRONT SPLITTER & REAR DIFFUSER COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMIC (CFD) RESULTS .39 COEFFICIENT OF DRAG FRONTAL AREA 17.75 SQ FT DOWNFORCE AT 150MPH 400 LBS IN LOW DOWNFORCE SETTING 1000+ POUNDS IN HIGH DOWNFORCE SETTING ADJUSTABLE TRACTION CONTROL VARIOUS IN-HOUSE 3D PRINTED PARTS USING AEROSPACE GRADE POLYCARBONATE AND NYLON 532VDC, 2650 AMP BATTERY, PRODUCING 1.4 MEGAWATTS PEAK POWER CITY DRIVING RANGE OF 150+ MILES USER VARIABLE RIDE HEIGHT WITH STREET MODE AND TRACK MODE (LOWERS 1.5″) ADVANCED AWD TORQUE VECTORING CHROMIUM MOLYBDENUM (CHROMOLY) TUBE FRAME INTERIOR TUB – KEVLAR WEIGHT & DIMENSIONS HEIGHT- 40.5″ WIDTH – 80.5″ LENGTH – 195″ DRY WEIGHT – 2950LBS ESTIMATED PERFORMANCE 0-60 – UNDER 3.0 SECONDS 0-120 – UNDER 7.0 SECONDS 1/4 MILE – UNDER 10.0 SECONDS TOP SPEED – 240+ LAT ACCELERATION – LOW SPEED: 1.25GS HIGH SPEED – 2GS PLUS The best thing is the quote by the founder "you won't be able to compare the range of an internal combustion engine unless you've got a huge tank of gas." This in talking about the expected density of battery packs and the power one will get out of them.
  14. Tesla truck testing, pretty amazing, once you hear the release of what I believe is air brakes, this loaded truck just gets up and goes. Gotta say, it will be nice when the Diesel Trucks move to EV Trucks as the lack of noise and the speed at which they can move the weight will be a big bonus on the highway and in the cities. Suspect that big silver box on the back is a battery pack.
  15. So Lot's of money, yet little brains or ability to park properly, squarely in a parking spot. They seem to park all over the place especially crossing over lines. Pathetic,
  16. Good Advice from my grandfathers and father, Woodworking or home improvement projects, you grow your tools as you buy when you need them to complete and this way you end up with a decent assortment of tools to do your own repairs and improvements with. I remember I started off as a wedding gift from my dad a craftsmen professional socket set and wrench set. Since then I have bought plenty more and inherited plenty as both my grandfathers died and my dad retired and choose to give me his tools. Ya start out small and before you know it you have tons of tools.
  17. Skip the Sedan for the next 5-8 years, focus on CUV's and EV's and yes get the Truck into the Market Stat!
  18. I can see what you mean, after all why buy the Ford GT when you can have two of these for the price of one GT. So under powered compared to this.
  19. Thank you, I read it but just zoned on realizing they want a cover over the engine to supposedly protect the pedestrians. Crazy stupid I think, but OK, it is socialist Europe.
  20. Awesome ride, the ATS with the 2.0T is a blast to drive. Enjoy it!
  21. Love the look of this corvette in that gun metal grey color or what ever Chevy is calling it. One question is how is this not pedestrian friendly? They say it cannot be sold in Europe cause the front end is not pedestrian safe. The black grill reminds me of the Italian super cars, either the lambo or ferrari, cannot remember which right now, but it looks good.
  22. Clearly you are so blinded by MB cool aid that you have not read the info from BMW where they are using their i platform to build all new auto's, so the X3e is named to fit with the ICE X3, but is not a conversion of ICE but a true EV built on their dedicated EV platform. You really need to learn to accept the fact that MB is not first in everything or first all the time in the auto industry. Every dog has their Day and MB day is not right now or in the near future, but playing catch up to Tesla and GM like everyone else.
  23. Seems BMW will beat MB to the punch as supposedly on Nov 29th BMW will show off at LA auto show their new X3e EV CUV. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1113721_bmw-to-debut-electric-car-concept-at-la-show-electric-mini-makes-u-s-debut
