  1. This is called Mid-Life Crisis, Buy yourself something special that you desire as you only have about 47 more years to live based on medical of more and more living to 100.
  2. I find it interesting that we do not see the attack on electric bikes of various sizes the way a battle is going on over electrification of cars, CUVs, SUVs and trucks. Interesting ?
  3. Plus Tesla has proven what a proper P100D could do, I can so see a New Demon Challanger destroying the Tesla and the Mustang and Camaro if done right. Cool
  4. I bet the bulk of these will be in private car service. I would be surprised if any ended up in just normal private ownership service. Thinking on this, I bet they could easily keep this going with a 250-300 production a year. This would truly give special ownership to a conti of this style and build.
  5. Totally agree, when my son was part of the USA Gymnastics program, just way too many competitions across the US, so we always drove everywhere except if on the East Coast. That had me doing between 30-40K miles a year. Once the kids were gone and out of college, dropped to 15K miles a year on average as my wife and I still love road trips.
  6. ? Now where did I store that self regeneration fuel cell I have been holding onto till the right time to kill the oil companies and make myself the newest Billionaire.
  7. Same with me, I end up with 15-20K miles a year on an auto, so leasing will never work for me either. Plus once you go over their 10 or 12K mile program the 15K is just as expensive as buying at least here in Seattle it seems.
  8. My friend I totally agree with you in regards to wood working, but then we are not talking the amazing fine craft of wood working or knife making such as Shun knifes that I bought for my wife. The Shun Knife company from Japan has been building all knifes the same way as they did their first Samurai Swords over 800+ years ago. Some things do get perfected and really there is no reason to change on certain types of fine craftsmanship. Auto's on the other hand are a tad bit more complex and do evolve. That is the focus much like buildings that eventually loose their usefulness due to improved building methods. Why do I still have my original bedroom set from when I was a child, something my great grandfather had. It is quality Hard wood dovetail built. I have not found any modern build furniture that can match it. So I get having things of quality that can last when taken care of, but auto's for the most part wear out and have to be replaced and moving forward with future better ways to build an auto over living with one way in the past is my thinking in my response. If we never improved things, we would still be using lead paint, leaded gas and dying much younger.
  9. Sadly it seems that Auto Companies think they have to bloat the price and offer crazy % off to sell auto's, it is as if they are afraid to actually sell the auto at a fair ATP with minimal deductions. Say thank the Germans for moving to the bulk of their auto sales being cheap leases. It makes it really hard I think for most people to actually buy an auto due to the lease crazyness.
  10. Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati was recently on the sideline of the Podium ceremony for the continuation of wins in motor bike racing and this time it was for the electric bike. Ducati has been working with Bologna University to develop and deliver an assortment of electric bikes. To quote the story that is in italian but your browser could translate it if you want is the following: The " Moto Student " project is included in the "UniBo Motorsport" program. The Racing Team of the University of Bologna has created a prototype of electric racing bikes (in the gallery photos), entirely designed and built by a group of Engineering students of the University of Bologna, supported by the Ducati Foundation and also followed by technicians of the motor home of Borgo Panigale. The bike made its debut on the Spanish circuit of Aragon (October 2018), winning an exciting podium at its first exit, with the best result in the acceleration test: 0-100 km / h in 3 "85. http://www.corsedimoto.com/gallery/claudio-domenicali-presto-una-ducati-elettrica/?refresh_ce-cp Bike makers from the Asian rim to some in Europe have announced 10 year plans for electric bikes, but with the recent announcement by Harley Davidson with their Livewire bike going into production, it seems it pushed Ducati to step up their own time line and make the announcement that we will see e-Ducati very soon as the company gets ready to make a major announcement on this, this year. What it will look like or be like is the mystery for now and will the company opt for a performance focused speed bike, sport bike or tackle the trails like many start ups in California have chosen to do is an additional mystery. What we do know is that Ducati is gaining traction in the new e-Bike sport of racing and does have both street and trail bikes in concept form. Student rendering above to working concept below.
  11. What year is you Jeep? My son's 2017 GC if the temp is 45 or freezing or below auto turns on the seats and steering wheel. I am wondering if you got a software update if it would do that for you. He tells me he likes it as he remotes starts hi GC before he leaves his office, by the time he walks out to his jeep, the seats are warm as is the steering wheel. He said he will never have another auto that does not have those features. Two things, my son's 2017 Jeep GC at 45 degrees and below auto turns on the seats and steering wheel so it warms up when he remotes starts it. If your Pacifica does not do that ask about a software update that might have it. In regards to the CarPlay, that has happened on others I find on the internet, seems pulling the fuses to let the system hard reset and letting it sit for more than a few minutes has fixed it, I bet capacitors inside need to de-charge and then with a blank slate, upon putting the fuses back in to allow it to power up it reboots to reset. That is what I would try.
  12. Really you have to ask why I find his post funny pointed at you who likes to live in the past. Comical, that is for sure. Yet we still love ya too! ? Poor Cadillac, that baby needs a blanket.
  13. Many of those long memories people you state are also out of touch with moving forward into the future and will fall behind in skill set and ability to work as the workforce moves forward and they are left behind. The fact is Humans can NEVER STOP LEARNING, Never Stop Changing and NEVER Stop embracing future change. Stagnate is Death, nothing wrong with having a hobby of learning the past to make sure mistakes are not repeated in the future, but the past is not the place to live. Everything has a life expectancy and once must move forward in life. Everything wears out, everything is replaced and changes. There is a reason really old things have a smell of death about it.
  14. No different than the way gas goes BOOM ?
  15. Blinded by the PAST, you fail to see the future and survive. Companies that live in the past die. Many great companies in the US did that, GM is looking to the future to survive. FCA, will die as will any company that tries to stick to the past. Rest in Peace!
  16. I have to say I really like this SNOW BUNNY! It does have some stance for Car lovers.
  17. LOL, I would too if I was in NJ, Last time when I worked for a company in Princeton, an engineer had a simple 2 story house of 2000 sq ft and was paying according to him $12,000 a year in taxes and this was in 2011. I have that same size house here in Washington and pay only $4000 in 2018. I can only imagine what the taxes are now 8 years later.
  18. Cracking up laughing on how a rich Dubai Driver who imported his Lamborghini legally for a road trip through the US and Canada schools an idiot Oregon state Patrolman.
  19. I noticed that for the most part, that while Tesla puts a HP figure on their base home screen for their auto's, when you look at the specification page everything is metric. I also noticed that Atlis and Rivian is doing this. I wonder if Cadillac will take the risk of going metric rather than sticking with the old standard system? ?
  20. Best part about this is that I believe many of the Cadillac's I have posted above would slip through the air with minimal resistance and be a silent stealthy luxury ride with tight handling that I would be proud to own. Those styles prove we do not need an ugly auto like Tesla. Tesla has amazing technology, but their style is anything but pleasing to me.
  21. Imagine how big that Frunk would be on the Ciel with as an EV plus a huge trunk.
  22. Nissan has always had some interesting concepts. Could be an interesting EV. Reminds me of a GMC Concept truck that the name is escaping me at the time.
  23. Then in that case lets put in the proper eye candy of what an AWESOME EV lineup could look like. Urban Commuter So many awesome EV possibilities!
