Chevrolet News:What Does $48,045 Buy You? A Colorado ZR2 Bison
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
True, but even that maintenance of oil changes, brakes, etc. while small stuff is a bother for many. I do not expect @ocnblu or you to buy an EV, but I know plenty that want alternatives to Tesla, Nissan or GM for an EV and not have to deal with the ICE maintenance. -
Chevrolet News:What Does $48,045 Buy You? A Colorado ZR2 Bison

Doubtful, as I expect a decent sales rate as more ev options enter the market. Society has become a consumable one that does not want to deal with maintenance. ICE has plenty of maintenance in comparison to EV and once people start to see the options of driving and the reduced cost to maintain ev's will leave the niche sector and enter the mainstream. More people than you know are waiting to buy. -
A beer served from an Asian beer babe would be nice! I do miss Japanese baseball, as the picture will speak for itself: And their beer gardens

2020 Jeep Gladiator Leaks Out (We Think): Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Yup, GM had their 10 days of spotlight, Jeep has stolen it pre-release! -
Seems allot of them must have come off Lease as my local Caddy dealer has a ton of CPO. Interesting they are all around 18-28 thousand miles on what is clearly a 3yr lease car. Should be some great options for people who want a performance luxury sedan, wagon or coupe.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Leaks Out (We Think): Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Very cool, I like the Rubicon in both hard top and convertible edition. Excited that the wheels are 33 inch off road. Tru-Lock electric front and rear axle lockers, trac-lok limited-slip diff and it seems it has the Power Wagon electronic sway-bat disconnect! Shipping with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Rubicon edition has optional Forward facing off-road camera system for ease of obstruction detection when on trail. Pictures look like they have a rear camera too under the Jeep Logo. Interesting notice, the 3.0 liter V6 EcoDiesel with ESS and 8sp auto trans will be available in 2020, guess as a 2021 model. Cool to see ESS on a Diesel. So you only get the 3.6 V6 Pentastar at launch on the 2020 models -
Hopefully Potus 45 will listen for once to the smarter people on his economic team. Tariffs are a bad idea.

That is very interesting, If the tariff's are that high would that not make this a $18,000 to $26,000 vehicle unless they build an assembly plant here. I will say if they take a page from Hyundai for 10yr / 100,000 mile warranty and go with a set price model like Saturn, they will find buyers here as many hate the negotiation portion of auto buying. The negotiation part is one of the reasons I think Costco auto buying process is so successful. Set pricing that allows dealerships to present an auto for sale and you accept it or not. Very simple, no stress buying.

Easy, if we can send thousands of troops to the border, we can send thousands to help build containment around these fires. The national Guard and our military should be sent in as they do have training that can assist with building the fire lines that can help contain and put out these nature started fires.

Interesting so the Kia Soul EV is still only an appliance (oops) compliance auto for markets where they have to sell an EV in order to sell their ICE auto's. Hmmmmm ? not really sure if that is a smart move today with so many other companies coming out with EVs.
-
I tend to agree with what he says, we have first gen solid state batteries, but to make them in the density and quantity needed is a bit out. I expect most if not all EVs that come out between now and 2024 will be Lithium Ion and then by 2024 we will see some of the top line models have the solid state and by 2030, we will see solid state push into pretty much all autolines for EV use. The benefits of Solid state batteries will I think help OEMs to push to move to them sooner rather than later.

GM's approach is an interesting one and one that is making me rethink if I leave them for some other brand. Be very interesting to see what happens with their large EV roll out. -
Quick First Drive: 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Sad that Japan and Europe get the updated PHEV and we have the old one. ? You would think if they are going to update the auto, then do it globally and send the new one here too, not release as new the old one that is behind the one across the pond. ?- 1 reply

R.I.P. to those who have lost their lives. The lack of Federal response to the fires is inexcusable. Amazing pictures of the wildfires that started on Federal land and are burning down California. One picture I thought was sad but cool is some person's McMansion is burning down, but the fire fighters knew what to save! Ford GT350 at a home in Malibu. Car Dealership in Paradise from the Camp Fire was a total loss as the town was burnt off the map. Some old cars lost forever

I will say that the 1hr 11 second preprep of the battery pack for Ludicrous mode is an interesting point that no one else has ever brought up and I found buried on Tesla web site. Interesting, it would be cool to see the runs again if they did not do the battery optimization prep.

Your just showing how Jealous you are of people with fun toys. All 4 SUVs are cool, but Tesla built the fastest one!

Yet the Tesla X spanked those overpriced SUVs.
