  1. Hankook I have always found to be really noisy tires in multiple different sizes from low profile to traditional. I have always had family and friends change them out. My only concern last time I looked at the Continental is that unlike the Michelin tires that have nature sipping all the way to the 10% mark of the tire by design, the Continental design of the tires as it is for Bridgestone also goes to 50% of tire life and then you actually lose tire traction and performance unless your in a dry climate. Quiet tire and people seem to like them but I do wonder how at the half life part of the tire how well they will hold up. Understandable all tires lose grip / performance as they wear out, but you have to understand some tires handle it better than others and the safety of my family is worth the extra money on the Michelin tires. Please keep us updated as I would really like to know how they are doing at 15K and as you hit 30K miles on them. Thank you for the outstanding review.
  2. This 2017 review shows the turbo 4 to sound like a sewing machine and a very crappy noise. If it was what AMG has done, then that would be different.
  3. I agree that pre Bankruptcy when GM had the 51% interest in Subaru, they were doing special things and doing it different at a decent price point. Now with Toyota having bought it, Subaru has slipped into the Blah, Bland, who cares of the Toyota fold and now it is just about the money it can bring into Toyota. Sad state of affairs!
  4. Totally understandable and Unions have forgotten that without a profit, there is no company. So a plant at 20% capacity I doubt can keep the lights turned on and Hello, no job for life. Welcome to the rest of the world. Also, yes, I know most asians follow the Lunar New year, but the rest of the world does not and so enjoy your holiday but this has nothing to do with the business sustainability. Totally understandable, limited growth market if not just flat due to small country, small population and high cost of doing business. GM has to watch out for the bottom line.
  5. Honda has lost their minds as all of Honda has gone in the Crapper with the current new style. They went from ultra conservative and boring to outright offensive and ugly and sales are showing it. Interesting thread I found where plenty of people are complaining about the over all bunker blah tired design style. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=411248 Also found the Honda Accord Press release about how great the new redesigned Accord is and I have to say that they sure go out of their way to try and justify how ugly it is as an awesome redesign that lowers the CD, weight extra and yet totally miss how the 1990's versions were better to see out of and a superior green house appeal. http://world.honda.com/news/2017/4170717eng.html
  6. Better to slice down those people who think walking is better than driving! Very cool Hover car for the 24th century!
  7. I think the average income is very different too between the midwest and the west coast. So hard to see older auto's around here as I rarely find older than 10 years for American, Asian or European auto's. Too often you find just people updating every 3 years and older used auto's are sent elsewhere for Washington.
  8. Yawn, looks like all the others with the stupid Coupe design and the pictures show just how little headroom is in the back seat. PATHETIC! Dash, Talk about a dated look, this does not look 21st century but more 1990's. Not sure what the hell they are trying to do but not impressed.
  9. Really? Does FCA ever make quality a part of their money grab using old tech? #FakeNews who ever said FCA actually planned quality products.
  10. Tell Mother Nature to make up her mind. Otherwise someone might just go ballistic on her.
  11. Cubicle, can you see the Facebook link and follow the post to get more pictures and post them here so we can see it better? Work blocks Faceplant aka Facebook crap.
  12. Guess Dell does not want us out there either as the firewall must totally block all Facebook crap from web pages as I see what you mean in the story it talks about the facebook embedded link but I truly see no such link in the story at all. I did go check out the other story from some foreign language news site and grabed these images. Carscoops had this photo but it does not look like the one above that is real. Guess have to wait till I get home to look at the Facebook post unless someone else can grab them and post them here.
  13. Facebook the link is too motor1.com web site and it never took me to facebook to see the pictures. Weird if it is trying to do that for you. Interesting Social Media tag on the car though. #TimeToFocus Have to agree with you that I am also surprised by the small LT rated tires and the whole 11 versus 16 hp upgrade thing. So weird.
  14. 2019 Ford Focus caught in the wild sorta. 34 pictures to enjoy of both the coupe 4 door sedan and the hatchback. https://www.motor1.com/news/232653/2019-ford-focus-spied-without-camo/ Remember, 3rd world countries do not worry about safety. So I am sure they ditched the seatbelts for the added payload capacity.

  16. I MISS BILL! It doesn't matter what party you belong to, this is good-natured political humor from a show on Canadian TV, where a comedian said he misses Bill Clinton.... "Yep, that's right - I miss Bill Clinton!" He was the closest thing we ever got to having a real black man as President. He plays the saxophone. He smoked weed. He had his way with ugly white women. Even now? Look at him .... his wife works, and he doesn't! And, he gets a check from the government every month. Manufacturers announced today that they will be stocking America's shelves this week with "Clinton Soup," in honor of one of the nations' distinguished men. It consists primarily of a weenie in hot water. Chrysler Corporation is adding a new car to its line to honor Bill Clinton. The Dodge Drafter will be built in Canada. When asked what he thought about foreign affairs, Clinton replied, "I don't know, I never had one." The Clinton revised judicial oath: "I solemnly swear to tell the truth as I know it, the whole truth as I believe it to be, and nothing but what I think you need to know." Clinton will be recorded in history as the only President to have sex in the Oval Office between the Bushes.
  17. You clearly have never raced or built auto's that could go triple digits. GM 4 spd tranny's can and do go 150mph. You just do not want to even consider let alone accept that Americans can and do build fast auto's that used lesser geared transmission than the Germans.
  18. @ocnblu Thought of you today and know you will enjoy these two links. 19. Custom chip, tune for the SS and no problem hitting that speed. My GMC Suburban has a custom built 402, 505 HP 551 ft-lbs torque with custom chip, 425 posi diff and custom suspension and tranny and yes it has trashed more performance cars than many thought possible. Never say never when it comes to engineers and our toys especially when I grew up building racers as my dad had his own repair shop business. Some of us still know how to turn a wrench and build things better than the OEM.
  20. Seems weird that there would not be a rollback option. In today's age of overair or over internet pushed updates, rollback feature should be a defacto standard to allow people who have issues to go back to their last stable build. Seems Auto Nav systems are in the heydays of Windows ME which was a nightmare for anyone that remembers that bloody OS.
  21. Totally agree with this story on why Hydrogen makes Zero Sense! https://phys.org/news/2006-12-hydrogen-economy-doesnt.html Clearly the cost of making Hydrogen other than from 100% renewable power costs way more than all the other options out there.
  22. Many fun places on the highway system in Washington and yes while it is over the posted speed limit, it does not mean the auto cannot handle it.
  23. I think GM needs to use their Skateboard EV platform for an EV Escalade that optimizes interior space and refinement of the luxury category. I will be expecting this of the germans and Asian auto companies too.
