  1. Makes sense especially if you have BioDiesel to burn in them. But the days of Diesel in auto's is coming to a close.
  2. Makes sense to take the Infiniti brand and go hybrid / ev only for it and as R&D gets paid for by higher priced product line, then push it down into lower priced autos.
  3. Those are so freaking ugly, remind me of the Fiat crap machines. Nothing desirable about those two machines IMHO.
  4. Got it, yea that shot going into a 3/4 angle shot does make the nose look more FWD biased. MB says this is an AWD with two rear motors and 1 front motor last I read. Be interesting to see what it ends up with as a Powertrain. No mater what, it should have far superior inside space compard to the rest of their ICE SUV/CUV lineup.
  5. LOL, Except for Potus45 which I see more of a bully harassment of our great country, I do not see those working as being part of the baby boomers even if they are of the retirement age. Too me boomers are retired peeps, those that choose to work or have to work are the Gen X Awesome Crowd!
  6. Pretty close when you look at the side profile. They do seem to have nailed it. I do see where the front overhang is noticeably longer.
  7. Nice reliable correction. Yea, I know there are still plenty of 50+ year olds buying those reliable appliances. Just do not get the desire to buy a lemming mobile. I know I am the start of the Gen X crowd being born in 1967. But to me boomers are those in their retirement years now. Must be a mid west and east coast thing JK Yea plenty of Camry, Impalas, etc. being sold based on numbers. Lucky it is not as bad as those later years I mentioned.
  8. Seems the test mules are finally out and while heavily camo'd, you can see they do follow the concept EQ C that MB showed off. Autoblog has numerous pics of the beast doing cold weather testing. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/01/18/mercedes-benz-eq-c-electric-suv-spy-photos/#slide-7217532 Not Bad Looking, excited to see this hit the market.
  9. OK, guess I am off a bit as to me baby boomers are those in their mid to late 60's and older and they are not seeming to buy big ticket items like they did 10 years ago. With the fall out from our great depression of 2007 to 2012, I wonder just how many baby boomers can now really afford expensive new auto's, those being 62 or older in retirement. I get 53 years old might be the average age of auto buyers but the market has shifted considerably from the buyer days of float mobiles. Some one wanting an auto that floats like the 70's, 80's and early 90's I think is much rarer than those wanting an auto that is more of a driving machine!
  10. I like the idea of the mini promaster being used as a FWD mini pickup like they have in Europe. Inner city folks I think would buy it.
  11. I get what you are saying SMK, My only thought is the Baby boomers are NOT buying auto's as they wind down into the grave and Millennials are not too interested in auto's maybe due to debt load. Seems the current buyers are into driving machines, not ride quality like a lazy boy recliner.
  12. But if he is buying them online, then that means ultra Cheap, so probably China if not Malaysia made! Cheap shit, not Italian Shit. In regards to the Story, Midsize Pickup they cannot find an economical way? BS, they are building a Jeep version, they sure as hell could rebadge it for RAM. Another Idiotic Sergio mismanagement. Ferrari has already lost the supercar race, Tesla beat ya too it with Roadster 2.0 FCA - Lead by the Ultimate Lemming Moron around! Sad, too bad, next year cannot come soon enough for his retirement!
  13. That is what I thought they were going to be used for also but no, they still use petro powered 3 wheelers to do parking enforcement. Weird. Like the Story says, I think they truly played to the Green Crowd but with ZERO plan on how to really use them efficiently.
  14. WOW, talk about an abuse of tax payer dollars. Crazy. I agree with you that the BMW lease program is a joke for the police. They should have gone Tesla or waited and then leased BOLTs so they could actually have real auto's with real use for miles.
  15. Heck we renamed French Fries to American Fries. PSA is Dead man walking, Opel or nothing at this point with DS as a store within a store at a higher level.
  16. Your welcome, I agree as an Engineer, it is a bit sad that reviews of EV auto's are missing out on the wonders of the EV powertrain as we want to know about them just as we like to know about ICE. You have your magnet versus induction and AC versus DC motors. There is much to learn about the powertrain and I think sites and especially reviews need to dive into this to help people better understand why you pay more for one over another. Power train tech in EV auto's does make s difference.
  17. Opel folks is what will give them an insight into the US consumer as right now nothing PSA makes is of any interest I bet to the bulk of the US buyers. PSA is like Fiat and can be left on road dead. No one wants their crapo products IMHO.
  18. AWESOME READ - The Secrets of Electric Cars and their motors, it's not all about the battery folks! http://www.thedrive.com/tech/17505/the-secrets-of-electric-cars-and-their-motors-its-not-all-about-the-battery-folks Have to say that while the first section is about how today's auto reviewers that review EV auto's can write thousands of words about the auto but nothing about the motor even though electric motor's have been around longer than ICE motor's. Yet once you get past that the rest is very informative and good to know such as the Tesla 3 and BOLT use permanent Magnet motors in comparison to the Tesla S and X which use AC induction motors that are far more costly due to their superior performance. Enjoy,
  19. Interesting, Jalopnik compares German leases to Cadillac and says that Cadillac January to end of March Lease specials are far superior to anything the Germans are offering as you get more auto due to higher trim, better motors for less monthly coin. Cadillac is finally hitting the last part that should allow them to win against Germany. https://jalopnik.com/here-is-how-cadillac-finally-figured-out-how-to-take-on-1822151999 Pretty impressive to see the comparisons and live lease ads from each company and how since the story was written the monthly prices have gone down even more. Go Cadillac Go! Other Interesting story at the J-Bone web site is they are saying BMW wants to make Apply Carplay a subscription service you have to pay for to allow your phone to access the BMW system. Imagen having to pay to allow your iPhone to connect to your car. https://jalopnik.com/bmw-wants-to-turn-apple-carplay-into-a-subscription-ser-1822167088
  20. I understand Niche Model, but they are clearly leaving money on the table I believe. 2017 sales based on most common pricing online. Take G-Wagon 4,188 sold * $120,000 = $502,560,000 Take Escalade Standard 22,994 * $85,000 = $1,954,490,000 ESV 14,700 * $90,000 = $1,323,000,000 Total Sales of Escalade = $3,277,490,000 So 3.2 billion in sales or 502 million in sales. Which would you want?
  21. Cubical I get the point that for a CAR, the S-Class Maybach is their top of the line. For SUV, that is their G-Wagon which for all of 2017 sold 4,188 units. I believe if they had a more modern version like the GLG I have posted pictures of that might or might not come out in 2019 as a saleable product but had the G wagon concept front end, it could probably sell 10-20,000 units as their top end SUV. MB might be thinking Retro, but that part has played out in today's society and I think this new with OLD SKIN G-Wagon will see sales diminish not rise. Just as Cadillac has the Escalade as their top end SUV/CUV and currently the CT6, MB has the G-Wagon and S-Class covering those and in that regards I question MB mgmt. decision about keeping the old body style. I also think Cadillac is missing the boat by not offering a V edition Escalade as well as a V Sport edition just like they do on the cars.
  22. But that is the point Balthazar and I are trying to make, the underside might be modern according to MB, but the look is severely dated and while they sell them at an overflated price for what you get IMHO, they could probably increase sales greatly if they used the GLG style of body as the new G-Wagon scaled to be larger. MB is missing a bigger sales potential by sticking with already built stamping in building and selling the G-Wagon.
