February 2018: Mercedes-Benz USA
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
Why the hell would anyone want to buy a V6 powered S-Class for $89K, according to all you say, luxury leadership is all about the TTV8 and the V12. Why is MB going down stream with the S-Class. Seems they are scraping the bottom for every sale they can find.- 13 replies

Saw this and a first rate job, wish for better looking rims / tire combo. Cadillac really needs to get back into having a pickup truck.

Industry News: Detroit Auto Show May Move to October
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Should not wait till 2020 but do it now, they are bleeding and loosing OEM interest. At this rate by 2020 it might be the Detroit labels only that are there. -

Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: February 2018
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
Since Toyota has killed off one maybe two of the Prius models. I wonder if the next Rav 4 will have a Prius based powertrain with an upgraded hybrid powertrain option. Maybe bigger battery pack or electric motors. Base Turbo 4 banger Prius Powertrain Hybrid Performance Hybrid Powertrain. That is how I would approach it now. Totally agree, I helped my sister buy a fully loaded Buick Envision Premium II for $38,000 plus tax and license and way better than a Terrain Denali at $50K Test drive a GMC Terrain Denali and then a Buick Envision Premium II and you will see why the Envision beats the Terrain. No if, an or butts about it. The Envision is the better CUV to buy. -
Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: February 2018
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
I have to disagree with you as you look at who is selling auto's and have a decent profit and amazing, but GM is leading the North America Market followed by Toyota big difference in year totals sold and then Ford, FCA and Nissan. BMW and MB are very distant. Clearly you have not been in a Denali Terrain, a POP CAN it is not. Look at Toyota, VW, even MB or BMW for the pop can CUV. -

They clearly aimed for the Tesla X P100D a $150,000 CUV. If they come in at $100,000 they will hurt Tesla sales big time. Based on aiming for the Tesla X, they could get that amount and major sales as it would be much cheaper than the Tesla X and is way better looking.

GMC News: 2019 GMC Sierra Begins to Differentiate Itself
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
Considering that the auto fob has a remote tailgate opener button, I would have to doubt it is easy to remove the tailgate unlike older trucks where you just disconnected the tailgate cables and then lifted a corner and disconnected the gate. -
Very excited for this CUV. I am looking forward to seeing how I sit in it. Lots to like, wish it was a bit more feline in form, but I do see the nodes to the cat.

GMC News: 2019 GMC Sierra Begins to Differentiate Itself
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
I agree with what you said, what sold it for me was the change into a step system to get into the truck much easier than the Ford system I think. I also loved the flip up lip to hold stuff in when the tailgate is down. I totally think it should be that way, above Chevy. Yet with that said I bet you can get the basic stuff from the fleet sales rep. -
GMC News: 2019 GMC Sierra Begins to Differentiate Itself
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
Wonder how long before videos are made about the Carbon Fiber bed versus Aluminum bed since Chevy went batt shit crazy on Aluminum versus Steel? I also like that the Carbon Fiber can lift inside as a stop measure for materials in the bed. This should make many happy! Inline Smoothness Baby! 2019 Sierra will be available with a 5.3-liter gas V8, a 6.2-liter V8 or a new 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder Duramax diesel -
Totally cool Snow Drifting Lambos!

This Rocks! I love this look so much better than the Chevy version and the tailgate I think is very cool. This is right up there with the Ram Stagecoach tailgate. Both are very useful and cool. Love the Dash, clean easy to use and well laid out. I am gonna be excited to see one in person. -

Agree when you are within $20-30 dollars of having a dealer do it versus your time and disposal, then I would do the Dealer. Here in washington state, the auto part stores have to take all auto liquids back for proper disposal. As such, no added cost and since I already have my jug for holding oil, that was a one time cost and so $100 versus $40 and the little time it takes me, right now home oil change wins. But I get the valid point you make.

Very cool CUV! WOW, Autoblog says the Honda CR-V is getting a 3rd seat row. Talk about making a butt ugly CUV cramped. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/01/honda-cr-v-third-row-hybrid-geneva/ Crazy,

Jaguar News: Jaguar To Reveal I-Pace EV On March 1st
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jaguar
Very cool launch, I enjoyed watching it! Loved the test challenge between Tesla X P100D and the i-Pace. Tesla was beat over and over. Clearly they are being used as the measuring stick and are going to get beat by everyone.
