  1. @ykX @Robert Hall I am excited by the HD Livewire bike. Very cool for them and I truly hope it does pull in the younger crowd as like Robert stated, the pool of baby boomers is getting smaller and smaller and people are not wanting the open pipe loud noise bike. I do love the actual working bike on the home page of the EICMA trade show that has clear connection to the light bike in Tron. That would be fun to ride and see how it handles. I am also amazed at how many electric bikes are coming out. GM getting into the electric pedestrian bike is cool I think. https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2018/nov/1102-ebike.html
  2. ? Got ya beat by 10 years. 50 and just now hitting mid life!
  3. Have to say this is a cool ad I never saw since I never watch the Superbowl. Have to say I like this ad, so I went out to check out if it is a real company and sure enough it is. https://www.archmotorcycle.com/
  4. Yea, I could see the GLS diesel, but I doubt a G-Wagen would be there. LOL
  5. I have seen that too at Evergreen Speedway here that the bulk of the auto's hauling the race cars are Escalades, Navigators, Yukon XL or Suburbans. I doubt anyone driving a Mercedes benz would be seen at these venues.
  6. Same Model and year as my escalade but this is a very common site around the PNW.
  7. Happy Birthday Drew, Hope you have an awesome day and evening! ? Such a young Stud at 40! Rockin it well my friend!
  8. This looks good, but What GMC just posted is awesome! Now that I posted this, it does have a Transformer look!
  9. You truly live in a warped world. Comparison was just body on frame and you brought in the GLS. Comparison was GLS to Escalade and Navigator. YOU brought this up. The Unibody lower units never were brought up till now and you are trying to put out FAKE NEWS. G63 on the MBUSA site is 7,000, the Regular G-Wagen is 7500. Talk about moving the fence posts to meet your own story.
  10. Ford beats Hellcat. Wonder how much is the driver skill? ? Either way, America is winning on the strip!
  11. GM is calling for Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles in the 21st century. https://www.gm.com/masthead-story/its-time-for-american-leadership-in-zero-emissions-vehicles.html Nice video, clearly GM is wanting to buck the trends of the oil companies and lead the auto industry into the future. To quote: We have a historic opportunity to make personal mobility safer, better and more sustainable. GM is calling for a National Zero Emission Vehicle program to move our country towards an all-electric, zero emissions future. Our ideas will conserve energy, reduce emissions and preserve the freedom that drives American innovation and industrial strength.
  12. This totally rocks, WOW, I actually like the chimes that are in the Aviator from the Detroit Symphony. 28 second into the video you hear one of the many different chimes that will be in this new CUV.
  13. Harley-Davidson LiveWire News Release Bike riders beware, the name brands are finally delivering their electric bikes and that starts at one of the biggest bike shows on the planet. EICMA in Milan Italy. Today Harley-Davidson announced and showed off their production bike the LiveWire. This electric bike is being built with a permanent magnet electric motor which produces a tone that increases in pitch and volume with speed, a new sound that represents the smooth, electric power of the LiveWire motorcycle and is not a speaker generated tone but a true engine tone. The LiveWire bike has a fully adjustable Showa Suspension for composed riding at the slowest speeds or in spirited open road riding. The bike has a TFT touch display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music and more. The battery pack is supported by level 1 to level 3 fast charging and the dealers will have chargers on site as well as sell a Harley-Davidson charger for installation at the owners home. Harley-Davidson also stated that by 2022 every model line will have a full electric version bike to sell along side the ICE bikes. The LiveWire bike goes on sale next year and full details on HP, torque, pricing and pre-ordering will be released in January 2019. The future of Harley-Davidson here.
  14. Just looked online at MB web site, the G-Wagen AMG G63 is rated at 7,000 lbs or 500 lbs less than the GLS. I totally agree with you that a GLS driver will be sweating bullets trying to tow compared to a Navigator L or Escalade ESV owner.
  15. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1119738_elaborate-engine-variable-compression-infiniti-yields-small-efficiency-gains Seems all the testing has failed to prove this engine lives up to it's promise. Seems Variable compression engines are a paper dream come true, but reality is that the engines just do not deliver so far. Turbo charging has FAILED to deliver the promise of High MPG with V8 Performance at the same time. You have ECO or Performance, but not both together.
  16. Two different kind of buyers. MB buyers probably never think of an RV trailer, road trips or any real towing, they have their status of driving a GLS and then fly away to a vacation and pay to use toys on location. Escalade and Navigator buyers tend to think of road trips, towing, be it RV trailers, boats, PWC, ATV, etc. here on the west coast I never see an MB off road or towing. Yet I see plenty of Navigators and Escalades towing. MB just ticked off a check box for a we want Torque to be XYZ. In reality, they know their buyers never probably tow. I doubt you ever would ask yourself, but people who do think about towing will tend to take body on frame over unibody everyday.
  17. Let me correct that for you, a very small select group of people like mini. The majority of Americans want something much bigger.
  18. Or it could be due to the TTV6 over a V8 of the old Navigator. Last generation Navigator had a 8200 or 9000 lb towing capacity depending on standard or extended length. So this is a big drop in Towing compared to last generation so I think you are correct that they are playing it safe on the TTV6 for now.
  19. You nailed it on the Head, if you are wanting Luxury with Towing capabilities proven over millions of miles. The Escalade or Navigator is your SUV. I would NOT trust the GLS to tow up and over a pass or do really any heavy towing. The focus as @smk4565 has pointed out is driving dynamics. GLS is 7500 lbs towing Escalade is 8300 lbs towing Navigator is 6200 lbs towing I suspect the Navigator is under rated as we all know the underside is a Ford Truck. I honestly am surprised by the under rated towing of the Lincoln.
  20. Hyundai has seriously mis-stepped for the global markets that have changed and want a different lineup than what they offer. It will be interesting to see how fast they can turn things around.
  21. You show your ignorance with this section. The Escalade holds it's own, it does handle off road with no problems. I have taken in places most would never consider and still got back to paved city streets. .1 second is not noticeable by everyone. If the GLS is so superior it would outsell the Escalade. Yet this body on frame true full size SUV does hold its own and surpasses in that category you always point at. Sales!
  22. If you look at the additional pictures on the story, you see the actual Cadillac logo on the back side and some sort of sticker label on the side that shows it could be a prototype, but still it is an actual fob based on the additional pictures on the Story from Jalopnik. So I would have to say no photoshop. Here is the BOLT Fob. I can see a fancy version of this above for what ever auto they have it on next.
