  1. Wish them the best, I am sure many hardcore Holden fans want them to return to the history of years past with big V8 powered RWD auto's, sadly the market for that is going away. Future desires by the public change everything.
  2. Had no Idea that these were fully loaded $52K Canadian dollars and they used to have a $14K rebate but that is over now to the North. WOW. Price is a big issue for the car in 2019 to this reviewer and due to the Polar Vortex, it took longer to charge, but over all not a bad auto to the guy.
  3. Saw this Chevy sonic LT in Green and it had a Bolt nose on it, but was sharp looking for a subcompact. Also at the gym was the last generation Buick station wagon in white, very clean and sharp.
  4. Yes I know I DO NOT fit in them, yet as part of the auto industry I really want to like this car but I just do not. The look etc. is just ugly to me. I would rather have a Honda S2000 over this. The Honda had better over all lines.
  5. Traitor, I thought I had a friend in Hate of Ford! Yea, Ford EV F150 is gonna be da bomb! I can try to love that too!
  6. Agreed, this one is actually nice looking which is rare for Toyota and me. I wish GM would plan stuff like this where they bring out a Z71 or SS set of all models at a show. GM needs to get their planning together to better maximize long term loyalty and sales by offering speed across the whole product line and then offer off road performance across their whole product line. The one here, one there is just so tiring and not well planned. What ever happened to GM Performance? ? Toyota TRD is Killing them!
  7. +1 for me as I value it even when we Bitch like Highschool Girls over certain topics! ?
  8. Saw a New Sienna Mini Van not even with plates on yet that clearly was T-Boned in our current Frozen Snow mess we have here. Totally sucks.
  9. WOW, looks very functional in a minimalist German way.
  10. I agree, almost as if they are just trying to mimic what GM has already done for their various off road tweaks and give an impression of new but not really new, just a polish job on the existing pig or as they say putting new lipstick on a pig. I feel this is just a response to GM off road packages more than anything to do with the Ranger. Just a different shade of color / LipStick on a pig. ?‍♂️
  11. Some cool reads I found today: Lowrider culture in Japan: https://jalopnik.com/welcome-to-the-wild-world-of-tokyos-underground-lowride-1826096379 Check out the amazing amount of Land Yachts, mostly GM but some very cool stuff that shows up in the Shibuya district. Very Cool read with plenty of pictures of Snowmobile Model T's. https://jalopnik.com/nothing-says-comfortable-winter-driving-like-snowmobile-1832370924
  12. So far that whole BS argument of Turbo engines are more fuel efficient is just that BS. Once you put your foot into it to create the power they have proven to be thirstier than naturally aspirated motors. I would expect Ford to use this new Beast of a motor in their medium duty line of commercial trucks where it will out last a smaller sized turbo'd gas motor.
  13. True, but the ones on the dealer lots around here like the two I posted above are RWD only. Very weird.
  14. As has been the norm for the last few years in F1 racing with electric assist and an Ultracapacitor for boost of performance, I think we will see this companies products be used in more than just storage, but also in a boost mode feature.
  15. Around here with all the steep hills and mountains and snow, AWD is becoming a standard requirement for many here in the Tech industry. I suspect it was traded in for an AWD or 4x4 ICE auto.
  16. Lots of fairly new Tesla's around the area here on auto lots. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/searchresults.xhtml?zip=98034&makeCodeList=TESLA&modelCodeList=EXPEDI This 2018 Tesla 3 with only 4,390 miles on it is sitting on the local RAM, Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler lot here. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=506380991&zip=98034&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D98034%26startYear%3D1981%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26endYear%3D2019%26makeCodeList%3DTESLA%26searchRadius%3D200&startYear=1981&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&endYear=2019&makeCodeList=TESLA&searchRadius=200&clickType=spotlight Tesla S sitting on the local Audi Lot here with only 16,183 miles is a 2017 Tesla S https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=490612925&zip=98034&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D98034%26startYear%3D1981%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26endYear%3D2019%26makeCodeList%3DTESLA%26searchRadius%3D200&startYear=1981&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&endYear=2019&makeCodeList=TESLA&searchRadius=200&makeCode1=TESLA&modelCode1=TESMODS&clickType=listing
  17. Electrify America buying Tesla Storage for 800V charging systems. This will go into 100 installations this year to support the 800V rapid charging systems. https://www.foxnews.com/auto/volkswagen-backed-electrify-america-buying-tesla-tech-for-charging-stations Seems to get ready for the new Porsche Taycan EV, Electrify America has chosen Tesla power storage systems to help keep costs low by stockpiling off-peak electricity allowing to keep recharge rates low. The 100 re-charging stations with Tesla storage will go into key Porsche markets where the 800V system will charge 60 miles of range in 4 min. This will allow Porsche a key competitor to Tesla P100D or what is now their platinum car to fully recharge in less than 20 min.
  18. Maxwell Technologies has announced their definitive merger agreement with Tesla, Inc. This is a $218 million dollar all-stock deal which put a value of $4.75 per share on the Maxwell common stock. To quote the news announcement from Maxwell; Tesla CEO Elon Musk is on record saying that ultracapacitors could provide a more likely bet for a breakthrough in energy storage than batteries. Maxwell Ultracapacitors can hold up to 300 watt-hours of electricity per kilogram. This represents 20% more storage than Tesla's largest battery cell pack. Maxwell is also on record saying that their Ultracapacitors have the potential to store more than double the energy by mass versus Tesla's current cell design and will allow Tesla to ramp up the density and speed factor of their auto's while greatly reducing the time to recharge. Looking at where Tesla is today and for the future, this purchase has to be also based on the fact that Maxwell Ultracapacitors use solid-state technology with no flammable electrolytes or rare earth minerals such as cobalt. One also has to think that this could be a hedge as Panasonic is on record as saying they will not have solid state batteries for about 10 years unlike Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Fisker, Dyson and other auto companies who have stated they will have solid state batteries in their electric vehicles between 2022 and 2025. Maxwell is also the ultracapacitor supplier to Geely, the parent company of Volvo where they will be used in Volvo's plug-in hybrids. Maxwell has also announced that they will showcase their Ultracapacitor storage system at Key Q1 2019 Grid and Utility Events such as DistribuTECH in New Orleans and Energy Storage Europe in Germany. To quote their press release: This one could take as a sign of how Tesla will grow their own home and business storage business with Solar. Musk in the most recent earning's call stated he thinks Tesla's energy storage business is to be one of their big growth areas this year.

  20. I am sure there will be other options too as in a few years we will see the iPace and MQC EVs show up on the CPO scene plus there is always the Bolt which is in CPO now.
  21. At least the prices are lower than what the Chinese are having to pay. Those prices are crazy. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-model-3-launch-china-high-price-tag/
  22. So we saw this concept in 2018 with the understanding it would be out in 2021. Seems that BMW under promised and is now over delivering. It looks like it will be out at the beginning of 2020 as a 2021 model. BMW had their announcement then even on the BMW Group home page. https://www.bmwgroup.com/en/innovation/bmw-vision-i-next.html Now today BMW made another announcement showing their mules doing winter testing in Sweden. https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/global/article/detail/T0291027EN/bmw-inext-undergoes-winter-trial-tests:-advancing-the-future-of-driving-pleasure-at-the-polar-circle To quote the press release: The future of driving pleasure is approaching fast and the BMW iNEXT takes the next hurdle of its path to serial production maturity. The winter test centre of the BMW Group in Arjeplog, Sweden is the setting for the current complete vehicle tests, which serve to optimise, examine and harmonise all drive, chassis and suspension components under extreme climate and road conditions. With its purely electric drive, the BMW iNEXT meets individual mobility needs in an especially sustainable manner. It also combines the latest developments from the areas of automated driving and intelligent connectivity offering passengers completely new ways of enjoying their ride.
