Very true, from an auto stand point I agree with you that I think the only use was in Europe, but from a motorcycle stand point many have been done and from a custom kit car stand point Motus built a silky powerful V4 off the Corvette engine design. https://www.motusmotorcycles.com/home Crate Motor info here: https://rorty.net/motus-mv4r-crate-engine Base engine is 180HP / 126 lb-ft of torque. Weird that the Torque is so low when they did in years past offer a 300+ HP and over 350 lb-ft of torque crate motor too. So not sure what has happened, but they are still around.

If you ever get to drive a quality made straight 6 or 8 they are very smooth, but they take up a ton of space as to why the V design was born to save those long ass noses on auto's. Sad part is you seem to get two different camps when it comes to 4 bangers where some are silky smooth and others are very crude. Perfect example of a crude but powerful straight 4 banger is the Olds Quad 4. I saw racing teams get 1200HP turbo'd out of that engine but it was very rough. Flip side of this is I have seen some very silky smooth V4 engines that are also very compact.

Makes sense to move production in with other low volume auto's onto the same assembly line somewhere once negotiations are done with UAW.- 95 replies

But, But, But According to the master blaster of all things German and the ultimate German God of all things Auto who invented the auto industry Mercedes-benz, one should throw away a perfectly good design to change it up and let marketing tell you that a straight six turbo'd to 400HP is better than a traditional NA V8 because the Germans said so!

So the QX which was to be shown today decided to be finicky and not drive out after the video. Kinda funny. I like the sleek look, but then it is only an update to the X that was shown with a turbo 4 banger last time and now is fully electric. https://www.pscp.tv/w/1OyKAyomWloKb

One side of me says this is so weird and strange for the company and the other is so excited and happy that they finally are wanting to race the world with performance auto's.

Is it really? Power Wagon for off road adventure, Rivian Adventure Activity Truck for living life. Clearly noticeable differences between the trucks, but one could make a case as to why they would compete in the same segment. Just saying, we redefine market roles all the time. Rivian is big into the outdoors and rock climbing. markets.

? Why does BMW always look so dated and kind reminds me of a Buick on the side door profile section. Weird.

Such an overrated rebadge of the BMW Z4 and Toyota was wrong to connect with BMW as you now have your $2,500 Stereo system upgrade required and only Apple Play no Android available. Other option packages are standard on so many auto's. There is no reason to waste money on this car. Pass

Yea that is the problem with all DOHC engines is the fact that you have to rev them to make that stated torque and go even higher to get it. Too many solid long life pushrod engines that make a ton of torque low without having to be rev'd so hard.

According to the Road Show on CNET, pricing is now available on the Supra and I have to say it SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. Who the hell pays $2,490 for the required upgraded stereo / nav system to just get apple play, No Android is available. Sorry Toyota but you guys really messed this one up. I agree with the write up that for a base car starting at $50k dollars, there are far better auto's out there that include all the expensive features listed in the story as upgrade options: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2020-toyota-supra-pricing-detroit-auto-show/ the base 3.0 model starting at $49,990 before options. The Premium version goes up to 53,990, and the Launch Edition will set you back a cool $55,250.
