  1. I can totally see myself going 150 mph plus in this or many SUVs. Course already done it so no big deal.
  2. Yes and no, the GLS and X7 clearly compete on size and 3 rows with the Escalade and Navigator and today really outside of auto enthusiasts, who really cares if BOF or UniBody if it can both do the same thing. As some have pointed out over and over, the American products never really go off road any more than the MG or BMW products. I think the next luxury level will be when you get the EV versions of these SUV/CUV products.
  3. True, for the 450 that is a sharp monochromatic look with just a hint of chrome. I wish GM would offer in both the Escalade and Yukon a monochromatic look as well as a black chrome look. I know this is a custom job, but this Yukon all black chromed out is very sharp to me.
  4. I figured you would say that and yet the bottom GLS and the AMG is almost all Monochromatic and yet their luxury packages include all the chrome as I posted in the one picture from their web site above that shows chrome. Including link so others can quickly check it out. https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicles/class/class-GLS/bodystyle-SUV This one even includes a front chrome bumper in addition to the roof rails, around the windows, front grill and logo. Yes you can get Silver wheels, but they also offer chrome and of course the Aluminum rims with painted accents. Rear bumper even appears to have Chrome All pictures from their own web site. MB does have chrome on their SUV's. Just depends on the trim level. 550 seems to have much more than the 450 level.
  5. Size is almost identical, 2 inches different. From a comparison standpoint they seem to both hit the same check marks except one. Current GLS Chrome Points: Rims - Check Door Handles - Check Around the WIndows - Check Roof Rails - Check Front Grill - Check Current Escalade Chrome Points: Rims - Check Door Handles - Check Around the Windows - Check Roof Rails - Check Front Grill - Check Door bump strip - Brushed aluminum Only thing extra over the GLS.
  6. My Question to that is WHY? So many better things to do than that and I thought there was some rich guy in Australia that was building a 1:1 real life ship that he was planning to then do cruises with. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_II Seems the Eccentric Billionaire is in Dementia and his company is closed as is the web site so his vision of Titanic II is dead. China on the other hand has actually had a keel laying and is under construction. China loves the Titanic story and wants a ship for people to tour and check out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_replica_(Sichuan,_China) Crazy stuff that is all I can say.
  7. Yet the GLS has SubPar fuel economy per all the reviews and sorry SMK but the dash is a mess and not elegant or luxury at all. The GLS might out sell the Escalade due to Badge snobs and global sales, but the escalade says Luxury Visually and physically.
  8. This will help BMW, but not stop the flow of peeps going for the Navigator or Escalade. King and Queen of the road is about to get a Prince as competition!
  9. Cool, Very Cool! Time Capsule Cool on the Island of Malta.
  10. Pretty car color, that is about it as the style does nothing for me.
  11. IMHO, You have here an ugly minimalist dash that just does nothing for me.
  12. So Plug-In for Subaru is a compliance vehicle, with real hybrid / EVs to come later if they have too.
  13. Send some to washington state please, we could use it.
  14. This totally makes sense and while older folks that are used to going to the local autoshow to compare and check out models might miss the shows and all the vendors, technology has changed the way people shop. Perfect example is that in helping my sister buy her new Buick Enclave that she loves, I chatted with her on her must have versus wish list. Then assembled a list of auto's that met her requirements and the options above. She reviewed the links with reading the details and pictures and reviews I pointed at her. Once she did that, she picked the top 3 and then went to her local dealerships to test drive and check them out. Once the test drive was done, as is our families attitude, she went home and slept on it and thought about it for the following week. Then the next weekend went with her first choice and pulled the trigger getting all the end of year discounts plus additional discounts for being a Costco member, etc. $50K CUV for $38K is a great deal, Fully loaded and loves it in her second choice color. I have to wonder how long auto shows will last as more and more people ignore the show and research online and then go to those dealerships to test drive and possibly buy.
  15. @ccap41 CarToys is a national retail chain, they have their headquarters here in Seattle, but my daughter used to work for them as HR Benefits so I know she traveled all over the US for them.
  16. I can understand but they do pump the bass for such a small package. Their Marine speaker set sounds really good and is reasonably priced. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-j3XD6R6Da3S/shopsearch/bose_subwoofer.html?XVINQ=MI2&XVVER=FX8&awcr=76622220908759&awdv=c&awkw=bose subwoofer car&awmt=b&awnw=o&awat= Have you also checked out the Bazooka Tube? I have seen them in competition auto audio and they do really get low and clean. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-dbKqVHA7GUf/shopsearch/bazooka_tube.html?XVINQ=MI2&XVVER=BXJ&awcr=76622220861944&awdv=c&awkw=bazooka tube&awmt=e&awnw=o&awat= Cartoys is a great place that I go to for checking out and comparing what I am interested in after researching online. https://www.cartoys.com/
  17. This has me excited as I do like the look above of the ID Crozz, traditional SUV.
  18. Probably a person who likes auto's and has more money than common sense. I agree that I would have at least had car covers on them, but who knows the story of why the guy did that, really weird. Cool that they are getting out again to be seen. We'll I honestly have not bought from them but use them for info in my research. I have found the Infinity speakers and Rockford fosgate speakers seem to give plenty of base in a small package. Course Bose does that also but at a premium price.
  19. So they kill the resale value on older 500's in an attempt to ramp up sales on their garbage auto's with an engine it should have had from the start in 2012. Late to the party with crappy lack of quality cars. Power will only bump up sales so much as most consumers know Fiat is garbage and will not bother buying it.
  20. Thanks for pointing that out cause that did not show when I looked at the web site, but I still find it a joke that you have to pay for monochromatic painted parts compared to the chrome default they has on ses.
  21. Have you checked out Crutchfield? Got some good stuff and they have various boxes so you can get the box with the speaker size you want and then they help with installation. https://www.crutchfield.com/m_500/Car-Subwoofers-Boxes.html?tp=13 Look at their subwoofer auto guide at the bottom of the web page. Great info, you might find the right combo that will get you the deep lows at a decent price. I know the price is higher, but CarToys also sells small boxed BOSE subwoofer that gives nice lows in a compact format.
  22. @ccap41 & @balthazar The after pictures show they cleaned up like new and other than the drooping headliner in each car, they are mint and beautiful. I will be following it as I am wondering what the reserve price is, since the last bid is $145,000 plus and that does not meet the reserve price. Crazy prices.
  23. Very cool, a Set of Twins found in a storage unit are up for sale on Ebay! https://www.ebay.com/itm/253409962140?rmvSB=true&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true Buick Grand National Twins sequential VINs with original paperwork. Bought and immediately stored. Full story here
