  1. Nice ride, just too small for me. Perfect for most others though.
  2. Yet so many people fork over big money to the Sport Jocks that drive the Escalades and they are not rappers, so I figure America wants to drive what the over paid Sport Jocks drive.
  3. I think an R8 will come back but as an EV model in the distant future.
  4. Happy Holidays to all this 2017! We have all had our take on the auto industry and much more this year, it has been one for the history books and it now looks to be the start of an industry changing year as the success of the Chevy Bolt, start of rough production for Tesla 3 and so many new options as the industry moves from cars to CUVs and an exciting Detroit auto show ahead of us. Just wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you to all that have made Cheers and Gears such an entertaining and awesome place to talk about the auto industry. Way too many people to thank each one individually but want to say; Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all!
  5. I could go for a Black Chrome package where the only items are the roof rack, cadillac grill and rims. The rest would be monochromatic painted. I just think too much chrome is over flash of blingy and it seems we have gone back into a baby boomer more chrome better the auto thinking.
  6. Makes ya wonder what GM could do if they were not a public traded company!
  7. So many people on the Forum and in the news says making a profit on sub compact and compact auto's is hard, so my assumption is that those auto's have low profits for BMW and MB as well.
  8. One has to wonder why waste R&D on such small worthless hard to profit auto's, why not just stay with the C class and above of higher profit luxury?
  9. WOW, talk about a Mouth Full if they do: RDX SH-AWD P-AWS Makes one wonder if it could be an RDX SH/P-AWD/AWS and we complain about how bad BMW and MB is about acronyms.
  10. Tesla End of Year Updates Letter Seems Tesla is looking to simplify their product portfolio, Effective immediately all Model S and X now come standard with Dual Motors. they are also pushing solar options, trying to grab money in reservations for the new roadster and offering Free Supercharging with 5 year extended warranty.
  11. Yup, settle this out and move forward, way to much time allowing legal to bill and not getting anything really done. Move forward please.
  12. It would be nice to have a chrome option for those that want it otherwise Monochromatic for the rest of us that want a luxury auto without all the Bling affect.
  13. That front end makes me think this could be based on Nissan's new EV, Hybrid, ICE platform. I could totally see it as an EV car. on the other hand, WTF Infiniti, cars are a dying area, where are the new superior CUV's? Maybe the executives missed the memo that most of America is crazy about CUVs rather than cars.
  14. We need to send a bill to all of Europe for the rebuild and the saving of their butts from WWI and WWII. Even my relatives in Germany need to send us Money, so much would not be achieved if not for what America has given the world over and the lack of respect back. Also time to stop trying to be a world cop and just focus on rebuilding America with a focus on Multicultural all encompassing respect for each other. Course that would require truly draining the swamp and dumping the morons off in some other country. But I digress and back to the topic in hand of Europe not liking America. Fact is that except for the Autobahn, most of Europe is not able to handle the size of auto's that GM, Ford or FCA America makes. I think I agree with who ever said GM needs to go into Europe using the Holden Name for all auto's along with Corvette and Cadillac and call it a day.
  15. @oldshurst442 Nice Points made, I get what you mean. I think in regards to mentioning Ford or GM that they are just talking about mass production of an auto or truck, not specific to class 8 semi's. Course I could be wrong, but that is how I take it. Still gonna be an interesting world to see what sticks and what does not. Seems to be the late 1800's early 1900's in plenty of EV startups trying to replace the old ICE auto companies.
  16. I guess I should have included more details as I figured people would visit the website, but here is more info: @Drew Dowdell @ccap41 They are based out of L.A. not Silicon Valley and the CEO was at a former Truck company so I figure there has to be some know how about trucks. The battery pack can be ordered up to 1MWh upon customer request giving it from 100 miles in the base form up to 300 plus is all they say at this time. Battery pack is bigger at 1MWh than what Tesla has said they would offer, so I am thinking 500+ miles. Pricing right now for the 100 miles and 300 miles is equal to what Tesla is also asking in price, we do not have a price for the long range 500 mile truck yet from Tesla or Thor. Thor based on their website is signing up existing trucks stop / repair companies to be their dealer network across North America. Right now I think Thor is pretty much making sure to match Tesla point for point except for the seating configuration. According to the web site, the wipers are stored behind the nose cone so they do not show unless turned on or that is what I figure based on their site info as of today.
  17. You know we have already debunked that Myth. They did not invent the car.
  18. OUCH, now they have overstated MPG claims, this is gonna hurt them. OUCH OUCH OUCH
  19. Just so you know that was last generation not current and I agree, I was not a fan of this generation of Escalade. Today's current 2018 Escalade is way better:
  20. Garbage products period, from fit n finish to overall quality of powertrain, etc. Nothing about their products exudes luxury or quality. I would take an Asian Luxury auto over Maserati garbage any day and that is saying something. People are discovering that there is nothing here to waste money on.
  21. Yea, I doubt many left can drive a manual plus the auto's get superior gas mileage, so there really is little reason to waste R&D dollars on a manual. CVT That SUCKS MAJOR!, I have not driven one that I would recommend. At first, I thought my son's Patriot with the CVT was awesome and it did well but at 80K miles, it was slipping and even though his had the trail rated package and trans cooler, it started to go downhill fast. Pass on all CVT based auto's for me.
  22. Or she could be thinking, what a sad little blu boy walking in the snow. I bet he wishes he was in a nice warm Waverly EV auto.
  23. I get what your saying, but Thor has a demo fleet that fleet companies can test use. I think Tesla only has the two trucks they showed in their show. I am thinking right now since no other distractions that Thor will get out trucks first.
  24. Very true, but even more so is how Transformer the truck looks. It even has a bigger wrap around front window. They at least kept the side by side seating position rather than a center seat with two rear seats as in Tesla.
