  1. Not a bad looking car, just nothing WOW inspiring. Will sell to the badge snobs that have to have the MB label. I have to make the assumption that MB is afraid of loosing CUV sales to the Hatchback in the US as to why they are not bringing it here when Canada will get it.I imagine that MB dealers close to the boarder will get their hands on some. The two 7 or 10.25 size dash screens will look fine, I can only imagine how cheap the 10.25 with a side 7 inch will look in the auto. But then that is probably just the width size and not the height. I get very much a Ricer feel from looking at the pictures of the interior. BLAH
  2. WOW, What a Joke Ford is pulling on the public, SES sits atop Titanium and yet you get less for a higher price. Amazing,
  3. Tesla Wagon production has begun in UK. Start with a Model S P90 and deconstruct the rear, add a carbon fiber rear addition and lift gate and you have the Tesla Wagon that went from a 26.3 cubic feet of interior space to an SUV-like 33.7 cubic feet, that is 7.4 additional cubic feet of space. This enhanced Wagon added a total of 26 pounds to the finished weight and is still faster than the Mercedes-benz AMG E63 wagon. This whole project came about by a guy who got his Tesla S and then realized his Four legged friends could not be in the far back comfortably. What you end up with is a new company called QWESTNORFOLK and they are now taking real orders for people who want a feature rich EV 4 door wagon. According to the interview that was done by Hybrid Cars, (web site) This was all done use established auto part suppliers in Europe meaning that there glass, rear window wiper, electrical bits, etc. can be easily obtained. Everyone is writting about it this week but the auto is here is functional now. Wonder how many will actually get built? Europe does like their wagons and EVs and this is both.
  4. I grew up with true full size Continentals, Delta 98 station wagons and Cadillac Brougham. Those are full size cars. Today's full size cars are histories mid size and the continental is just that, a beautiful looking auto with mid size tight interior portions to me. Maybe what they need is a Continental station wagon. Plus the coupe style eats rear headroom and not just on this car but all of them. Worst trend ever is making coupe style on all sedans. Ford should bring back the Comet!
  5. Yup, They have done all my autos and my kids. Daughters 1999 Durango has 265,000 miles and still going strong My 1993 GMC SLE Suburban over 300,000 miles and still going strong My 2006 Escalade SVA Platinum 140,000 miles and still strong So yes, the machine are fine and I have not had any shortness of life from using them to flush the entire system of a tranny.
  6. WOW, be used in your area as I never have seen that or heard of that in Seattle. But then here they just say Oil Change or OC. Interesting LOF
  7. Kirkland Transmission who I use for all my tranny work pulls the gasket and filter and breaks it open to see the condition of the trans, they still also flush it to get all old fluid out of torque converter. For me, having it all replaced and flushed seems to give me solid long life.
  8. Sorry but LOF???? do you mean loss of frame and if so on what? This is a very cryptic post to me.
  9. GM has been testing a private share feature for friends and family also on the BOLT. I think in many cases the future due to cost of autos will be families and friends sharing an auto in some cases. This alone just continues to prove what many here has said that MB is nothing more than a Toyota, GM, VW company and not just a pure Luxury maker anymore.
  10. Have to agree with what you say balthazar, I see VW and Fiat alongside the roads here in Washington state than any other auto. Yea, they sell cheap and have great deals but they seem to break down far more often than any other auto I have seen.
  11. Other than you who lives and breaths MB, put yourself in the shoes of the average consumer. Other than a badge snob who feels MB is the best in the world and must have it just because the number is bigger they might think it is better. Everyone else, S73, S83, S93, S103, etc............... What does it really tell you about the auto? NOTHING! You and I both know the future is changing to be Hybrid and EV, so this becomes even more important as a person who DOES NOT know MB in detail cannot tell if this is a car, SUV, CUV, Van or Truck. They cannot tell if it is a coupe with 2 or 4 doors, cannot tell what propels the auto, etc. etc. etc. This is the problem all automakers have brought on themselves with this stupid letter/number label that gives no info about the product. Many have all said we have lost our passion and distinctness in auto design, they all look the same more or less. This brings labeling of the auto to an even more important point. Ask a person what a G-Wagon or Escalade is and they know these are the top SUVs in MB and Cadillac auto lineup. Can the same be said for the letter/number mess? I do not think so.
  12. Ignore the future at your own peril young Padawan! Enjoy the ICE we have now, the future is a different beast and approach. Camaro and Mustang as awesome as they will have a future if they embrace change, living in the past is to doom them to the scrap heap! You know there is truth in this!
  13. Great, another set of unimpressive makes no sense letter/numbered auto's. Auto's only a badge snob would buy as they are anything but Standard of the world.
  14. To some they did young padawan! Course burning what little is left seems to be all one can do at some companies!
  15. Nice Cadillac in the Background. Congratulations on your new car, wishing you and your family all the best with it.
  16. Got a call from a coworker going to Vegas to NAB and was at the auto rental at the airport and they had an S-Class for rent. Guess it is not that exclusive of a uber luxury car.
  17. I understand what you are saying and the fast charging and increased density in the battery packs that has come out in the last year is what I expect to see in the 2019 as 2020 model EV Auto's. LG now has a 120kWh battery pack that can go into the bolt giving it a massive 476 mile range. I think we are about to see an explosion of EV auto's that will make allot of people rethink the need for an ICE auto.
  18. OK, Family hauler, so is it in the car, van or CUV/SUV class and do not just say yes, but state which class please!
  19. So with Fast Charging of batteries being achieved and the breakthroughs in increased density of power by Samsung so that a current Li battery has 45% more power, this tends to tell me that we are looking at a decent decrease in weight possibly. This is what I found on the size of the Chevy BOLT Battery: Weight for the battery assembly in total is 960 pounds (435 kg). It utilizes 288 lithium-ion cells separated into five sections, 10 modules and 96 cell group – three cells per group. So if LG uses some kind of fast charge tech like Toshiba and can get a 45% power density increase, they could either keep the size the same and increase mileage by almost 50% so about a 350 mile battery pack or reduce the weight by about 400 pounds and still get a gain in mileage due to the weight reduction. Interesting times we live in from an auto stand point!
  20. Yes Batteries are heavy and Tesla is using current Li Batteries that are very heavy and with that we have Solid State and new tech Li batteries that are much less. As I have posted to the alternative fuel section about Toshiba's new Solid State Batteries that are less weight and super fast to charge. They have two options that are going into production and will show up in 2019/2020 auto's. 200 mile battery pack recharges in 6 min 400 mile battery pack recharges in 12 min. Here was the story on Samsungs Breakthrough, 45% more power in the same size which means battery overall size is smaller for an auto. Here is the Toshiba story No matter how we look at it, we are pushing the technology of getting more power in a smaller package.
  21. I think Pony will come back when they go EV on them and dump a ton of weight.
