Volvo News: Volvo Setting 112 MPH Speed Limit on All Cars in 2020
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volvo
Population control is what that is called. Imagine all the idiots we would have go away with an Autobahn style freeway system. Love the idea. Eventually it would be super safe once the morons who cannot drive or are afraid to drive are off the road. After all driving is a privilege earned and we have so many idiots that think it is a right. We really do need retraining of the drivers in this country. -

@Drew Dowdell @ccap41 Now not a Fact, but according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autobahn you have 3 speeds, far right is max of 130kph, middle lane is up to 150 kph and far left lane is for auto's 170kph and above. I am thinking the 180 kph is to allow all driving on the autobahn but keep a lid on the top end speed to keep the auto safe? ?♂️ I do question the speed limits as auto's have gotten so safe and according to wiki again the crash and death rates on the autobahn are some of the lowest anywhere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_limits_in_Germany -
Thanks CCAP41, I looked around. Interesting concept. For the Amazon type buyers, this should work. For me, I like to see it before even putting a dollar down. Very different way of buying, that is for sure.

True, but still cool to see someone building true concepts to get consumer feedback.

Cute little bugger, the 31 mile range should be good for most inner city folks that just need to run errands. Cool, glad it is here. I hope it does well for jeep!

Very cool, I love the poke at the large multi screen with all those little ones. LOL Overall I like that they state bigger interior in a smaller package. Hopefully they really deliver on this.

Tesla has plenty of problems and I do not get how you can say they look better than the Polestar 2. Tesla is butt ugly compared to this. The Chinese made a better looking EV than an American created company. This is the competition that we have and we need to stop being lazy. People want normal looking auto's, not jelly bean bland cars and CUVs like Tesla makes. Tesla has some of the best battery packs, circuit boards and ideas, but their styling leave much to be desired. This will be proven out as more and more EV's hit the market and people leave Tesla in droves to go with other brands.

As they say, each person's mileage will vary. I have never had the issues I see posted here by so many with Android. Could be the version of phone i have used and the lack of using social media stuff. I am happy that everyone seems to find a phone that works for them. They are all good and all do what they were designed for, sadly 3rd party apps can really mess up a phone. Keep them backed up and recoverable by the cloud and you should never lose your info. Tonight just got update 16 for my Note 8 from Android. Have to say the updates are very solid.

Funny, still does that now. Everytime my bus goes by the downtown store which has a bus stop out front, my phone buzzes me to sign in. I do have the right to ignore it for that time, but it does it again the next day. I will agree that is a bit annoying.

I have a case and one of those gorilla glass covers and still, one day I had work gloves on, tried to put my phone back into my back pocket and missed and dropped less than 4 feet and my screen shattered. Still works, but pissed me off as it is the first phone ever that this happened to. Front camera is worthless, but I rarely took any selfies, so no big deal, back camera works good. They want $350 to replace the screen and camera. Hard to see, but there are crack lines all over the whole thing besides the hole over the selfie camera.

Just give me the real important number TORQUE! Let me move to highway speed quickly, many of GMs auto's do that, but plenty of others are pathetic trying to get up to highway speed. -
Yes true it is, but as an electric auto, One would think they could make the interior space roomy and comfy even for big people like me. Yes most are not 6'6" tall 290lbs, but still I can fit in a Bolt, so if Tesla is doing their job right, I should fit in a Tesla X which is very hard for me to do. That is sad Panda for me.

Nothing like a 1971 Buick Estate Wagon, all 227 inches of her with a 455 V8 good for 355HP at 10 mpg. This station wagon as I learned is 3 inches longer than today's Chevrolet Suburban.

Was in lovely shape. Person really cares for their car.

Will be cramped, sadly having sat in the S, X and 3, I see no reason they will improve the interior room beyond the current crackjack box. Sad, as it is exciting that more and more EV options come out but they really need to learn how to build an EV with room inside. Bolt is roomier inside than any Tesla.

I usually change out my phones every 4 to 6 years. I have been a lifelong user of Samsung Note# phones. They rock and last. Great picture quality and seem to me to be very stable and long battery life. Not an Apple fan at all, if you like decisions made for you and limited to what one can do, then Apple is fine for those that do not care about technology and want a single ecosystem to get around on. I agree with those that said once you go smartphone you will not go back and if you try you will quickly learn the pain and regret it. I moved my parents last year to smartphones. Spent time teaching them how to use it. One of the phones was defective so my mom thought she would just go back to a flip phone. Within the day quickly realized how much added work and what a pain the flip phone was in comparison to the Smartphone. My mom is back on a smartphone and loves it and has pushed into taking photos like crazy. Amazing how technology can change how people interact. Agree, storage can never be enough with all we do on our phones now.

Volvo just threw a bone to aftermarket programmers. -
Over the weekend, went skiing and on my way home exiting the freeway, this beauty popped up, could not get my phone out fast enough to get a full pic as I honestly did not know what brand, but it was a pretty car.

I totally agree as Ford sales person is like the worst to deal with out there. So pushy, arrogant and uninformed about their products details. I have no problem when bad dealerships go away. But for me, I have certain needs as you know and being able to actually sit in one and test it out will always have me going to a dealership over on-line buying.
